I believe their expertise is really crucial in the market.

    Let me get this straight. Tempus gets an individuals medical data from a health care provider and profits from it and enriches its database going forward.
    What exactly does the the patent get?

    • @zanetaylor7
      @zanetaylor7 9 дней назад +3

      Spitballing here. But patients and the public would get more proactive and precise care, I’d hope. It can enable diagnostic tools to be used way more frequently and at lower cost. Also significant scientific medical advancements (or most accurately, well-informed hypothesis’ spurring legit studies that more formally create advancements).
      Don’t get me wrong, I can see myself loving this company as an investor until I hate it as a human some years later. If they don’t balance shareholder interest with human interests, and develop tooooo strong of a moat (stifling competition & raising prices), it could do the world as much harm as it does good.

    Yes, doctors barely have time to do the standard, typical standard treatment, let alone do a careful analysis before beginning the treatment plan. Suboptimal treatment is probably the norm and not the exception. Moreover, Genomics for prevention as well as optimal treatments can be scaled very well with big data, AI, and become a huge benefit in outcomes. Who ever gets the data, and then implements the AI first will have a huge first mover advantage.

There recent acquisition of Ambry, product launches of Bolivia and xT, CDx tests are what has propelled the stock as well.
