Even today, I still play Doom. Anytime when Im burnt out, I load up a quick game and play for 10 min. John Romero is a legend.

Plutonia experiment ultraviolence is the only doom I can play anymore... Everything else became boring in comparison

@@Gator159 There are so many fun fan made wads these days. Sunlust is a popular one. I usually play with mods. Check out project brutality 3.0. They have so many modes as well.

Doom Guy: Life in First Person is also available as an audiobook, narrated brilliantly by John Romero. It's an excellent autobiography and account of John's life & game development history.

I was surprised to not hear anything about the late years, especially my favourite game of all, Romero Games’ Empire of Sin. I would still love to see its 2nd DLC

Great podcast. John, I had a Kaypro 2X with a CPM operating system as a high school student. I remember the Woompus and others as well. I still have some of the s/w (5.25 disks). I spent a lot of time working with that computer, it was amazing.

44:37 Hilarious! This is why John Romero and Id are the GOAT's... We put out a press release saying this will be the greatest game the Earth as ever seen....even before writing it.

it's the first time I've heard about the word hyperthymesia .but I really gotta say that I think it might be what a normal person should be like .I mean the commercial world of the modern era makes people to forget things so fast because they are loosing focus on matters constantly .that's why the people who are tending to make more focus on things that matters to them sorta breaking the jail of alzhymer and also becoming more powerful mentally .I think it's going to be the best if the leaders of the world should be like this.
