- Off-air recording of Melbourne's 101.1 TTFM (later MIX101.1 and now KIIS 101.1). Not sure of the exact date but the year was 1996.
Features part of a Sunday morning shift with Rob Elliott & Weekday 101 minute music marathon.
This has brought a smile to my face. Remember listening to TTFM all the time as a kid!
I was 17 in 1996. Had my whole life ahead of me. Now I'm 42, overweight, about to get divorced and I'm a warehouse op. I made some wrong turns.
If they bring back 101.1 TTFM in this exact format , guaranteed they will be number 1 station in Melbourne again.
I loved this format growing up and the slogan was perfect
I do remember them using the "80s, 90s and today" slogan even though it was still the 90s. Previously they did run with "70s, 80s and 90s" as their slogan.
You can tell some of the songs had been pitched up (I remember doing that with a few songs when I was at Fox in 1998) - all about getting to the next song quicker :)
My memories of TT were always as a lame radio station however listening to this they weren't really that bad.The playlist sounds Ok and the Mike Hammond VO's and jingles give a nice female skew.LMAO at Rob Elliot's line about a dodgy game host. Thanks for the upload.
It;s funny how branding affects your opinion. It is good in hindsight.
ARN should launch a DAB+ station with the TTFM music format
Replace the stupid IHeartTrivia statiion with this would be a better ideaa
