That's a warm and fuzzy farty sound from the Blue classic DMU there, how comforting that was when swaying gently from side to side on the dusty deep sinking seats, was always like going back to the womb 😂 , great memories, thanks again
Brings back memories of my student days. All those trips to Southampton (sorry), and back. I can't remember a single train ever arriving less than an hour late 🤣
And a brand new 90014 with the, thankfully, proper size numbers they'd started to apply following the brief period of the silly tiny ones on InterCity locos
I was surprised to see the tow sets of Class 304's at the start... which then became THREE! This must have been a morning visit because the only time 304's (and later 305's) operated in pairs was on ECS workings from Longsight in preparation for the morning peak, or after about 7pm when the evening peak was over and trains went to hourly, and units were paired up for ECS back to Longsight. Incidentally, it used to be the same case for Class 323's, but in the last few years they've started being used on Manchester to Liverpool stoppers alongside pairs of Class 331's. This was a almost blast from the past for me. My first visit to Manchester Piccadilly was New Years day 1991, before my family and I made Manchester our home in the Sprint of 1991, and it's still my home today!
Aproximatly the year I visited piccadilly I remember the train types well especially the old blue trains cl 303s and also all the british built locos how sad it makes me feel to see the loss of all the variety
@@buddmetroliner200gaming3You will appreciate that the footage was taken on an old vintage camcorder with a small single chip and the colour definition was not too brilliant in those bygone years as it is nowadays. I have re rendered the footage to make it as best as possible with colour correction using white balancing, but many thanks and best wishes for your continued interest.....please do not stop watching as the quality is improving and hopefully the content...Best regards...Mark

Class 303 & 304 in multiple? 🤨 Didn't know they could. They certainly couldn't operate the doors on the 303s from the 304.
Yes I believe a similar problem existed with 508s when on the Southern.......I even learnt the 508s in 1982/3.....thanks Andrei...Mark
Wait what if u made a 360 version of one of ur videos of trains in manchester 1980 ones
Many thanks but my edit suite does not support 360....Best wishes....Mark
Why did most old electric trains have wires attached at the back where their corridor connection is
To couple to other units when the need for passenger space was required....many thanks Budd....Mark
The blue trains sounds on the rails sometimes sound like someone wearing metal boots
Many thanks and sincere regards...Mark
Didnt the 311s and 303s had beeping sounds when doors were closing like when they were in thier un refurbished look
I seem to remember most of the EMUs were fitted with beeping doors later on.....best wishes....Mark
@@spompey the 311 and 303 are somewhat brothers because of their twin looks

12:21 are those wires and an unconnected doorway attached to the 303
