THIS REALLY HAPPENED TO ME. Like, my favourite character is Sylvain and I would always marry him BUT seeing the chemistry between Byleth and Dimitri I just couldn't... Not marry him.
I feel like all of the house leaders love Byleth. It just happens differently For Edelgard, it’s nearly instant For Dimitri, he obviously loves Byleth but it takes him awhile to realize For Claude, we know he keeps Byleth close to keep on eye on them at first but during that is when he begins to fall.

I think Dimitri either realizes his feelings are romantic when he sees Byleth smile or that is the moment where he actually begins falling for her. Regardless, that smile certainly played a key role.

Everyone else at the Clock Tower scene was like a friendship chemistry but Dimitri's clock tower scene was the only one where a future together was even discussed, implying there were feelings but they just could not be enacted on. I love this ship so much

Well technically black eagle is the only path where you can go join the villain in a way or very least join the red units cause its always been blue units .... Green units being bystanders and yellow being ally or neutral units but you were never given an option to join the red units (maybe its just me but I'm tired of blue units)

I love how natural their romance happens in the Blue Lions route. Whether it was intentional or not, it gives off the feeling of them being the love of each other's lives. Like two people discovering romance in each other.
Definitely one of if not the best romance options of modern Fire Emblem games because of that. It doesn’t feel like it’s just there because Byleth is the MC.
3:46 the silence that follows is enough to make any boy nervous with no reply, so I saw it as a back-pedal. In equal parts oblivious and honest, he looks like the very definition of a schoolboy crushing on his sweet teacher. It sinks in more after the timeskip because he cared enough about her to think she'd haunt him. I love this guy. Edit: 5:17 - He was going to call himself the king of liberation; which actually has a negative presence in 3 Houses. Tells you that Fodlan history ships the two in history a bit. I kind of got spoiled by playing Blue Lions first. When I was playing Black Eagles anytime Edelgard was going on about "Something something crests something something state of the world something something personal sacrifice" I was just like "Oh my god I just want you to tell me I'm pretty".
My God, I know right? I played Claude, who's a shameless flirt and knows it, then I played Dimitri, who's a flirt who has no idea, and then you have El, who's a prickly damn cactus for a huge chunk of the story and I'm just like, "for the love of Sothis how are you the Bi one, it's like you hate me!" Then she just....randomly starts after timeskip and I honestly got irked.
Dimitri: *like a dog, doesn't realize what exactly it's doing, and craves attention. A good boy* Claude: *honestly, like a Horse. Faithful, hardy, but isn't that open with emotions. Claude also flirts with the professor regardless of gender which made me so upset playing M!Byleth because I couldn't romance him! Clause was like "our bond runs deeper than blood.......... as a friend though"
Honestly, i cant see a reason why he cant be romanced with mbyleth either :( I believe his dialogue is the same for fbyleth & mbyleth too and that they made it neutral as possible that's why he's like "our bond is strong" but that gives it all the more reason to be romanceable by both genders :(

dimitri might've been talking about her being Seiros and him as Wilhelm I (the first founding emperor) they both worked together to fight nemesis. since church (seiros) & (wilhelm) state work together same with the azure moon ending. I initially thought he was talking about Loog, but it seems Edelgard's situation seems a closer parallel to loog since Loog was able to win the war by allying with TWSID. and if you side with edel, you will be her Pan (the tactician who doesn't care about recognition) this is what i understood from the abyss library at least. also, checked wiki =)

(CF spoilers!) Not to mention if you do CF, you're literally against gods just like how nemesis was against sothis and seiros. The possible historical figures i see in dimitri is mostl likely Seiros (driven by revenge but in this case, he says byleth is seiros), Loog (if you're going with dimitri & felix paired ending) and finally, Wilhelm I (azure moon, Byleth as seiros and him as the 1st emperor) i could be wrong tho but id love to hear your theories as well!!

If you recruited Dorothea, she says something about the opera making byleth and dimitri as love interests (also with edel & Claude) but this makes even more sense since Dimitri directly alludes byleth to seiros

Pretty much every route pushes really hard for Byleth to romance the house leader, exception of course being Silver Snow since you have to kill Edelgard. Dimitri is the only who unintentionally lies it on so thick though. Edelgard is rather direct in her flattery and Claude makes everything seem like a big joke. Dimitri is sort of the awkward middle ground where he tries to genuinely express his feelings but due to easily being flustered often putting his foot in his mouth.
There's no way the Blue Lions- and the rest of the houses, too, for that matter- were not watching this thinking Byleth's gonna end up the next Queen of Faerghus in a couple years
This was my first fire emblem game. Blue lions was my first route and ill always be blue lion biased. But when i first played, i played as male byleth so i was so mad that i couldnt marry him T-T
Dimitri tries so hard to be polite. I'm surprised his Charm stat is the highest in the Blue Lions house while he still gets flustered and awkward 😄 just precious ❤

I think it's wild that the dialogue is still fairly similar even when you play as m!Byleth. It just feels like unrequited/repressed feelings if you play as m!Byleth which makes it even more sad, especially post TS
YES!! :( they never even bothered to change the dialogue (except for some instances, like when he carries byleth back) which it makes it sad. Even as mbyleth, all those personal, emotionally intimate moments together, and you cant end up with him in the end? its really sad
@@ShinoaKoucho , to be honest, the dialogue is changed more than once with female Byleth, making it more romantic with what it's said even by the other characters, even since the beginning it was really going for female Byleth romantically, with male Byleth it seems more like a deep connection but as friends, like a good friend that gets you out from a deep pit, when with female Byleth it's made more romantically since like I said the dialogue changes in some key parts even with other characters who see the conection between Dimitri and female Byleth and say things that insinuate pretty clear romantic interest
see i played this route knowing nothing at all with mbyleth and all this stuff is exactly why I was so shattered to find Dimitri wasn't a romancable option in the end for mbyleth like,, come onnnn he's totally in love
just a Random girl The only dudes male Byleth can S rank are Linhardt, Yuri, Alois and Gilbert, but Gilbert and Alois are just platonic endings. So really male Byleth can only marry two guys, and one of them is only available via DLC.

highly recommend! I started out seeing playthroughs of the game here in youtube and it convinced me to really really save some money to buy a switch!! Totally worth it. (Even if its the only game you have on switch XD the replayability is great)
Dimitri is a close number 3 for me. I love him so much, but not as much as Felix and Hubert. I did always ship him with Byleth the most out of the three house leaders.
I played GD first and initially shipped Byleth and Claude together back when the game first came out. But I tried BL next immediately after (because on GD you learn just about everything BUT anything pertaining to Faergus) and became a diehard Dimitri X Byleth shipper. But seeing this strung together like this makes it all stand out even before the time skip. Oh Dimitri, you got it BAD for her, don't you?

Well technically black eagle is the only path where you can go join the villain in a way or very least join the red units cause its always been blue units .... Green units being bystanders and yellow being ally or neutral units but you were never given an option to join the red units (maybe its just me but I'm tired of blue units)

I love how natural their romance happens in the Blue Lions route. Whether it was intentional or not, it gives off the feeling of them being the love of each other's lives. Like two people discovering romance in each other.
Definitely one of if not the best romance options of modern Fire Emblem games because of that. It doesn’t feel like it’s just there because Byleth is the MC.

I kind of got spoiled by playing Blue Lions first. When I was playing Black Eagles anytime Edelgard was going on about "Something something crests something something state of the world something something personal sacrifice" I was just like "Oh my god I just want you to tell me I'm pretty".
My God, I know right? I played Claude, who's a shameless flirt and knows it, then I played Dimitri, who's a flirt who has no idea, and then you have El, who's a prickly damn cactus for a huge chunk of the story and I'm just like, "for the love of Sothis how are you the Bi one, it's like you hate me!" Then she just....randomly starts after timeskip and I honestly got irked.

Honestly, i cant see a reason why he cant be romanced with mbyleth either :( I believe his dialogue is the same for fbyleth & mbyleth too and that they made it neutral as possible that's why he's like "our bond is strong" but that gives it all the more reason to be romanceable by both genders :(

dimitri might've been talking about her being Seiros and him as Wilhelm I (the first founding emperor) they both worked together to fight nemesis. since church (seiros) & (wilhelm) state work together same with the azure moon ending.
I initially thought he was talking about Loog, but it seems Edelgard's situation seems a closer parallel to loog since Loog was able to win the war by allying with TWSID. and if you side with edel, you will be her Pan (the tactician who doesn't care about recognition)

(CF spoilers!) Not to mention if you do CF, you're literally against gods just like how nemesis was against sothis and seiros.
The possible historical figures i see in dimitri is mostl likely Seiros (driven by revenge but in this case, he says byleth is seiros), Loog (if you're going with dimitri & felix paired ending) and finally, Wilhelm I (azure moon, Byleth as seiros and him as the 1st emperor)
i could be wrong tho but id love to hear your theories as well!!

Kind of like a tragic love story where Seiros gave up the chance of building a life with Whihelm for vengeance so Whihelm married some noble lady from a powerful house to strengthen the empire in the war and continued to support Seiros' cause.

(the Wilhelm embracing Seiros thing) whether it was historicallu accurate or not, its quite an amazing allusion to Dimitri & fbyleth in thr later chapters of azure moon. If you recruited Dorothea, she says something about the opera making byleth and dimitri as love interests (also with edel & Claude) but this makes even more sense since Dimitri directly alludes byleth to seiros

Pretty much every route pushes really hard for Byleth to romance the house leader, exception of course being Silver Snow since you have to kill Edelgard. Dimitri is the only who unintentionally lies it on so thick though. Edelgard is rather direct in her flattery and Claude makes everything seem like a big joke. Dimitri is sort of the awkward middle ground where he tries to genuinely express his feelings but due to easily being flustered often putting his foot in his mouth.
There's no way the Blue Lions- and the rest of the houses, too, for that matter- were not watching this thinking Byleth's gonna end up the next Queen of Faerghus in a couple years
This was my first fire emblem game. Blue lions was my first route and ill always be blue lion biased. But when i first played, i played as male byleth so i was so mad that i couldnt marry him T-T

I think it's wild that the dialogue is still fairly similar even when you play as m!Byleth. It just feels like unrequited/repressed feelings if you play as m!Byleth which makes it even more sad, especially post TS
YES!! :( they never even bothered to change the dialogue (except for some instances, like when he carries byleth back) which it makes it sad. Even as mbyleth, all those personal, emotionally intimate moments together, and you cant end up with him in the end? its really sad
@@ShinoaKoucho , to be honest, the dialogue is changed more than once with female Byleth, making it more romantic with what it's said even by the other characters, even since the beginning it was really going for female Byleth romantically, with male Byleth it seems more like a deep connection but as friends, like a good friend that gets you out from a deep pit, when with female Byleth it's made more romantically since like I said the dialogue changes in some key parts even with other characters who see the conection between Dimitri and female Byleth and say things that insinuate pretty clear romantic interest

Dimitri is a close number 3 for me. I love him so much, but not as much as Felix and Hubert.
I did always ship him with Byleth the most out of the three house leaders.
I played GD first and initially shipped Byleth and Claude together back when the game first came out. But I tried BL next immediately after (because on GD you learn just about everything BUT anything pertaining to Faergus) and became a diehard Dimitri X Byleth shipper.
But seeing this strung together like this makes it all stand out even before the time skip.
