    Brilliant illustration of angles, and using you military experience to demonstrate was even more genius.
    I would never have known that the 20° cut would have been the waste, and the 70° degree cut (90° - 20° = 70°) was the cut needed for the project. Thanks for helping me understand this carpentry terminology.

    Good job TBC, Mitre cuts are the hardest to figure out without an understanding of the principle you laid out. I've seen interior trim butchered because of bad Mitre cuts.
