What is the torque on the Engine Pro and EP-2 Pro? On the manufacturer's website, both have 55 N.m. Elsewhere the EP-2 Pro is reported to have 80Nm and has a planetary gear and the Engine Pro only 55Nm and has no planetary gear but direct drive. So how is it right?
So the speed difference between the two bikes with GPS is only 1mph, but with the speedometer it is 5mph. Methinks that Engwe have fiddled with the speedometer of the engine pro to make it look faster than it actually is.
I'm unsure. It feels quite a bit faster than the ep-2. I haven't looked into how gps calculates exact speed but I'm wondering if over short distances they aren't as accurate as youtubers tend to believe.

Great video. Love these, but ended up going with the Engwe C20 Pro 500w. Getting 30mph and lighter bike for much less money sounded good to me. Have you tried that one out?
I've just read the laws in the UK state that you can't use an ebike with a motor bigger than 250w or one that with propel you above 15mph without pedal assist. So what's the point of these if we can't legally ride them. So frustrating
Register as a moped and put on plates if worried about law. Should be okay using off road. Otherwise limit the speed to 25kmph and you'll probably be okay
or just ride them and put a 250w motor licence label on if police stop you show them that and it will be all good thats what i do but only got stopped once within like 2 years so
I'd say the value is equal and the increase in price is appropriate for the extra stuff so it just depends if you want them. For example i love the hydraulic brakes but I could get by without them same with chunky kick stand and better gears. Range and speed are the main things. I did a side by side comparison video so you can see all the aesthetic differences
If you get the international version you shouldn't pay any extra tax compared to getting the standard version. Usually any extra taxes we have to pay due to us being in the UK are in the delivery costs or already accounted for in the displayed price.
Really good videos thanks for doing these. I was about to get the Engine Pro but realised that it has a thumb throttle which I don't really like to be honest. As you have both I was wondering if you knew if it was possible to swap to a twist throttle on the Engine Pro? Also at the end of the video, you mentioned a few Issues with the Engine Pro, I was wondering if they are major enough Issues not to buy one over the EP-2 Pro? thanks for all your help
Yeah you should be able to swap to a twist. I agree i prefer the twist throttle but thumb isn't a deal breaker for me.... as for issues it's little things like having to bend the fender arms (see the components comparison video), the pedal crank arms are on backwards, the paint chipped a little too easily. Little quality control issues like that. But overall the bike is great.
Hello, a very good test of these bikes in your performance. However, I have a question, I bought the Engwe 750 pro bike and I see that you have a similar problem to my buzzing fenders. You have an idea how to silence them
I do want the Engwe Engine Pro (once I've sold a kidney of course), but twist and go ebikes aren't legal as they're classed as a motorbike...bloody UK laws.
@@richardajoy79 Fingers crossed! Thing is throttles are allowed but only to 6mph. I wish ebike manufacturers would stop putting the power on their motors and give us a quick 'legal reset' button that limits speed to 15.5mph and throttle speed to 6.

Not yet. I feel ok on a bike as long as I'm not being dangerous since there are legal ebikes. I feel much more paranoid on a scooter but even then i think they're generally ok with you as long as you're being sensible. Of course this can always depend on the individual.
Did you read the story about Mate bikes being took to court by the DVSA for none compliant ebikes IE there 750w models. The judge found them guilty and as a consequence they have been fined and ordered to recall all such none compliant ebikes.Me thinks that there will be a crack down coming on such none compliant ebikes.
A guy in Hereford got caught on a 750w ebike and got 6 penalty points on his car licence for no insurance. These bikes are cheap for a reason, far better spending more on a quality legal ebike with high torque.
The bikes are not illegal to sell, only illegal to use on UK roads. They can be used on private land. Its the purchaser that decides how they use it not the manufacturer.
@Mange2 Wrong, the bikes, as they are over 250w are illegal to use on UK roads, cycleways, towpaths, riverbanks, footpaths or anywhere else that isn't private land owned by you or private land you have permission from the owner to use.
