Great project! I built it with my 11-year old who found this on RUclips. We made it a little wider (50 cms) with 6 item compartments. This made the horisontal rail longer so we had some problems with stability. The side with the stepper motor was always slightly faster than the other side so it got stuck. We solved this by adding another motor on the left side, both connected to the same Arduino Mega output.
I love this. I want to have a snack vending machine just for fun because watching the snacks fall is satisfying. But real ones are really expensive (in the thousands) and also expensive to maintain. I'm a computer science major but I've never worked with arduinos before. If I make modifications I can make one that just has the snacks fall.
Congratulations! As always a good project. Your circuit schematic designing is elegant. I would like to know which kind of software do you use to use for such porpouse.
hey man, am really happy to see this work.. its great and amazing and wish everyone else could do that.. congratulations next do a video about writing Arduino code explaining everything in the code like what is that thing you call while loop sometimes we get stuck in 😂 and everything else like void loop,, pretty everything in a code.. thank you in advance
Hey , Cool project Why didn't you use a DC motor instead of servo ? We could control how much it rotates by applying voltage for a specific amount of time ...
Which belt is needed and how do the components connect to the stepper motors? New to this. Also, how much weight would the basket be able to hold? Would the mechanism get bound up if the width was made to support 4 items horizontally? Thanks.
totally unrelated question: are you german? just testing my understanding xd by the way that wasnt my main point but it would be totally unfair if i dont say that your work is absolutely inspiring and amazing for new learners like me
how did you do the vertical rail? on the diagrams and video it shows just a belt hooked up to nothing other then the 2 pulleys so how does it pull up the horizontal lift up did you insert a screw then zip tie like you did on the horizontal?
You make it look so simple! Good job on this one. I have a project that requires the arduino. Do you have any tutorials that you could be point me too? I really wish to do the same project but don't know where to start ^^
Hello there! Do you sell this as a DIY kit? I mean, the body parts can already be pre cut, leaving the wiring and programming for an arduino beginner like me to follow your instructions and build! Regards, Ben
where/what app did you use to make your 3D design?

I watched ur video and that's really cool:) but can u tell me how to recognize coin( I mean if I define one snack is 25cent but if someone insert coin 1cent)
Not a useful project (more like a fancy one and I know you know that). But still really good build to demonstrate how to make linear drive systems from scratch and work with materials such as wood, aluminium pipe etc. The video is well shot and love the 60 FPS
What if I want to build a "horizontal/linear" vending machine for small "Shampoo packets". How would I know that coins are real and get accepted. Or if fake coin is inserted, it won't get accepted and automatically gets ejected. Also, how to check if there is item available or empty, or its delivered or not. Lastly, can I add QR code payment instead, if so how will it work. I have less knowledge about programming, but lot more interest. Please help in making such a device.
hello dejan bro pls answer me i want to know how did you powered the servo motors because when i plug the vcc and gnd of my servo motor to 5v arduino board it doesn't rotate its make noise vibration only when i rotate it with my hands than start rotating normaly than when i restart upload a code to arduino its not work only work when i rotate it with my hands every time does the 5 v of arduino not good for servo motor but if is not good than why it work when i rotate it with my hands i need help i want it to work good without rotate or moving it with my hands do i need power supply to fix this problem? or i use 5v of the dc-dc coverter to my servo motors ?
hi! we followed all your steps, but it seems like this installation needs much more power. when we insert our wire into 5V, the Arduino stops working. when we pulled out our wires from 5V, the MEGA is working again. would it possibly because of too many wires causing the voltage not enough? Is there any way to solve this problem?
let me ask you can you make a vending machine like that but with credit card payment ? if yes let me know so you can make that money i was thinking to do it for cars like taxi drivers
Need help. I build the project, copy - pasted the code in Arduino IDE, loaded it on the board and nothing works. EDIT: I managed to make it work, but the 2 stepper motors aren't working.

Another great project, keep them coming. You are the No.1 inspiration for my students who are working with Arduino.
Klasse, endlich ein Projekt mit allen Infos :-)
You are amazing man! Keep doing your hard work!

This helped me so much. I managed to buy a brand new car because of this project!
Really?

amazing stuff man...this type of projects take a lot of time and patience... thumbs up
Thanks! Your video help me a lot. I am starting work with Arduino Projects.
Hey ,
Cool project
Why didn't you use a DC motor instead of servo ? We could control how much it rotates by applying voltage for a specific amount of time ...
very true exactly what i was thinking
NOTE:
its easy to control dc motors one-way but if you have to spin both that's when it gets harder!
I'm interested in building a prototype sort of vending machine, I've never done anything like this before.
I am looking for the principle of operation of these vending machines
An awesome project
Amazing project! Thank you for shring!
Thanks!
Excellent build and tutorial sir. Thank you!
A+ Project. Thanks for creating this video!
Very good project and explanations!! Thanks
Good. Better to use I2C backpack for LCD displays in future projects as it reduces lot of wiring.
hmmm ok ill take that into my option book
Thanks for the toturial :D

how did you do the vertical rail? on the diagrams and video it shows just a belt hooked up to nothing other then the 2 pulleys so how does it pull up the horizontal lift up did you insert a screw then zip tie like you did on the horizontal?
encontraste la solucion?
THANKS A LOT , a great project as usual . Can you help me with a diagram of the circuit with out the 2 motors please ?
this is very helpful thank you
Wonderful project man, but how do the IR sensor works when inserting the coins of different values?

Thankyou for this video, can i ask what is the Software you use in programing the ardiuno?

how about sir without the hydraulic item carrier
Do you have an Arduino Trainer?
Excellent
How does your servo motor move more than 360 degree... If not then the vending coil will be able to dispense just once
He said it's a continuous rotation servo
Cannot open either file and would like to possible attempt this but need sizes are they available please?

360 degrees servo motors or so called, continuous rotation servo motors.
