I have a Tektronix 2236 I’m learning as well And I will using mine for to diagnosis problems with vintage stereo receivers like pioneer , marantz Etc . Plus some older guitar rack gear thanks for doing these vids I know it’s 7 years ago but it’s very helpful info and very appreciated with your time
Hello Joseph, Your video is going to be my first step in learning how to use a oscilloscope, Going to be using the oscilloscope to do repair and alignment work on my hf transceivers, I want to thank you for posting the info.
+cbkidd your welcome, that what all my videos are here for, if you give me about 2 weeks to get though finals and the remainder of my classes, I can make videos about tuning circuits and function generator ... if that helps
@@JosephX When can you do a video on how to connect the leads of an Oscilloscope to a stereo receiver and also how to hook up the function generator to the stereo receiver.to do troubleshooting. Thank you
So. can i troubleshoot my stereo receiver using the Oscilloscope without using math? if my stereo receiver one channel is not working and i want to find where the problem is? anyone know? Thank you
@@JosephX subbed to your channel. Hope you do a video on how to connect the components under test or troubleshooting to a oscilloscope and to a signal generator and what cables to use. @@SDsailor7 your welcome and thank you for the compliments. That's a good idea for a video. I might end up making 2, one on cable and another on testing stuff

depends on what you want to test. There is not just one spot. Unless your asking where the cables hook up to the oscilloscope? That's just the BNC connectors
@@JosephXWhat if I get one point that is moving from left to right? Is that the trace? And how do I get it to resemble a straight line? Do I need to change the settings on the oscilloscope? I do not have a signal/function generator attached to the oscilloscope. Thank you

@@josegilbert8337 yes it would be, it's a lot easier to send info and links in discord then youtube, also its easier in discord to set up a time to jitsi meet (it's like Skype, just not as much of a pain). If you showed how to hook up the probes and input a signal, that would be very helpful. Thank you.
Ok, I'll make a follow up video that explains how to hook up the probs, though videos take time to make, so it will be a little bit.
Thank you! I didn't really expect a response, so I am happily surprised. Again, thank you.

So how does a O scope help? You need a computer a HUGE blackboard, and a PhD in mathematics - the scope can be a door stop.
YOU HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO TEACH THE OSCOPE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
