I appreciate you saying that it is top heavy and may tip over. The TRX4 defender had a real issue with it being top heavy. Makes me want to go with something closer to the ground, like the trx4 sport

I went with the Sport myself and have been very happy with it. The '79 Bronco and Blazer are also good options, since they have lighter bodies with no roof-mounted stuff.

I may not be a traxxas guy but that's a good looking truck.
I know that park at the beginning haha.
Filming in my neck of the woods are we hahaha.
    Great job man.

I have a set of the intercoastal super swamper 2.8 in a bag still do you think they would fit it I would like to see that I think that's how big foot got started and would make one a nice tribute to the original at home monster truck 😊

      @bchobbies  Год назад +2

Yep, I think they would fit if you use the wider of the two hub options they come with.

$750? Where are you buying your rigs from?
I paid $550 for my Brown f150 version about a month ago at my local hobby store! I was thinking that was a little steep as well but worth it for the cool factor!
Traxxas needs to get with the program and upgrade the electronics the brushless at some point!

The $750 price is in Canadian dollars. $550 is the US price.

Unfortunately, we are a small hobby shop and can't afford to do giveaways.

Window stickers are an absolute deal brea3for me I'm afraid.!
    It really spoils an RC.
Why not make them clear & put the stickers in separately.?
The price Traxxas is asking is also just ridiculous.

    • @bchobbies
      @bchobbies  Год назад

The window stickers are necessary with some colors because of the manufacturing process. I'm told that Traxxas screen-prints the metallic colors on the Lexan before it's vacuum-formed into the shape of the body, so there's no way to mask off the windows and leave them clear. While it is possible to remove the paint from the inside of the body, a much easier solution would be to cut the windows out and glue in a clear piece of scrap Lexan. As for the price, keep in mind that the quoted $750 figure is in Canadian dollars, which translates to about $550 in US dollars.

@@bchobbies Yeah, that makes total sense with those bodies that are printed before they're formed.
I've had bodies in the past where you can clearly see that they either weren't lined up correctly for printing, cutting or forming.
The thing is, other (often "cheaper") manufacturers can do it, so if Traxxas wanted to I'm certain they could.
I just bought an Absima Bronx (Yikong Bronco) 1/8 crawler that's as well, if not better, designed, built & durable as a TRX4 for £499 here in the UK.
The TRX4 sells for up to £700+.!!!
Even the new Sport High Trail goes for £460.!!
(even just the kit is £370)
That's simply far far too much money for me to be able to comfortably pay.!
I only paid £550 for my 1/8 Traction Hobby Cragsman Jeep (I highly recommend btw.. only problem is parts delivery) which is almost entirely made from aluminum & steel, came with alloy beadlocks, fully functional lighting, runs on 4S, has a huge 775 motor & has even more features (2wd/4wd/fwd/rwd/high/low/independently locked/unlocked diffs) than the TRX4.!
I'm certainly not saying Traxxas are bad, far far from it in fact... they're (mostly) extremely good, I've thoroughly enjoyed & praised each one I've owned... I especially love the 2 & 4wd Slash platforms, they're really hard to beat in all areas.. except price.!! both initial purchase & spare parts prices. (parts availability is excellent btw)..
I paid £260 for my last Slash Raptor (cheapest Slash is £245), that was from Germany... The UK would've been £300.!
It's not technically Traxxas's fault, it's our ridiculous taxation system.. I think it's around 20% percent sales tax & around 20% import duty.!!!
Wherever the fault lies the end result is the same.. Traxxas are simply way over priced in the UK.... It's a real shame too because I would definitely own more Traxxas RCs but because I'm on a budget I just can't justify paying so much when I know I can get equally good or better RCs for much less.
Hobao are a great example, I own 6 of them & I would honestly rate some of their RCs above Traxxas for design, performance & durability, especially their 1/8 models... The Buggies & Truggies they make are fantastic.! better than Arrma & the Sledge in my opinion.
Best of all... They do 80% rollers.!!! 👍 👍 👍
I paid £245 for my 1/8 scale Hobao Hyper SST Truggy roller, threw a Rocket 4092 1700kv? motor & a Hobbywing 6S 150 Amp ESC in & for way less than half the price of an Arrma or Traxxas, I've got a better RC (imho).
Even their RTRs are extremely good value.. £400 SST versus £780 Sledge.!
Anyways, I'm sorry for the super long reply... I tend to get a bit excitable when it comes to anything RC.... It's hard not to really.. it's only the best thing mankind has ever created.! 😂 😂 😂
The main thing is... ENJOY YOURSELF.!!
Whatever puts a grin on your face & gives you joy & satisfaction is grand with me..!
If you can afford it.. GO FOR IT.!!
      Stay safe out there mate & best wishes from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🙏 ♥ 📻 🎮 🔋 🚓 🚒 🚑 🚐 🚔 🚕 🚖 🚗 🚘 🚙 🚚 🚛 🚜 🏎️ 🏍️ 🚤 🛥️ ✈️ 🛩️ 🚁.!
