This is some of the most beautiful scenery ever! I have lived at 10-400 feet above sea level and between 47 and 67 degrees F. temperatures all of my long life. Last year we had record highs in the nineties and I suffered heat exhaustion and had to leave my grandson's wedding reception. I might never be able to visit these beautiful hills and valleys, so thank you for driving me through them. And no biting flies this way!

Rusty, i have brothers, a sister, kids and a wife that never are interested in what im interested in. They have no clue how i think, feel, or see the world and they dont care. Im by myself in my head and it use to bother me, but now im getting to that point where i like being me, myself and I. 🍻

Climbed to Wheeler Peak via the Bull of the Woods Trail nine times. Spent the night three times during the summer. Its really not all that bad. No special equipment needed other than good hiking boots and a walking stick you can pick up from almost any pile of downed trees. The top is above the tree line and cold at night even in the summer

Oh man you are right. Drove up to Cloudcroft on the 4th and it was only about 75 and the cabin was so hot. Just standing in the sun felt like you were on the BBQ.

The critters you are referring to as ground hogs are actually prairie dogs. Ground hogs, which are very common here in the East, are much larger and tend to be more solitary, rather than communal like prairie dogs.

In the winter this lake freezes over. Folks drive golf carts and smaller ATV's out onto the lake to go ice fishing. Its an eerie sight to see! The lake is up to 90 feet deep, thats about a 10 story building! A few years ago a guy caught a northern pike about 4 feet long! These fish are non native and considered invasive its illegal to throw them back in.

    Beautiful!
    As I swelter in Florida
I wonder how climate change will change the winters in New Mexico.

It wont change it one bit in your lifetime or the lifetime of many unborn generations to come.

Back in the late 60's there were many commercials on local TV regarding buying property in a new resort called Angel Fire!!!! If mom and dad had only followed through with a property purchase!!! It was an ungodly sum of $4,000!!! There isnt a "strip" of little tourist shops to walk around to like there is in Red River, Taos and even Eagle Nest.

What an absolutely gorgeous drive. Something just does not add up. All I hear is how poor New Mexico is and then I look at property prices.🧐😳

After you buy the property...then you are poor!
