I think after the update the Luzhandui might be worth considering in the deck, 15 pt shock with good 5pt transport is basically better spam mot schutzen
I know they aren't the strongest but I really enjoy playing Red Dragons and I genuinely don't understand why people shit on it so much. I think it's pretty strong.
@@ivvan497 wdym, imo good inf, aa , artillery, tanks, recon, helicopters, some good planes (arguably its weakest point) i think its quite strong where do you feel its weak

@@Domhnall_A_Ghalltachd Red Dragons are strong in certain regards, the thing is everyone else does what they do so much better. KT spam, kurnass runs, Zelda, merkava IIA... tbh the PGZ-95 is one of my favorite gun AA pieces, always seem to have more luck with it than Gepards or Tungs. Also I have had luck running SU-27SKs and J-8Cs for extra plane spam but I think that's more suited for team games.
That is because PGZ-95 has one of the highest AA dps (but not above Gerpard 2 or Tungs). For 70 pt though, it's pretty niche. Namely, it's good for openings with high opening pts, which is all of my games but niche. The double asf strat works best in destruction -- win an engagement, lose a cheap plane and shoot down an expensive plane. But that's also every other RD package. And that's why in conquest RD is anemic. It's not realistic to double up every strike package everywhere.
I've had good fortune with the Sinhung of all things. Pair a couple of them with some BRDM-2s and cross a river to chuck mediocre ATGMs at unsuspecting mortars or artillery!
I'm a bit surprised you picked the PGZ-80 over the PGZ-88. It's 10 pts more and is radar which hurts it, but you seem to get a pretty cost effective SPAAG. It has ~2x the fire rate, very good air detection, can be anti-plane (pairs well with the 9HE HQ-61A), and +1 armor on the front, sides, and top. You could theoretically tank a Leo 2A4 shell. I definitely am always tempted to take the PHZ-70. It fires only half its rounds in a salvo and can be pretty good at area denial. but I think you are right. The BM-24 just has such a good HE output.
Yep I said something similar in his AA ranking video, I think the PGZ-88 is better than he gives it credit for, its 35 points, reasonably mobile, well armored, it has mediocre DPS but you can get two of them for 70 points which is the same price as a PGZ-95 which I prefer due to the PGZ-95 dying to a wet fart. PGZ-80 is a good all around unit but as a SPAAG you need a lot of them to actually kill a helicopter, usually it just stunlocks them. Paired with HQ-61 or HQ-7, PGZ-88 can be good, if for dedicated anti helicopter use it can be doubled up at a reasonable price, and it can also tank a SEAD missile for HQ-61 if it comes down to it.
I used to use the 88 and tbh I prefer the pgz-80. The thing is is that the pgz-88 is unable to effectively stun helos for its price, and it's radar. It's useful for baiting sead planes but honestly, the pgz-80 is so much better imo. It's cheaper, can act as fire support against infantry and tanks, and reliably stuns helos in pairs. The pgz-88 is a good piece for its price, but when you have the 80 and or the the 95, I don't think it's really worth taking all that much.
It's actually almost x3 the dps. Fire rate in the in-game prompt doesn't mean much. I find PGZ-80 impractical as well. To actually do the suppression (damage? what damage?), you need to triple stack them. But by that point, so many other options are available.

"red dragons, which is probably the worst deck in the game when it comes to coalitions, at least" I'm on the warpath now.

They dont have any high tech units.

Only AA is where they are truly above average.
YESSSSSS! THE MAD MAN DID IT!!!!
My reddit post and previous comment were worth it.

I run the 60 cost Ch'onma Ho tank with the Igla on top. Thoughts on that vs the ZTS you showed in the vid?
Perfectly valid!

The ZTZ-88B is the best of its line. Fight me.

I might very well undervalue the 88. Though they price of the PGZ 80 is just unbeatable.
Keep in mind that Assmann is definitely a 1v1 kween, those saved points are gonna get useful somewhere else

no sead??
T62D? cheap 4he tank.
it has 3HE
You do not run the T-62D for the HE, you run it for being a 25 point tank with 10 armor.
