Guys your instrumentals of EVERYTHING NOT SAVED pt1 are crazy! its been 5 years since the release that ive been asking you to release them as separate tracks to enjoy! maybe for an album anniversary u could do it? especially "moonlight"!
I loved the story and intentions behind I’m Done With the World. My favorite song on the record probably. This guys are awesome and I can’t wait for part 2.
a great song hands down but doesn't it sound a little bit too much like Kid A? to me, it feels like their best song should be more unique and not remind of some other artist to that extent
3 times beginning to end. Don’t want to overplay it before I see them in Toronto, April 22nd. Incredible album and in my opinion their best and most cohesive record to date. Can’t wait for part 2.
From someone who has Total Life Forever as their favourite album ever, I really cannot see what is great about this new album. It sounds like a rough collection of b-sides for the most part. The melodies are weak and most of the songs don't go anywhere. They've used a few slightly new ''sounds', but other than that its all quite bland. I find an interview like this a little embarrassing because the album seems so incomplete and average! To those who 'love' it, what's all the fuss?
I'd argue it's the well thought out concepts and lyrcis, I think the songs are quite inventive and they sound amazing production wise. I also feel there is something for all their fans on this album. Interesting to hear your point though
I partly resonate with your judgments - I see where they come from. My initial judgment was sceptic exactly because it felt like these new songs, compared to the masterpieces of the past, were of high quality but underwhelming. However, after many times listening to the whole album I have to say that I've started to appreciate more and more this sense of incompleteness, that lack of a bold direction. It is highly reflective of them, of me and the cultural environment surrounding us in this very moment. Their ability to articulate that confusion, both in form and content, is something to value. In this sense I believe that the discovery of absolute beauty in this album is more like a journey, but once you find it you see it's there. I also love the fact that in some bits the tracks are very hybrid, and experimental, without a producer, coming out as pure. I think there's so much to it and can't wait to get the full picture with part 2.
TLF is my top favourite too with Antidotes as second. But I see when you're coming from. I'm guessing you're not a fan of their Antidotes and Bsides sounds. The compositions in the new album are definitely complex but well blended with each other and work on their own too. It's not bland at all it's just you don't like it and that's fine. I mean anyone would describe other songs they don't like as bland or boring. At the end it all just boils down to personal preferences.
🖤

Absolute geniuses. I keep hearing new sounds and textures in this album. Such an inspiring and genre fluid band. Bring on part 2 and Glastonbury 2020

Cafe d’athens is the best song Foals have ever put out in my opinion i hope they make an album in that style in the future.
