Everyone only thinks Ronaldinho was all about fancy dribbles,, nobody notices his brutal strength. I saw him tassle with Gattuso and Dinho never lost the ball, actually Gattuso fell to the floor
Kaká and Ronaldo were like that as well. Sure, they could dribble around you, but also put out a stiff arms and make you eat grass. In my opinion, the biggest difference between their generation and the current Brazil generation.
Still 1 of THE best Camp Nou roars ever after a goal, not the most pretty Ronnie goal, but boy was that important vs the defensive wall that was Chelsea. I went totally nuts here.
Barca are now nearly going to go that long without a champions league last one was 9 years ago and the team doesn’t look like they will win one anytime soon
Ronny never scored many goals but when he did score it was a screamer and it was also a crucial goal when the team really needed one. Fans thought Ronny was all about fancy dribbles but the guy was hella strong, he was not easily pushed off the ball
Wasn't actually his strength here, but spacing and leverage. He essentially stops/slows himself as Terry lunges in and then pushes forward when Terry is completely off balance and stretched out, meaning he can utilise his leverage to get past him and knock him down. It isn't that Ronaldinho was stronger, it's that he recognised how to use the fact he may not be as strong but understood balance.
@@TheTyke Ronnys eyes are on the ball. He is accelerating towards the empty space in the box at the same time he is controlling the ball At no point does Ronny slow himself down in anticipation of Terry being off balance Ronnys power from the acceleration is what knocks down Terry
Wasn't actually his strength here, but spacing and leverage. He essentially stops/slows himself with a stutter step as Terry lunges in and then pushes forward when Terry is completely off balance and stretched out, meaning he can utilise his leverage to get past him and knock him down. He knocks the ball away from Terry and times his drive so that Terry has planted his front foot and lost all momentum before bouncing himself off of Terry just as Terry takes the weight off that same front foot; essentially rendering Terry stood on one leg (his rear leg). He doesn't even try charge him down, he jumps as Terry comes to a halt and then uses him to propel himself forward; maintaining his momentum with the jump while Terry loses all of his. It isn't that Ronaldinho was stronger, it's that he recognised how to use the fact he may not be as strong but understood balance. Something that is extremely important for any player relying on dribbling. You see Ronaldinho bait defenders a lot into lunging and extending themselves and then he dribbles past them. It's probably one of his greatest attributes, his understanding and manipulation of balance. If you look at his highlights you'll see a lot of defenders that strength wise overpower Ronaldinho massively (I.E John Terry); end up being beaten because he baits them into poorly timed tackles and then he maneuvers past them when they are unable to bring their strength to bear against him. I've noticed Cristiano Ronaldo, at least early on, really failed to understand this and used to end up getting tackled pretty badly very often, especially at Man U facing off against Premier League/British defenders. He'd rely on stepover dribbles down the wing and then get crumpled. Ronaldinho seemed to understand what he was doing on a deeper level to C.Ronaldo, at least younger C.Ronaldo; and is probably why he is one of the few players to ever be able to succeed with dribbles like this against Premier League defenders, especially British ones who often overpower strikers and hit them with hard tackles and challenges.
One of Ronaldinho's most underestimated qualities: his strength. He brushed John Terry aside like a charging rhino decimating a brickwall.
john terry ha ha.he do aganist carvahlo not terry because he know he will never surpassed towards terry.

The Best Player In the Word
Back when football was truly interesting!!

The greatest ever. FLATTENED John terry
14 years without Barcelona touching champions league trophy , until Ronaldinho got to Barcelona and changed everything .
Barca are now nearly going to go that long without a champions league last one was 9 years ago and the team doesn’t look like they will win one anytime soon
Para mim, foi o jogador q atingiu o nível mais alto de performance. Não manteve, mas chegou onde ninguém havia estado...
best football player ever
The way he put John Terry on his arse was a true thing of beauty.
Yet some fans say that Ronaldinho was all about fancy dribbles and stepovers until they watch Ronny knocking Terry to the floor

Never scored many goals? For his position he got loads- 1 in 3 ratio pretty much at all his clubs and just shy of 1 goal every 2 games for Barca
Stop the cap he scored loads for someone of his position and Role.
