Sheffield born and bred, our city is grossly underrated. Yes, we have a lot of industry, I still work in steel manufacturing and proud to say I do in this famous city. Honestly, deserves more credit. The largest Theatre district outside London too 😊
Honestly, Sheffield is best the only city in UK. Especially the movie called "Threads" since nuclear warheads was target Sheffield. The movie was 40 years ago since "Threads" was released in 1984.
I admire how Sheffielders are proud of their city. I was born and raised there and shared that opinion. Then I travelled and settled elsewhere. How it could possibly be highly rated as a tourist destination beyond my comprehension.
Because people appreciate green spaces and slower pace of life , as well as quaint cafes plus all the modern commodities, I used to live in central London, very busy and hectic and Sheffield is like heaven
Sheffield's worst enemy is it's unpretentiousness. It doesn't shout like it's neighbours of Manchester & Leeds. But once you've discovered its secrets you're hooked like many visitors find and won't want to leave! I love your style guys. You definitely need more subscribers. By the way behind the green tardis is an old underground toilet which has been converted into a cocktail bar called Public. So there is sort of a secret club behind the tardis...
Oh wow we knew there had to be a secret club behind that thing 😂 you’re absolutely right, we have been a few times and we think it is a very underrated city but we love it. Any recommendations of things we missed for when we come back again?
Yep this exactly. I've lived in Sheffield for... well too many years to comfortably say and even as a local you are always discovering its hidden secrets both old and new. Its greatest charm and thing that holds it back is it doesn't make a fuss, just cracks on. Its cool in the truest sense of the world and doesn't need to shout about it. Alas it kinda does with Leeds and Manchester on the doorstep constantly screaming how cool they are 9(and thus not actually being cool!). The city I was happy to spend my wild years in and also the city I want to bring my children up in. Really is the best of all worlds and the old door city. Thanks for making it look as amazing it is in ya video.
I do enjoy my Sunday mornings with you guys on your fun adventures. You’re great guides and are making the planning of a trip to Britain more difficult to map out (in a good way 😊).
Beautiful, diverse city with a great pub scene, great food scene, countless parks and easy access to the Peaks. I am from Rotherham next door which I hate. But I will always be proud of Sheff.
Old Queens head, the oldest commercial building in the City, and the Dove and Rainbow, whose history dates back to the 17th century and the current one is the 3rd after 2 before were both destroyed. 1782 and 1958. My 2 favourite pubs and they're very contrasting to each other. Also Sheffield has a rich football history and has bragging rights to being the home of football.
Thanks 👍 we are realistic with our expectations but we always try and seek out the positive when travelling which usually leaves us pleasantly surprised!
Some bits are nice and some bits are very deprived and run down, nice hills and views around Sheffield, people are friendly in the shops and restaurants, supertram is good but downtown is a building site full of dodgy people!!
We're in the throws of yet another city centre development scheme but we've been assured (again) by the powers that be that when it's finally completed it will look great. Watch this space as they say...
It's quite a common thing to have a long weekend away in Europe because everything is so accessible. A couple of hours on a plane/train and you're in a totally different country.
Were you in the WWII house backyard section of Kelham Island Museum (where you saw the outhouse) when the air raid siren went off? If not, then you missed quite a haunting experience.
"Does your hirsutus you sir?" 😂😂 Somebody give these two a comedy show! Brewski looked amazing! Sheffield eh? Who would've thunk it. Great one as always. Bit of a shame you didn't run into Def Leppard!
Didn't know that sheffield is that nice ,we once went shopping there in the city there is a huge shopping mall.Nice video boys ,thank you, seems you've had a lovely day.I like the big green house ,looks nice!greetings from freezing hamburg🥶
It really is a gem! Such an incredible city with so much to see and do. Could easily spend a few days there. It’s a little chilly here too but summer is coming 🤞🏻
Nice video guys you have been to a few cities now, Will you be returning to Birmingham anytime soon I went recently and did the same sort of things as you guys it was fun. 👍
Hi George, yes Birmingham is on our list to get back to as you know the weather really scuppered our plans last time. We hoping to get there during the summer 😊
We would be a great city if not for the worst city council in England, next time come see suburban Sheffield it shows it’s worth as the greenest but when it comes to the city centre, it’s far behind other city’s
Born and bred sheffielder here. Take a trip down page hall, spital hill, firvale firth Park, haymarket. What shit holes. And not to forget the moor now thats full of gangs and looks like beiruit.
Funny you should joke about the police box being the entrance to a secret club. Just to the left of the police box is a set of stairs and a lot of locals don't even know this. Go down the stairs and there's an award winning cocktail bar called public in what was once the women's public toilets
Amazingly, my negative comment about this vid was taken down a day later. So, lets see if the same thing happens again on the open forum of You Tube......................................

Sheffield is indeed a great city. Unfortunately it also has a high percentage of drug users. I got threatened with a machete before having my wallet grabbed.
Take the blinkers off Thirty years ago maybe. Today take a walk from Waingate to the Moor via high street poor quality shops drunks and druggies absolute disgrace

I live in Sheffield. We can meet up and we can do a tally of all of them and compare how many are white Brits and how many are immigrants
You are joking right? The city smells of weed and cigs, it stinks. Carling spilt beer Sheffield. Beggars everywhere. Streets blocked off with concrete blocks. Department stores are all but gone. No investment, just dull dull dull. Decent Eats and drinks is above average at best in some pubs. Vapour shops mobile phone shops, betting shops and strange noodle bars replace the once great shops of the 60s,70s,80s and 90s. everything boarded up and in December Christmas lights cover a turd in Wainegate. No Wilko no nothing but dismal bleak city centre nothingness.
There’s lots of investment, Cambridge street, Kelham, the high street have all seen a lot of development and investment in recent years. The East Asian food is some of the best food in the city and the drug users are all natives. Sheffield was in decline in the 70s and 80s when the iron and steel was outsourced from abroad instead of locally
@@SM-fk5orYou call urine infested streets an investment? The air is poisoned with cigarette smoke, vomit, and weed. Kelham also had a gun DRUG gang battle a few years ago and the city shops sell crap that nobody wants. Think of this another way. Who goes Sheffield city town centre unless they pass through for hospital appointments or travel via Midland station.

Hopefully we have inspired you to do so now Tony, it’s a very underrated city.
Definitely realised it was over COVID - the walking and rides around the city are unbelievable!! What a place to live ❤
I got married in that town hall last year :D
then had pictures in the winter gardens

Fun video as usual but didn’t quite understand you. It was ranked 2nd best city break in Europe? What is a city break?
A city break is a term used to describe a short trip to a city, like a long weekend.
It's quite a common thing to have a long weekend away in Europe because everything is so accessible. A couple of hours on a plane/train and you're in a totally different country.
