That would be nice though if you got a notification when one of your favorites goes on sale. Doesn't Sephora do that? Not 100% positive. Alicia, I appreciate that you do go back into your palette collection and create more content. So many of us have these palettes. We forget about being creative and inspiring new looks. It is definitely worthwhile creating these videos. Some of us may be watching our budgets. Some of us may be at a place where we just feel we have too much already in our preexisting collections, how many more variations can be made in newer palettes, when so many of those colors already exist in palettes we have? So, I really do appreciate when you do revisit older Mothership palettes and Natasha Denona. 💖💖💖
Hey Deborah! I would be happy to go back in. I’m not sure what the general consensus is, if there is still a large audience for new makeup reviews. I guess those who are not shopping as much want to see if those products are worth their dollar.
Have you considered doing a “Shop My Stash” video? I know I’m dying to “shop” your collection. Others must be curious too. It does reinforce using and loving on makeup we already own. Just an idea. ❤

It’s a great way to appreciate makeup you already own and love. Hannah Louise Poston does it as part of her low buy plan. Whenever she gets really tempted to buy something new. I do it and sometimes I discover makeup I’d forgotten I bought. It helps me a lot. Plus, it’s a lot of fun! 🤩

Window shopping originated from going to the malls without any $ as a teenager and looking at the window set ups, trying not to go inside so you wouldn’t buy anything. Or you’d touch everything and come back for it and buy one item from Sephora or Victoria secret or hollister back in the day
I like window shopping. It’s better than shopping, shopping. Window shopping with Alicia is best of all. I want the Danessa Myricks Groundwork II palette. I’ll step off the wagon for that one and get back on again.
Groundwork is super intuitive and intimidating at the same time. There is more pomade than powder. You can lay down the pomade and set with powder. You can use pomade to build the base of your look and add other colours and shadows as you go. A brush or your finger works beautifully. Martina Lily is a huge, amateur fan. Most makeup artists: Nikki La Rose love it.
That 2nd Groundworks palette looks DIVINE and everything that I'd want for yet one more workhorse palette like my beloved and well used Huda Beauty Pretty Grunge palette!

The only brands I'm really paying attention to are Danessa Myricks, Phytosurgence, and Rituel de Fille. And I already have enough makeup, so this year, for me, is really about using what I have and really figuring out what works best and pairing down from there.
Alicia, I'm aiming for my first low-buy this year and you can't bail on me now! I know we make exceptions for those extra special items, like Lethal's new Holographic Pure Metals and Multichrome Shadows plus just two of the Eye Sparkles. I collect these shadows, so naturally they're on my exception list. I only discovered today that By Terry had released a new Eye Palette No.5, which must have been snuck in prior to the Holiday Palette No.6, although not in Australia! I haven't heard anyone mention it. I have finally purchased all of Mother's Motherships, with Decadence the last early this year when she 'opened the vault'. It was only the regular one for sale, yet guess what turned up at my door? The original Star Wars Edition in the gold packaging!!! Decadence has been my favourite Mothership since I first laid eyes on them, yet for some reason it hasn't been available and it ended up the last one I purchased, along with a lovely surprise. It was reduced considerably too. As for the general prices, Sunlit Seduction landed at Sephora with a price tag of roughly near A$30.00 over her other Motherships. I have no idea why, especially as I bought mine from PML at the Holiday Sales, but reduced from the same prices as all of the others. When I saw Divine Rose II re-packaged in the gold palette, I was waiting for RUclips to explode with more hatred aimed at poor Pat for 'another pink palette'. To be honest, your video has been the first I've seen to mention it. I've been a defender of Pat's as well, for as an artist I can see her inspiration. I too feel that something else is possibly happening behind the scenes that we aren't aware of. The answer is simple for those who whinge about her palettes - don't buy them if not to your liking. Easy fixed. The last Motherships I picked up were the Divine Rose I, Divine Rose II, Huetopian Dream, Sunlit Seduction and finally Decadence. One evening I sat home and swatched each palette on my arm and was still awe struck by the shades. Was it too much pink to be released so close together? In my opinion - yes. Am I complaining about any of them? Most definitely not! Now, do not go buying products that you don't need just due to the packaging being pretty. That's giving up before you've begun. I don't know why most missed the release of liquid highlighters by Givenchy from their Holiday Collection. Both L/E in an Icy Pink and Bronze. The Bronze is too dark for my skin-tone but looks amazing on the lips, over lipstick or alone. It can also be used as a bronzer or a base highlighter under foundation. I admit that I have a bad sense of smell, but I can't notice anything perfumed from them. I don't know the difference in price between them as Dior's hasn't shown up here yet, along with many other products - what else is new? Even Chanel is lagging far behind with only the Éclat de Nuit, two Eye-Liners and Luminising Bases available so far. Not that I'm interested in any of it, except for the Baume Essential in Mermaid Glow. I have no intention of caving, no matter how many say it's divine.😢 I counted my lipsticks last week and was so embarrassed, there won't be anymore unless at an exceptional reduction. I tend to ignore our Sephora Sales as at the top level, it's still only 20% Off. I wait for the EOFY Sales and swoop on the magnificent bargains then. You're luckier in the US as you have far more brands available at Sephora than we do. I don't know how you'd survive here? By the way, Antibes is a town along the French Riviera and when I was there was told it was pronounced 'on-teeb'. I'd check the internet first to find out. Try and focus on that incredible collection you're getting from Florasis. As far as I've heard, it's pronounced 'flora-sis' (flora as in flowers - floor-a & sis as in - sister, without the ter of course). This again could be completely wrong but I'm only going by what I've been told. I've seen a number of Content Creators review this and without giving anything away, it's a sight to behold. Stay up on that wagon and don't cave in for something as mundane as packaging! If you don't need bronzer, don't cave in because it's in a pretty compact. There will be plenty more pretty compacts to come. It hasn't been easy for me either, yet I'm doing pretty well. Just be realistic and know that there will be items that you will make an exception for. I checked up my past orders and discovered the 18-pan Byredo comes out in May, well it did last year. With how fast this year is going, we'll be there before we know it. Do your best to stay up here on the wagon with me and all the others struggling to not buy. Will-power my dear! I got the groundworks palette from the trend mood box and I’m still paralyzed when I look at it. The fact that you said you are intimidated makes me feel better bc your brain works so beautifully with these palettes. I will be getting the new pink/mauve groundwork but I’m going to side eye anyone that says they are over PMG and the pinks bc it’s obviously selling and desirable. I can’t wait to see the looks you create 🥰
I feel you so much on the low buy this year, but I also appreciate the window shopping 😘 I’m trying really hard to remember I have more eye palettes than anyone EVER needs and will last me for a lifetime. It’s so hard because there’s so much beautiful makeup out there and the FOMO is real. But I love this style video and would love to see more!

Love your entry into this video category. I (almost) always "do reconnaissance. " Look first, whatever the shopping category, then--if I'm still thinking about it a week later--I'll consider whether to buy. If a product is in the permanent line, I can hold on for a sale.
There are a couple eyeliners from Lisa that I have REALLY wanted and passed up at the time because I wanted to make one bigger purchase. I think this will be it. The pencil and liquid liners and the mascara. Yes please.

I also cyber window shop 😂. There’s so many launches now that it’s overwhelming but I take it as a chance to go into my collection and see if I already have something similar and can avoid buying anything new (doesn’t always work😅, but still good). Just a note on the artwork: AI artwork is not the same as Digital Artwork. Digital artwork is still hand created by an artist it’s just the medium is technological versus pencil and paper. AI artwork just takes existing artwork from others and gets put together as “new” art. It’s a big debate within the art and entertainment industry and many of my friends that are being affected by AI have been very vocal against it. Thank you for your honest opinions! We all have different tastes, experiences, and opinions with products and brands. So just ignore the haters and keep being true to yourself and letting us know how you like or dislike something.
This was a fun video, I hope you do more of these in the future! I feel very similarly to you about PMG - you would think that she came in and spray painted everyone's makeup collections hot pink by how heated people get over her releases. I also agree with you about Lisa's new collection, it's not particularly exciting and $36 for a mascara is a tough sell when there's plenty of valid drugstore mascaras, and high to mid range mascaras that I can get at a decent discount. Maybe if she decides to do a discounted holiday bundle with the mascara I'd consider getting it.
People are so damn salty about the divine rose 2 palette in gold and I mean...I'm just not seeing THAT as the hill to die on with PML. When she opened the vault she had the gold starwars decadence. I would imagine she planned both of those a while ago as you touched on. In terms of egregious things that brand has done in the past what? 12 months? That's not even approaching the tip of that iceberg. I hope your speculations are true in the blitz shades coming back...if not....I'm stoked for Industrial 3.0 😂
Sooo looking forward to your Florasis review, I’m always curious about that brand but despite other influencers saying (it’s good) I keep thinking (it’s the packaging). There’s so little non PR reviews but knowing your taste you’d be blunt about the quality matching up to the price. As for Merit, it’s one of those brands that’s so minimal that I’ve only and off wanted you to try their products just so see how they look on your complexion since you’re my closest shade match in Makeup Reviewers I watch. No pressure though if you don’t want any influx of products
Frankly, I love hearing your perspective! No, people don't like AI for artwork. Considering these are small indie brands and not big corporations, consequently people feel they are stealing work and money from real artists. Considering their milieu, I agree. Why can't I find any CXC reviews or swatches? I mean, even the channel has nothing. Very odd.

I have the original Danesa groundworks and i love it but boy are the pans smaller than i thought, so you kinda need a precise brush really. But it is my all and done especially perfect for travelling

It's okay to be disappointed, but there's no need to get hot and bothered. I'm tempted by the palette, but only because I don't have Divine Rose II! I'll probably wait around and see if it'll be included in one of her sales. Try not to be bothered by that person on Insta taking their frustration out on you (I saw your response post). There are so so so many of us who trust your integrity!
I'm in love with the Ethereal eyes palette by Mario. His brand was imposible to buy here, in Spain, whe he launched it.... Recently, Sephora Spain has started to sell the brand....the problem is ...75€!!! And never applies discount on the palette 😪😪

I have the Clio Kill Lash in brown & you're not wrong, that stuff DOES NOT come off. That has the opposite effect on me, l almost want to ditch it, l find l don't want to wear it as l know I'll need a 50 step cleanse to get it off 😆
It just feels like Pat isn't involved much in the creativity side of her brand since she brought in bigger investors - which makes all of her early fans sad. They arent putting out what she was/is famous for anymore. I agree it's not worth ranting about it on the PMG instagram because it is either ignored or deleted anyhow. 🤷♀️
Nah... Pat Mcgrath has completely lost it... I understand your hypothesis for the "we have to sell it all out now", but pricing it at 150$... Come on... They should have at least kept the regular mothership price. I feel like her entire brand is pivoting away from what her fantastic makeup portfolio is and is turning into something extremely overpriced, but relatively mediocre in terms of execution... So sad. This again could be completely wrong but I'm only going by what I've been told. I've seen a number of Content Creators review this and without giving anything away, it's a sight to behold. Stay up on that wagon and don't cave in for something as mundane as packaging! If you don't need bronzer, don't cave in because it's in a pretty compact. There will be plenty more pretty compacts to come. It hasn't been easy for me either, yet I'm doing pretty well. Just be realistic and know that there will be items that you will make an exception for. I checked up my past orders and discovered the 18-pan Byredo comes out in May, well it did last year. With how fast this year is going, we'll be there before we know it. Do your best to stay up here on the wagon with me and all the others struggling to not buy. Will-power my dear! I got the groundworks palette from the trend mood box and I’m still paralyzed when I look at it. The fact that you said you are intimidated makes me feel better bc your brain works so beautifully with these palettes. I will be getting the new pink/mauve groundwork but I’m going to side eye anyone that says they are over PMG and the pinks bc it’s obviously selling and desirable. I can’t wait to see the looks you create 🥰

I’m trying really hard to remember I have more eye palettes than anyone EVER needs and will last me for a lifetime. It’s so hard because there’s so much beautiful makeup out there and the FOMO is real. But I love this style video and would love to see more!

There are a couple eyeliners from Lisa that I have REALLY wanted and passed up at the time because I wanted to make one bigger purchase. I think this will be it. The pencil and liquid liners and the mascara. Yes please.

I also cyber window shop 😂. There’s so many launches now that it’s overwhelming but I take it as a chance to go into my collection and see if I already have something similar and can avoid buying anything new (doesn’t always work😅, but still good).
Just a note on the artwork: AI artwork is not the same as Digital Artwork. Digital artwork is still hand created by an artist it’s just the medium is technological versus pencil and paper. AI artwork just takes existing artwork from others and gets put together as “new” art. It’s a big debate within the art and entertainment industry and many of my friends that are being affected by AI have been very vocal against it.

This was a fun video, I hope you do more of these in the future! I feel very similarly to you about PMG - you would think that she came in and spray painted everyone's makeup collections hot pink by how heated people get over her releases.
I also agree with you about Lisa's new collection, it's not particularly exciting and $36 for a mascara is a tough sell when there's plenty of valid drugstore mascaras, and high to mid range mascaras that I can get at a decent discount. Maybe if she decides to do a discounted holiday bundle with the mascara I'd consider getting it.

People are so damn salty about the divine rose 2 palette in gold and I mean...I'm just not seeing THAT as the hill to die on with PML. When she opened the vault she had the gold starwars decadence. I would imagine she planned both of those a while ago as you touched on. In terms of egregious things that brand has done in the past what? 12 months? Sooo looking forward to your Florasis review, I’m always curious about that brand but despite other influencers saying (it’s good) I keep thinking (it’s the packaging). There’s so little non PR reviews but knowing your taste you’d be blunt about the quality matching up to the price.
As for Merit, it’s one of those brands that’s so minimal that I’ve only and off wanted you to try their products just so see how they look on your complexion since you’re my closest shade match in Makeup Reviewers I watch. No pressure though if you don’t want any influx of products

I have the original Danesa groundworks and i love it but boy are the pans smaller than i thought, so you kinda need a precise brush really. But it is my all and done especially perfect for travelling

Try not to be bothered by that person on Insta taking their frustration out on you (I saw your response post). There are so so so many of us who trust your integrity!

Nah... Pat Mcgrath has completely lost it... I understand your hypothesis for the "we have to sell it all out now", but pricing it at 150$... Come on... They should have at least kept the regular mothership price. I feel like her entire brand is pivoting away from what her fantastic makeup portfolio is and is turning into something extremely overpriced, but relatively mediocre in terms of execution... So sad.
