@ColgateNacho No, I'm talking about the 100% stun combo that completly kills her opponent. And then there are also the combos that take away half your health, the parry that destroys every strategy except random pokes and throws, the c.mk to super, etc.
Very good video. I kind of got dizzy after seeing them do their V-Ism combos. THe way how broken this is almost reminds me of Street Fighter II: Rainbow Edition.

On it's own V-ism (custom/original combos) are fine but with Alpha 3 you have the guard crush, dizzy states and the crouch cancels, so no amount of damage scaling can help with those infinite combo factors.
I don't care what kind of bells and whistles capcom put on sf4 this is still the best SF game to me IMO. Sound is off the henges, great characters, and my personal favorite air blocking.
Depends on your character and really how fast your fingers are, but you cant throw any random vism combo expecting to juggle them infinitly. there are specific moves on specific characters to do what you want
For the last time. You can't air recover out of variable combos (V-ISM stuff). Every hit of the VC counts as a counter-hit and because you're constantly cancelling stuff and avoiding the neutral position, they can't flip out unless you screw up the timing. Also, this is a combo/tricks video. It's just there to tell you things, not to show how good he is.
@ColgateNacho Managing to land an infinite can be tough on this game considering a single hit knocks you out of your combo (and it's not as hard to do so as it seems). And the parry system overpowered alot of strategies, because the only thing that couldn't be parried were throws. So basically, parries took away everything that made street fighter, street fighter. It was now known as the unbalanced, parry fighter 3.
@5h4ggyDr34d I would assume it would to be exactly as it sounds: do a crouch after you do a jumping HK to the lessen the amount of frames in order to cancel into something else (like another jumping HK to continue the infinite combo). As the number of set ups shown in the video demonstrate, it's best to do it as a counter due to the invincibility frames you get activating V-ism making fireballs pass through and close physical attacks whiff.
bbok12, you can do what garrethking99 said or go to random and keep doing it until he appears(works for Juni and Juli as well). If you beat Alpha 3 one time you unlock Alpha 3 Upper. You have to hold select while choosing Alpha 3 to access it. In Upper he's a standard character (as well as the rest of the console SFA3 characters absent in regular Alpha 3 in Anthology).
it look like you know somthing about alpha 3 so u mind if i ask how do u know how to preform that combo with akuma at the beginning were he command throws you off the ground ? i try to do it on street fighter anthology but iam not sure if its possible\ on there.
do you know if sfa3 is available on the psn? i've read that the psp version its on it, but im not sure about the ps3's... and i also read that that version has 34 characters...
Also blanka and akuma etc. "unblockable combos" can be blocked by a alpha counter but make sure its the character and not a shadow! OR start a V-ism combo JUST before you get hit and their hit will bypass you. Dizzy bugs wont work if the cpu or opp. mashes the bottons. Lastly ryu's Shin-shoryuken at the end takes 1 third of that damage he just messed with the handicap. Amazing timing though
Noob question, how do you block so your char gets white and you can counter? I guess you can call it a counterblock. I read somewhere that you just press forward? When the blow hits you only press forward?

i forget what it's called (i call it the oni roll) but to do that move you have to quickly ROLL the stick from down to forward to up and press or release a punch. jab will send you a short distance, fierce will send you a greater distance. when you reach the opponent's head, keep the stick pressed left or right and press punch or kick to throw. pressing punch or kick before reaching the opponent will result in a launching air attack. it is not safe. press down and kick to do a slide kick.
@bartdude82 yeah your right. I grew playing mainly as Chun-Li, Cammy, and Ryu in street fighter. When Alpha 3 came out, I started to like playing as Cody, Guy, Rose, Sakura, Karin, Rolento, and Ken. So yeah I will be getting Street Fighter X Tekken because i did love Street Fighter 4 and Tekken Dark Resurrection. lol
the Vcombo rules are in a combo faq in gamefaqs and you will see why opponents r flippin.if you are not attacking they will be able to recover.also Vcombo enables OTG grabs
how do you unlock evil ryu? i have the psp version and i fought against him in world tour but i cant find out how to play as him. maybe the ps1 version might have the same way to unlock him like in the psp version

V-Akuma is a demon! I just wish I knew how to do combos in SFA3. The V-ism that replaced Custom Combos from SFA2 completely threw me off (specially the fact that you now have to make your character move rather than the character moving forward on his/her own).
You start from Down+Back. That's how I do it. Though, I know on the early Street Fighter games, there was a glitch with the 360. You only needed to hit 6 of the directions to get it to work, yet for some reason the full 8 never worked. Try B, Db, D, Df, F, U, B and see if that'll work for ya.
DjClayface is right...assuming you are on the receiving end of a Crouch-Cancel-Infinite, you cannot Tech Flip out of it, because your opponent is not in a "neutral state". It is important to realize that the game engine is coded & written to only allow Tech Flips when your opponent is in such a state. (However, it is very hard to exploit this in the game, anyway)
hello i got the street fighter alpha max3 for psp...i cant make a defense fall...can someone tell me how to do it exactly plz ? i mean this think after u get thrown that u can stand immediatley...
beat arcade or final battle with evil ryu, then hold select when selecting akuma, you should get shin akuma. do the same thing with anybody else, then hold select when you select bison, you should get a stronger version of him (the final boss version)
@ColgateNacho Don't get me wrong; I love the idea of the parry system. It's brilliant. But it was executed poorly. Projectile zoning has always been a big part of sf, and those without a projectile had other things (cammy's speed, for example). But parries destroyed that. FAs are a reworked version of them, and it's working fine so far. But back on the discussion, we both know 3S is unbalanced. And if you disagree that 3S wasn't as unbalanced as Alpha 3, then feel free.
In response to the earlier comments in regards to which platform this game is on, if you watch the start you will Which REGION the game is for. This display of the region tells me its a cps2 jamma pcb

Most of these are uncancellable combos. Even for the ones that aren't - furthermore, there are many infinite juggles that *only* work on opponents that flip.

You know, seeing this video makes me think the V-ism was a real bad idea to put in the game..

The Dreamcast, SF3Z Upper arcade revision, GBA and PSP versions fixed pretty much all of these bugs@@RECHOOSENONE

Just land crouching and press up. I think you have something like a 4 frame window, but it has been a long time since I've learned the specifics.

chun-li combo at 6:48 is just awesome
When v-ism is activated you don't have to hold a charge to do charge moves. So, in this case, he just pushed back-forward, mp, back-forward, mp, ect.
