My dream car is a 1978 280z and I just can’t find one. After watching this video I have fallen in love with the 280zx and now I am about to buy an 83 zx and I want to do a similar build. Thx Man U have inspired me
I am glad you found my video and build inspirational for your life thanks man! I would say look for a good zx with good body panels and minimal rust issues because those will be expected with these older cars!

I'm working on taking ownership of a silver 82zx 5sp.turbo. 100% original. 70 .000. Never seen a drop of rain and the original paint has one 3/4 in scratch thT was there .it was a dealer showroom display car . Still has that new car smell when you sit in it! It is unbelievable! Like your z !!!!!!

bruce713 no prob man.. 280zx was my first car in high school .. I had a 2+2 and gold 81 2seater..your a inspiration man.. I've moved on to a 92 c4 vette 6 speed vette in holding now.. Bout I respect what your done to the Datsun.. That's my roots!!.. Keep it up..

Almost like studying for a test ahead, better research leads to better understanding in what works for your build style

I had and still own 280z. Have for 40years. 40'z 80's. ZX's 2+2z's. 12 in all. and 1 300z. All factory original !

dude before my first year of uni, my dad and I traveled across a few provinces to pick up 3 s130 chassis (I believe they are s130, didn't get to look at the vins to find out) and this build has been insane inspiration I love what you've done with your car, it's amazing and I hope to build something similar one day. for now the cars are sitting in storage while we try to get a shop set up and ready to work on the cars. Can't wait.

It funny your car has projectors in the front dancing techno house ,tail lights out back yet it seems to fit this car like it was made for it .They don't look like random bolt on parts it all looks meant for this car. Great build on this car a true one and only.It should be entered into the sema show for a video game car it's that kick ass and unique.

Love the look of your build besides the spoiler and rear hatch. The spoiler is nice, but I like the zxr whale tail and the Pantera hatch isn't my thing, but with your set up looks nice. I own 2 280zx's a 79 and an 82. I'd like to do something similar to how you did yours, but would like to know if you have an updated link to the rear diffuser. If I can stop from making one I will. Once again beautiful build I'm sure it's a blast to drive. Mine sure are. The 82 has a 450hp turbo l28 and 79 is stock. 82 will be destroyer gray with gloss black accents. The donor car for the turbo engine has a 6.1 hemi and 6spd manual making 650hp. The s130 chassis is the best chassis z the closest one to it is the z32 and the new 400z

Love the 280zx build you've got going on. I've been kinda torn between the fender flairs and different body kits, but recently I've been going back to thinking about going with just flairs. Saw a set of 3.25 inch front and 3.75 inch rear wide ZG flairs I think I might just end up using anyways. Was wondering if maybe that's what you were running on your ZX, being as I was thinking of running 16x9.5 -25 offset up front with 245/45s and a 16x10.5 -32 offset in the rear with 275/45s. Kinda shied away from them first time around, because I know the ZX has naturally wider fenders, and know they can fit 16x8s with no offset all around fine.

Hey man, I know this is a long shot but how did you fit your fenders on your Z, can’t find them anywhere and most forums say that zg flares will fit and some say they don’t so I was a little confused
so it seems like he actually modded them a bit, and you will more than likely have to mod a lot of stuff on a car as old as this.

Absolutely love your 280zx, good to see there are others who appreciate it along with the other Z's. I have a question, I just purchased a 280zx and I have been looking for a ducktail spoiler and I see that the link is from MSA and not "technically" for the 280zx. How did you go about installing it? My Z does not come with a spoiler so it does not have mounting holes. Just wondering if you had to do anything special to fit it for the 280zx. Thanks!
I had to measure the holes from the spoiler and transfer that onto the hatch of my Zx and drill away

Hi do you know if the s30 front custom bumpers fit on the s130 also how much did it cost to get that s130 to look really nice
I don't think the s30 will fit cause the zx is wider and longer than the s30 so I wouldn't do that unless you can do body work to cut and extend etc. im at about 17k maybe in the total cost

(It defenetly will be hard, because i live in Germany) So my question is, do the Bodyparts for 260Z and 280Z fit the 280ZX? By the way, your 280ZX is my absolute favourite out there!

Are most body kits from the s30 compatible with the s130? I’m getting my 280zx next week and want flares, duckbill spoiler, front bumper, and widow slats but I’m not sure if the slats and bumpers would be for all z’s

What airbag setup do you have? May have been answered already didn’t look, and is the modified hatch legal to pass inspection or do you change it out?
Where did you get your tail light assemblies? I have looked everywhere for some new ones for my '83 and don't seem to have any luck

lol oh yeah they're hard to find direct bolt on stuff but the market is coming around slowly as more and more z's and zx's are being bought up by the younger generations

Bruce, the link for the ZG flares got taken down! Is there any place that sells them?
Ahh I had no idea, thats unfortunate. I dont think the seller was able to keep up with demand and got backed up and people started complaining. I am in process of talking to other companies to see if we can get something together for future 280zx owners who want to add wide flares to their builds. I would try eBay in the mean time if you want or check 280zx Drivers on Facebook to see if anybody has any for sale.
