The third device deserves one of your handmade wheel, with a dark wood, but it remains a masterpiece of perfection. So far the best 33min and 39s of my day. Domo Arigato Sensei.

I would say all three types are variation of designs I have already see. Type 1 is specifically for chisels, the other two for everything. However, your design is the simplest I have seen so far! Nice and simple, while getting the job done. I think if type 2 is change to clamp from back of the knife, it can be used to sharpen very large knife as well. Lots of potential! Love it.
All three are good examples of what is possible in the home shop using existing designs replicated simply and inexpensively. Well done on reinterpreting and simplifying these homemade versions on expensive commercial designs. 👍 😃
Your videos are almost depressing in a way. I have no climate controlled area to work in to make such things and your work is so clean and professional and perfect. You are truly a master and your videos are a gift to this world.

Why using the common cast aluminium, too small sharpening guide with the minuscule roller, which is too narrow and unstable? This design by koubou is much wider, longer and much more stable, a true MASTERPIECE! Thanks for the great design, inspiration and teaching!
