Stephen Jackson “Non-Lethal” is based entirely on what the mission end screen says. Blasting the duke like that doesn’t count as a kill to the game and so the end screen will still say 0 kills, thus non-lethal. Very arbitrary rule set but it’s easy to enforce.
I Don’t Know Jindosh and the Dukes deaths are different. The Dukes death is just a straight up coding bug that results from the game switching the target identities around, and as far as I know it ONLY works if you shoot him. If you stab him at that point it will still count as a kill. Jindosh’s death is different, he’s basically being killed by the environment (even though you dropped the elevator) not the player, and because you didn’t actually kill him “directly” it’s not considered a kill, however Jindosh is still dead so it triggers the target assassinated animation. well, when i was doing clear hands in dishonored 1 i wanted to sleepdart one assasin on the roof. And when i did, he fell off it being uncountioness, well, the game still states, that it is me, who killed him. Not the gravity. And in dishonored 2, at last level with delilah i knocket out some witches, but one i left in flooded 1st floor. There was like almost no water and she definetly couldnt go drown, and i am 1000% sure i didnt made any lethal actions to anybody else. Since, at some point i looked at my stats window, and it said - 1 kill.
There's actually a way to do the crown killer non lethal without the counter serum. Placing a flammable bottle under Hypatia and knocking her out causing her to fall on to the bottle as Crown killer resulting in a kill, BUT no counting against merciful.
I feel like a noob now, because I did non-lethal/ghost run in my first (and only) playthrough (took a lot of time), and I did upgrade mobility but never discovered that I could double jump. Fml.
I love the dishonored series, mainly just for the art style and the fact you can play take it from multiple approaches is good, but that shit at 2:00 god damn.

I'm not sure why people are claiming this is a legitimate speedrun. An actual speedrun is one continuous playthrough, regardless if you redo missions or die. It would be like me piecing together all of my best Super Mario Bros times.

I took 40 min on my first ghostly/merciful run but I played out the dialogues, waited to take Ramsay out once he walked into the next room via pouncing off the staircase. Also I took the trolly to leave dunwall. Lol I thought the speedrun was 30 min for the first mission. When in reality it was 30 min for the whole game, damn I'm super slow I took 23hrs to complete the game. But on my second run it took me 12hrs since I was slightly familiar with the layout.

The Speedrunning community generally regards glitches as fair play. If they game lets it happen then you are free to exploit

No, going outside the map is not cheating as the rules don't tell you not to do that. Using glitches is a vital part of speedrunning
