Congratulations on 50k! And to those that those that mentioned Bradley's pipes looking '' dirty''. That's what happens when you smoke a pipe. If you don't want them to look like they've been smoked, don't smoke them.
I used to worry about my pipes the same way I worried about my guitars. At some point, I realized I'd never be selling any of them and started thinking of them as part of me and my life rather than as a collection I was simply holding for a period of time. Life is so much better when you stop worrying and start appreciating the stains, scratches, and scuffs- Like scars, they hold memories and in many ways the imperfections and wear of the pieces (more so than the pieces themselves) become the true collection. Hope this makes sense. I apologize if it's overly pretentious. 😅 It's 4am and I couldn't sleep, so I'm having a smoke on the porch- Freezing my ass off and watching Stuff and Things. Congrats on the 50k, Bradley
I have one question and one suggestion. The question is what's the difference between a plug, a flake, and a crumble cake? The suggestion is you should do a video comparing fuseliers ration to Bengal slices because fuseliers ration was originally made to be a recreation of the original Bengal slices before it came back on its own. My understanding is that when Bengal slices came back they had it blended by the same guy that recreated it as fuseliers ration.
Thanks for the suggestion! A plug is a tightly compressed mass of tobacco that needs to be cut and rubbed out to use. A flake is basically a cut plug. A crumble cake is similar to a plug, but usually not made of whole leaves, and it's easy to tear of a chunk with your fingers and rub it out. Without getting too in depth.
would love to see an updated pipe cleaning video both daily and deep clean. I feel like when I run pipe cleaners through the stem I can never get it to come out fully white and clean. Thanks Bradley!
It's not the algorithm anymore. That's SO 5 years ago. Forget those old sayings and realise the computer has been changed and now you're getting spoilt by it and you're forced into going to all parts of your RUclips channel features.
Bradley - just saying, really enjoying the working channel - reminds me of my younger days when I had calluses on my hands, a farmers tan and a sense of satisfaction at the end of hard days work. Thanks and keep it going 50k 🎉 👍
Bradley, on pipes, I have been this way almost from my beginning smoking pipes. Yes it's nice to have pipes look brand new, but it is a lot of work (especially with how much I smoke!) and I found it making the hobby less enjoyable. At the end of the day, pipes are tools and I use them as such -- to derive enjoyment from tobacco!
never had dunhill and most likely won't since they are as good as castellos my favorite is Oom Paul shape 97 4k virgin searock finish It was the first castello that I bought in dec 2021.it was 2007 production unsmoked. best smoker especially for escudo rubbed. Ever since I bought bunch of castellos but they don't smoke as good as this one
Bradley 😊🌱 I learned over a pleasant bowl of Peterson Wild Atlantic in a pleasant social setting. The end of the world only happens when filming conditions are optimal. mac.
Bradley, I was smoking Filmore the other day. Literally 3 days ago, and it crushed me. Nicotine sickness. I’ve smoked it many times before, and never had a problem. It was also in the afternoon, so I was not on an empty stomach. The jar I have of it is from 2021 so it has a couple years on it also. The only thing I can think of is I smoked it this time in a deeper bowl pipe then I usually do. Needless to say I won’t be doing that pipe & tobacco combo ever again.
@@stuffandthingsyoutube oh man I’m going to have to try it again in a small bowl soon and see. That would just be bizarre if it’s gaining in strength. It’s alive! Lol
yeah Fillmore is great for sure. I recently tried it after watching your elizabethan replacment journey. I think it's actually more of what I been seeking out all this time
I'm more in your camp now that I've been piping awhile. Btw have you ever tried a horn stem? I have a Ropp pipe with a stem horn, it's really quite nice as it softens as you're using it since it's a natural material.
Congrats on 50K! Polaroids are certainly a interesting medium, I personally don’t like how modern polaroids look I prefer modern 35mm film which is smaller but way better in terms of image quality and economics but you probably remember the hassle with labs and stuff for developing but I do it and love it. And for the pipe it looks ok for its age, wear and tear is inevitable but it’ll smoke like yesterday as simple as pipes are even though over zealous peter pipers will try to say otherwise.
Hey Bradley, congrats on 50k subs! I subscribe to worse channels with far more subscribers than you, so the number of subs certainly isn't always an indicator of quality content. Keep doing what you do, and thank you! PS, working is also highly underrated.
What I do with the pipes that I use a softy bit on: after every single smoke, I remove the softy bit from the stem, and then I clean the bit and the stem under running water for a few seconds, to get rid of any saliva and whatever else nasty stuff from my lips that's sticking on there. It just became a part of my after smoke cleaning routine since I started using these softy bits, about 10 years ago. You can just wash the stem without removing the softy bit first, but that doesn't really get rid of all the saliva that's trapped underneath the bit. Better than not washing it at all though. Call me anal, but I just want all my pipes to be as fresh, and clean, and hygienic as possible, at any time. And I kept it like that for over 20 years of pipe smoking, and I have almost 40 pipes right now.
Congratulations! Fully deserved, you always have great content. To the next part of the video… I feel guilty, I’m sorry for that but, it's only out of sympathy and curiosity ;)
_"Hah! Check this out, Earl! Of course he doesn't take care of his pipes, what was I thinking?!"_ _"He probably scuffs and burns them himself right away after buying brand new, to give them a used up look... probably just after cutting holes in his jeans with scissors, too."_ _"And it's probably expensive jeans from some British luxury designer brand he does unintentional voice acting for, on the side."_ _"God almighty! Can you be any more of a hipster doofus?!"_ _"Well, Earl, kids these days think this worn out style is hip and fashionable."_ _"Darn kids. They better stay off my lawn."_ _"Damn right."_
My solution for pipe aesthetics? I just use a lot of dark rusticated pipes for my regular smokes. Nothing to go dull or looked burned.
Good call!
Congratulations on 50k! And to those that those that mentioned Bradley's pipes looking '' dirty''. That's what happens when you smoke a pipe. If you don't want them to look like they've been smoked, don't smoke them.
Great point!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!! Congrats Bradley it's amazing to see our community grow. I'm so happy for you :D
Cheers!
And you're happy about me and my life too.
Great!
I'm happy now. 😊

Not pretentious at all! I agree with you. Thanks for watching!

Late to the party again, but congrats on 50K subscribers. It's cool being an OG viewer and seeing how far you've come in these last 8 ish years.
I know! It’s been great having you for so long!

Noted!
Congratulations on 50k! That's an amazing milestone given how the algorithm treats pipe content
Thanks so much!

Much appreciated, and I'm glad you like working!
But you're living in the mines of mordor.
You can't get a tan... 😮

Congrats on 50k! Looks like the empty space on the wall (over your shoulder) will have a RUclips play button on it before we know it.
Haha! There's a ways to go, but I think we'll get there!
Congrats on 5k subs on the main channel, and also 1k sub on Working as well!
Thanks!
Rubber softy bits are like IPA beers: people love them or hate them. I’m a lover of them both. And 35 of my 39 pipes have acrylic stems.
Congratulations for the 50k subs! One of the gems of my pipe collection is a 1898 Peterson I found on eBay
Wow! What a find!
@@stuffandthingsyoutube Yes, I was lucky 🙂
Congratulations on hitting 50k.
I tend to favour rusticated pipes as im prone to knock them about and you dont see the dints and dings as well.
Great point!
Congrats on 50k subscribers! On to 100k.

I think you sold me on Polaroid. 2 dollars per photo is not bad as per pic for waiting 15 minutes. So worth it!
I think so too!

Hi Bradley, would be awesome if you do a tutorial on spa treatment for pipes

Congratulations on 50k!! 🎉 Do pipes have to look "good"??
Thanks! Haha! I guess that's up to the individual.

It is! I used the black one yesterday!
Congrats on 50K!

If I had easy access to a darkroom, like I did in college, I'd be all over 35mm!
