They should've done a platinum or gold label Batman with the famous animation errors - so the neck and hands are just flesh tone, and the bat symbol colors are inverted - the bat is yellow, and the oval is black. That would've been such a great homage to that era of animation.
I genuinely love this line as simple as it is, I’m hoping McFarlane does a Hannah Barbera back catalog . I’d love some Scooby Doo, Johnny Quest and Space Ghost in this style.
Man! That show and the Superman of the same era were amazing! Illustration, animation and sountrack were great, even the stories were good. Way better than the Superfriends. Yes I said it!😂
If we're talking the original 60's DC shows from Filmation, I agree. However, Filmation's new Batman 1977 was not that good at all. Just like SuperFriends, TNAB didn't allow much violence AND they replaced Alfred with Bat-Mite. Blasphemous!
Great video, Shiz! Yeah, Filmation pretty much turned Batman into the template for He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Fun Fact: Melendy Britt (Batgirl, Catwoman) would go onto play the Princess of Power herself, She-Ra!
I really want the Penguin from this Filmation cartoon in this line, he was my favorite character, will he still come out? It would also be cool to have a Catwoman
They’ve should’ve done the figures from the ‘68 cartoon instead, along with the ‘68 cartoon Batmobile. I liked that ‘68 Filmation cartoon better. I really didn’t care for the ‘77 cartoon, I couldn’t stand Batmite
I love, love, love this line! This is the show I watched when I was young. I didn't get into the Batman 66 line except for getting the Batcave when it was on liquidation. Now I have to get the Batmobile and every single one of these when they come out
I'm gonna get the Pink Riddler, simply because it is insane that they made a version of the character who only cameo'd in that intro and was an offhand ref in one of the episodes. Even wilder was the fact that the LoD Riddler, the main reason we got this one, seemed to be a stand-in for Joker, given the giant playing cards he used in the COTSF pilot intro. Oooh - Wave 2/10 if it comes could feature the first Big Glasses Catwoman since her Mego days. You want to get really crazy, there was an ep where Catwoman dressed up as Batgirl to frame her - a figure of that would be sought after - I think.
I watched the cartoon as a kid! They look great and I'll probably get them all! Batman does look a little off! I'm really excited for that JOKER! For years he was my definitive JOKER! Now he's going on my shelf! I have to look for DVD I bought of this show now to relive my kid days! Looking forward to Alfred, CATWOMAN, and Penguin! Great review!😅
I like them all. Just wish Batman’s head sculpt was better. Double chin look bothers me. Hopefully they’ll retool it. I loved the cartoon from back in the day!
I loved the new adventures of Batman as a kid but the figures for Batman and Robin just look wrong. They were more muscular in the cartoon. And then you mention these are the same bodies as the Batman ‘66 figures. Not cool Todd! Not cool! Also not gonna buy these.
@@CoolCATs2814apparently Neil Hamilton’s estate have refused to allow his likeness to be used for Batman products (like the animated Caped Crusader movies and the Batman ‘66 comic)
Which character has the most action figures? Spider-man had all those creative and weird variants from Toybiz and has a lot of Marvel Legends ones, but Batman may have even more! What do you think?
A great video and a great review. But with all due respect, I have to disagree with you about The New Adventures of Batman being unwatchable. Not all of it anyways. I love the New Adventures of Batman by Filmation. I was 5 years old when it first aired in 1977 on Saturday mornings. It came on right after Filmation's Tarzan Lord of the Jungle and it came before the live action Shazam/Isis Hour. So I was at the right age for this series when it originally aired. The best part about this series was that Adam West and Burt Ward were the voices of the Filmation designed Batman & Robin. I will admit, the biggest downside to this series was the unnecessary injection of BatMite into this series. While BatMite came from the comics themselves, Filmation redesigned him for a more authentic Filmation style appearance and he was voiced over by Filmation founder Lou Scheimer. But I loved the animation and most of the music, The only music track I hated was what I call the wacky circus type of music. That tracked played in one episode where BatMite was speeding around the BatCave uncontrollably on the Bat Cycle. Anyway, I finally got all of the figures from this wave, and I'm hoping and praying there will be another wave. I would love a Filmation Penguin, Catwoman, Mr. Freeze and Clayface. It would also be nice if McFarlane could make the Filmation Batmobile for these figures. And for variations, I'm going to pass up on the black costumed Batgirl variant. I wish McFarlane would make variants like the green costumed Filmation Riddler, the classic green costumed Catwoman, and a Filmation Robin with his emblem colors corrected so we can have some representation of the 1968 Adventures of Batman cartoon series. Now since I am a stickler for details, the only issue I have with these figures, is that Batman and Batgirl's grey bodysuits are a very pale shade of blue, which I call Filmation Blue, so I intend to paint their bodysuits in that color. And I'm not too crazy about the capes. But those are my only issues. I'm glad to have this complete set of figures from this awesome series. This cartoon was the very first media introduction of Clayface from the comics, and this series was the first time we saw the actual comics version of Commissioner Gordon with the glasses and the white mustache. So this series does have some value. I love the looks of Wayne Manor, the BatCave and Commissioner Gordon's awesome round futuristic office. While I agree with many that Batman The Animated Serues is THE best cartoon Batman ever made, I must say that the New Adventures of Batman is MY personal favorite Batman cartoon series since that was where I was first exposed to many of the Batman characters, with the exceptions of Alfred and the Riddler, whom I was first introduced to on the live action Batman 66 TV series. I can understand the younger generations of the present day hating this series and placing it on or near the worst of animated versions of Batman list. But I am a 52 year old fart, and this series was just right for my age, and I have very fond memories of watching it every Saturday morning from 1977 to 1981 when the show ran alongside with Tarzan and the Super 7. But that's my 2 Bat Cents worth.
Goron's the only one from this wave I REALLY want. I truly hope they do not abandon the live action line, cuz man oh man I was really hoping they'd get deeper into the even goofier villains from that series, like Mad Hatter, Queen of Diamonds, Shame, Olga, Louie the Lilac, and even more of the other supporting characters, like Alfred, Chief O'Hara, or Harriet Cooper. Plus, oh my god, did you say DICK SPRANG? I had to look that up to make sure that was his real name.
I love these characters but I hate the way the capes hover over the shoulders. It looks un-natural; the cape should drape over the shoulders. Picked up Two Face a while ago and I'll get the Joker for sure.
I WAS going to buy this. But glad I didn't. I wouldn't mind McFarlane that looks like the 60's Superman. The one they put out, looks nothing like the cartoon, or comic.
Sorry but the the gray Batgirl is nothing like the cartoon version. The '77 version has a long cape, longer boots, bigger bat symbol, shorter gloves, bigger belt buckle... Mcfarlane just repainted his '66 and then resold it. Pretty lame imo.

Now that I think about it, the Platinum Batgirl might be the version of her costume Catwoman used. That would explain the eyes.
That Platinum Batgirl looks great - too bad I've never managed to find any Platinum figs in the wild :(
this commissioner gordon really looks like an alfred, and i may pick this robin as a comic classic robin
I relly liked the new adventures of batman and new adventures of superman if i can find these i will pick these up .
That Harvey Corman reference with Batmite 🙌🏾

Awesome review, dude! Really love this wave, too. WoW the end shot with most of the retro figs looks GREAT! Batmite is just uber cuteness, I love it.
I feel like the live action tv series catwomen would be popular, especially Eartha Kitt.
They have already done Julie Newmar & Eartha Kitt in the '66 line - hopefully Lee Meriwether will be done soon to :)
I just got two Julie’s and call the other Lee. Hopefully they do end up getting to her tho
@@ToyShiz That's a good idea since they are near identical! (But would be nice if they did unmasked ones for Julie and Lee 😀)

Such a good Robin portrait. You 👏ain't 👏wrong!
Riddler looks like Stephen Colbert
Batman Adventures maybe, but I would say more inspired by Barbara's first appearance in Detective Comics.
I just came here to see all things wack-a-doo. Thanks
Nice way for McFarlane to work around the rights issues for Commissioner Gordon, wonder if we will get any other pseudo ‘66 figures this way?
@@CoolCATs2814apparently Neil Hamilton’s estate have refused to allow his likeness to be used for Batman products (like the animated Caped Crusader movies and the Batman ‘66 comic)
I was hoping the fix the capes, I wonder if they are ever going to make a 7" Adam West Batman.

All you need is the Scooby Doo gang in the same scale to go with them
Oh totally. These would go great with the Scooby dooby gang
I ended up getting the platinum version of Batgirl in my order, but I find it harder to find the gray/blue Batgirl.
batman robin and barbara are great but for me it was always the brown hair commissioner without the moustache
I have looked at the usual places and I cannot find the black costume Batgirl for sale. Your link only seemed to have the gray. Any ideas?
She’s a platinum, so it will be a random packed chase figure
Thank you. I will commence the hunt, though I'm guessing I will have to get the common version and repaint her. @@ToyShiz
The toon wasn't that bad. 1968 Filmation was better but it does have a charm.
Love the joker
Man! I’m not a fan of McFarlane but this Is a really good series
This video totally sold me on it! What’s the name of that fabric used for the capes?
I Call it Like a Taffeta Material. They have a softer version where as the ‘66’s had a crunchy fabric. If that makes sense

Hey I’m sure that there’s a cartoon out there we can agree on
The only thing i wished they had would be extra hands
I pre-order the new adventure of Batman. But I just got Batman. Mys is coming on February 19th
How do they scale with other Mcfarlane figures?
Not at all

Is it me or does Superman look like Elon Musk?
Why is Batman so small
Cause he’s an action figure (Mcfarlane scaling)
The joker's head is too big!👺
The body for Batman does not fit the cartoon, its the worst from the wave
