  • In this video I will you how it's possible, to adjust the focus so it can come out to infinity on a MIRRORLESS CAMERA with an adaptor, and in this case on the Olympus OM-D camera.
Remember to set a small BEFORE adjusting the focus ring, so you have a reference when restore the focus ring to the original position!

Yes the adapters often don't focus perfectly at "infinity hard stop", mostly overshoot. That works for dedicated adapter/camera but might be troublesome when more than one systems used. For the adapters are designed as 'precise' m42 flange distance.
I personally would adjust infinity when m42 on Nikon F but not for other cases. Sometimes manufacturer use thin rings to adjust optic placement in lenses and I saw some dealer provide these with CCTV lens for mirrorless which have loose infinity focus.

Hello Mike, I need to clean a takumar 120mm 2.8, would you have any tips? it has screws between the focus ring and a top part but i don't know how to access it normally they dismount from the top but this one looks different. Thanks for your work and videos. A hug from Brazil.

I don't understand. Is your adapter not the correct distance for the lens? Shouldn't you just get a better adapter?

If using an adapter, this automatically corrects the registry distance,so now with adapter which corrects can be used on another camera..what you are doing, changing the lenses registry distance,is it possible to say add a m-42 to nikon adapter, change focus or registry distance of lens, and fully use m-42 lens on a nikon digital camera, might be possible? Please try this.

With adapters tou can use most any lens fully on a mirrorless camera, please explore chance of changing focus setting as you did here, and use other than nikon lenses on a nikon digital camera?

Funny; I have 20~ Pentax lenses and I haven't had to "adjust" anything or busy myself by needlessly destroying any lenses.
