    Unfathomable mystery of the passion so much so that the evil one encouraged it not knowing what it would accomplish. When I pray the rosary m, my eyes are on the Eucharist : It helps my mind not to wander away in lala land. Sometimes I see my self in Golgotha, banging my head on the wood of the cross. I’ve asked God to change my sinful thoughts but he won’t hit me on the head with a two by four, maybe because he’s a three, a tree as the Irish might pronounce it and my head is harder than wood…. Only my heart can change, only his love can change it. Thank you brother, pray for me.

    Thanks Fr Columba! Can you do a video on how we should converse with Jesus? Would love to know how to talk to Him as both our friend and Creator? What is reverent to say and not? Thanks 😊

    Fr Chad Ripperger does say that all of the great mystics say that daily 15 mins meditation per day is the minimum needed to progress in the spiritual life. There are different ways of doing this: Ignatian daily examen, daily Gospel, meditating on a line from a Litany or teaching of the Magisterium, on the writing of a saint (eg: Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich’s visions of the Passion, Mary of Agreda’s vision of the Passion, Luisa of Picaretta’s visions of the Passion, lots of saints wrote their experiences for us to meditate on). 🙂

    Funny you mention this. I was meditating on different ways of the Passion and one was on the Trinity. I was thinking even before all of Creation was 13.5 billion years ago and in the age before all time, God the Father willed our salvation by Christ’s Passion. So that was forever and His love for us was before time before we existed. That’s just mind boggling!
    Thank you for this video. May you gave a very blessed Easter!

Also, anything written by St. Elizabeth of the Trinity will provide gems! Thank you, Father, for another amazing video! We are beyond blessed to have you!

    Thank you Fr for this video.
    I am given to one thought about the icon. Could not the centre figure be God the Father and the figure on the left be Christ Jesus because that would place Jesus at the right hand of God, in accordance with many bible passages?
    Just a thought.

    Rublev's Icon had me wondering - why are the three figures winged, and why does none of them have the nail wounds in the hands? In fact, the three figures are the three angels who visited Abraham at Mamre, but they also symbolize the Trinity as Father explained. I am further wonderstruck that this work of iconography, of which I was previously unaware, comes to me here and now, on a Good Friday 600 years after it was created, and blesses me with this beautiful revelation of our God. I won't blather further, but I recommend that all readers do just a little bit more research.

    That icon must represent the Three who visited Abraham. They look alike. The Son is the visible icon of the unseen Father. Christ, the anointed by the Spirit and who baptizes with the Spirit, was also the tangible face of the Spirit. Any icon of the Father should be represented by Christ the Son. The Father is the desiring heart or core of the Trinity who wills. The Son or Logos discerns and carries out the Father's will in creating the universe. The Spirit is the Father's omnipresent awareness of Himself and of the universe. The Logos is aided by the Spirit's awareness to differentiate the universe into being. The Spirit is the communing awareness between the Father and the Son. The Father is omnipotent, the Son is omniscient, and the Spirit is omnipresent.
    Our souls are made in the image (Son) and likeness (Spirit) of the Father. Our souls have a core or heart, a differentiating creating intellect or logos, and a spirit or awareness/self-awareness. As Paul mentioned, it is the spirit of a man who knows himself, and it is the Spirit of God who knows God. When we take on the mind of Christ, our logos communes with the Logos, our spirit becomes heightened with the Spirit, and our will becomes willing to the Father's will. Our tripartate souls become triune.

      Where did you get this? Thanks

    • @markpatterson2517
      @markpatterson2517 2 месяца назад

      @@mtocalcutta From the Scriptures and my own experiences in contemplation. The Scriptures reflect the soul, giving insight into the soul. Contemplation also gives a look into the soul. The Scriptures and contemplation reinforce each other. The more insight into the soul, the more understanding you have of Scriptures. The more insight you gain from Scriptures, the more understanding you have of the soul. The more you have the more you will receive. With contemplation you gain the eyes to see, the ears to hear, and the heart to comprehend.
