Wish I was allowed to go to Cuba. I find it fascinating. You drive and at times it looks like old Eastern Europe, then 1960! And no commercialism. No advertisements....no Fressbuden. LoL
i talked to some of the drivers and the cars are shiny and fancy on the outside, but the inside looks very bad. the problem is they don't find any spare parts anymore so they have to improvise. also - none of those cars have their original motor i've been told. they use all kinds of other motors (honda, lada, etc). nevertheless it's a great experience riding in one of those.
It's likely that some of the cars do have the original motor but it would have most likely been rebuilt one or two times since the 50's unless it hasn't been driven once.
this is my neighborhood in Nuevo vedado. Every time I visit I see the nice cars and wonder where they're taking y'all. Now I see it in 1st person POV. very cool.
All are true, but one: the pollution. Even though there are so few cars, there's so much smoke coming out of them, that you can barely breath when they pass you. They are so old and don't fulfill any modern standard when it comes to pollution. Havana is lucky though to be next to the ocean, so there's always wind to take the smoke away.
@@CrafterSven For me, the 70s were the worst, pollution-wise, in America. So many cars, so many huge traffic jams, no environmental protections. Coal was still a thing. Cities burning garbage for electricity etc etc ad nauseum.
You don't know what you are tal king about. Go and live there for a few months and you will realize how destroyed are the house of cubans, which fall aparte every day killying people like three kids who died from the fall of a pie e of wall. This is just the touristic side, the criminal dictators of Cuba build hotels where there were living people before that now live in unhealthly shelters. Aparte all of that there is no food and it is as expensive as in a modern country and the average cubano earns 20 dolars at month. I am cuban and I live away from my country cause I had to scape from that horrible system. Cuba is a beautiful country destroyed by the Castro regime
@@aramisrodriguez7858 No one wants to hear your sob story and terrible Spanglish about how your grandpa wasn't allowed 3 plantations, gusano. Go back to Miami.
When I was there in 2008 the main streets were not too bad but the side streets were. Also broken pavement and few street lights meaning one has to watch one’s step. Still, the best way is to explore on foot and to get away from the tourist areas; a local guide is helpful!
If Cubans were to choose, I'm sure most of them would get better cars. They are not allowed to buy new cars. Even those old ones have most of their parts already replaced by parts from newer cars.
They are literally everywhere. The street-side of most buildings looks decent, but the interior and backside are awful. Walking through Havana and other cities will show a completely different perspective. It's such a nice island, but the people are so poor.
can I use this for a video I have planned? Not coming like right now, but I plan on using footage from one of these videos showing the old and new cars together.
Te quiero y te amo mi patria linda. Tirano asqueroso y dictador.
I was oddly comfortable watching this video in comparison to other Carib videos. Then it dawned on me , they are drive on the RIGHT side of the road, on some carib isles its the LEFT which to me is odd
This guy ( driver) is the worst guide in the world he passed so many historical places and he didn’t even try. Museums the Chinese cemetery, and others wonderful places. He only pointed to hospitals. Needless to say as Habanera that route he took is the worst I doubt this guy is a native habanero
Cuba is not depressing at all. It's a wonderful place. It's just that the people there are very poor and suffering because of the governments of Cuba and USA.
If only Fidel listened it wouldn't be that way. I've always wanted to visit Cuba but I heard they hate Americans and would rather not get abducted or shot. We did invade them in 1961 though and tried to assassinate Fidel so it's understandable I guess. Also in 1963 we nearly went to nuclear war with them and the USSR.
I don't like to criticize what people listen to. But I have to agree. I can enjoy it in small doses but the idea hearing it being everywhere, all the time...even while sober...shudder.

Wow look at those cars. They're old but they seem to be kept quite well.

No gridlock, no pollution, no road rage, no disgusting fast food outlets and rarely a fat person.

Video shows a very clean city. Well done.
Wow Havana Cuba looks really amazing just like how it was in the game Driver 2
Thank you for posting this. All the videos I see of Cuba are these narrow streets that look like you are walking in an alley.
Yes, they have both - narrow alleys in the old part of town and large boulevards in the newer parts.
This guy can actually drive. Conduces muy bien! 👍
It feels just like it does in Driver 2. Without the police on your tail.
Hello Andrei. Thanks for sharing Cuba for free. Now a have a different idea of Cuba, Normally we just see the same suburbs full of poverty.

It's so weird that half of the cars are from around 2000, and that the other half are from the 40s-60s

Great ❤️ . What about visa . Passange can get it in airport ?
No. You need to procure a visa before taking off, otherwise you can't enter the country.
Your heart is in Havana?
That cemetery is HUGE!
Yes, it's one of the largest in the world. You can look up Cristobal Colon Cemetery Havana.

I agree. Same was valid for 2018. And I also liked walking all the unknown streets and districts.

Are they ever getting new cars
how many russian cars lada 2101, azlk moskvich 412 and volga 24
How much longer will the classic cars be on the road

Where are all those buildings, they say, are falling apart?
