    I’ve been watching your vids for years now, love the build videos which have kept me playing and tinkering with guitars at some very bad points in my life.
    So much so that I’m the guy who bought your red/yellow Strat with the Toneshaper kit in it some years back! 😊 It’s been passed on to a friend now.
    Please keep doing what you do if it’s possible, the government screws us on everything else they ain’t taking the music 🎸🎸
    All the best Tony

      Indeed I remember - that was a pretty cool guitar :). Government is taking the mickey. I have paid out to them all working life and even contributed 50 years of NI etc. Then they just stopped my pension? Idiots and charlatans. I'm sure that there is much more to come for the money that has taken me a lifetime to save. Very sad and that government removes freedom of speech and so much more. Your points are not lost on me ;-) and thanks for watching too.

      I picked up a Fender am pro 2 with a solid rosewood neck in a trade, and it's the best sounding Strat I've played. It's got a deeper, darker sound than the maple neck models with the same specs.

      I appreciate your comments greatly. Over the years I have made quite a few of these parts guitars and generally they have been interesting to complete. Further I go with them though its like I covered everything a number of times and I think of the audience maybe getting bored with basically the same builds (different parts I agree) and fitting the parts etc so of recent tiles I have shied off making them AND ha the wife... TELLS ME! (ouch) 'You've got enough guitars' she proclaims. I'm sure they all do.
      Here in the UK right now it really is painful re taxes, law and order, 'prison for commenting online', taking heating allowance from pensioners - I could go on, but I don't run a political channel. And I think it will decline further at the end of October when they have the 'budget' and proclaim how much everyone will be paying more for but they don't deliver the services after. They are all as bad. I have worked since I was 15 and still work (because I want to) in to my 70's. But today there are so many things to dislike - and my outpouring was and is really frustration at seeing hard earned money by the UK workers like me get wasted big time. Any way enough of that ;-) and thanks for watching. I get the point.

      Sometimes there can be problems, but most often easy enough to work around. Its great when its completed because you have had just a bit of 'you' as input in to the finished guitar. At least I always think that myself. A sort of achievement even if its just simple stuff. Thanks for the post and for watching.

      Dead right! Even as a parts guitar there is input fro you and somehow the finished result most guys would be proud of - at least I am. Its a great feeling to complete a guitar that works well and sounds great. Spot on. After building several "Fender" guitars, all out of high quality parts, you never really know what they will sound like. I've had several necks and bodies that never sounded great no matter what I did besides ditch them and try a new body or neck in it's place. Some parts sound great together, and some do not.

    • @tonymckenzieofficial
      @tonymckenzieofficial  3 месяца назад

      That's a point that I have seen once or twice over the years. That has happened to me with genuine Fender body. But other Fender bodies or necks were fine. No real reason - at least from what you can see from the parts. But most of mine end up really pretty cool. Good post and thanks for watching.

    • @TeleCaster66
      @TeleCaster66 3 месяца назад +1

      I could not determine why 2 necks I had were dead sounding (I tried them both on guitars that sounded good with thier respective necks), one was a newer Fender Esquire neck and one was a Musickraft neck and both companies make good necks obviously.
      I've spent a lot of money and time over the last 10 years putting Strats and Telecasters together and really learned a lot. The same species of body wood can sound very different too. I've actually found it difficult to put together guitars that are exceptionally good sounding but did make some that were really great. Doing things like changing the body only and such takes all the guesswork out of it. You can only change 1 thing at a time to truly know what that change did.

      Honestly, that's not the real problem. Here in the UK since June/July there is a strong feeling of being (or will be after October) hammered hard by a government for being successful - and trust me I pay every penny of tax which is substantial. It's really like the UK does not want entrepreneurs and as the second highest exporting country after China losing the wealthy and entrepreneurs (absolutely true!) - around 12000 by end of year, it says it all. Its not the money, its MAKING the money that is the problem. Thanks for your post and I always shied away from doing that as the objective was to always help people really. Thanks for watching.

    Regarding your mini political bit at the end: Yea. But you got to realise that they are *ALL* the same, so forget party politics. Democracy does not exist, and never really did. The only difference between them is the colour of their ties. They all went to the same public school and have been doing this 'debating' since before they joined a party. And made a big fat living out of it. Mummy and Daddy are pround. Now the rest of us just get on with it. Happy days. Happy building :)
