HBO hated Chavez, it came to the forefront in the Meldrick Taylor fight, where Taylor's face was a bloody mess yet somehow Taylor was up 8 rounds to 3 going into the 12. I've seen that fight over and over Taylor was up by 1 round imo going into the 12 but Chavez got the K.O and the rest is history....
They had an agenda against Chavez even when he dropped Taylor they didnt even make a peep on Bob Sheridans telecast he went bezerk like the crowd. Jim Lampley didnt even mention Chavez vs Taylor as his top 10 most memorable fights and its the greatest come from behind win in SPORTS HISTORY. Freddie Pacheco at Showtime gave Chavez his props and knew way more boxing then Lampley an Letterman.

@@constantine7382 he’s only human we’re all different I was just saying as a generic that Mexican fighters on the hole do seem to b very durable but a good point was made in previous comments which I definitely think is a factor and that is the poverty one the best and most durable fighters always seem to have come from a very impoverished background I know most fighters do but but there r degrees of poverty the poorer the hungrier for success it seems to me

Seems that HBO commentators fantasized very hard that Chavez would lose the fight. Thank God they are no longer promoting boxing matches.

Canelo is very good but you are right...hey Im Puerto Rican and I got Chavez at #4 all time behind Ali, Robinson and Duran in that order (Chavez beat 6 of my countrymen, thats why I mention my nationality). So he is the greatest Mexican and by a mile. I love Salvador Sanchez too, (despite him beating my all time favorite boxer Wilfredo Gomez) but Sal's loss to Antonio Becerra is the deciding factor in my opinion as far as whether Julio or Sal is the best Mexican of all time. Julio is better than Canelo and by a lot...by about two or three miles!

Yea but did you see how many connected? It’s not just percentages but how much landed. That being said they were being very generous to Aguilar. Too generous
