Liam Doran is a full-time professional outdoor photographer specializing in action sports, adventure travel, landscape, and wildlife photography who has been able to make a living doing what he loves. In this video, Liam will tell you his top tips on turning passion into a thriving, rewarding career.
Liam shoots commercially for numerous outdoor brands and today’s top outdoor websites and magazines. His work covers all aspects of outdoor mountain life including skiing, biking, trail running, fly fishing as well as travel and lifestyle. His images appear regularly in commercial advertising and in today’s top outdoor magazines including Powder, Outside, Ski, Skiing, Trail Runner, Mountain Magazine, and more.
Much of Liam’s work takes place deep in the backcountry where skills beyond the photographic are called into play. His photography is genuine, and all images are from a single shot. Furthermore, Doran eschews the modern practice of composites or sky-swapping. Instead, he relies on getting up early and staying out late to find the light that tells the story.
