This is a great movie. Both parents neglected their parental duties, but the mother should have been wise...to the extent of leaving your kids to attend to church, my foot! Their first daughter is a blessing to their family. In this 21st century, we are losing it because wives are no longer respecting their husband as it is enshrined in the Bible.

Why was the abuser not punished in this movie, that part was equally important and required to be dealt with
he was it wasn't just emphasized on
He was arrested.
That needed to be sorted out. He should have been punished so that another young girl would not be molested by him.
I totally agree with you ,along with a marriage counselor, there should have been one for the abused daughter and the older one also. All of the responsibilities placed on the older daughter was mentally draining her. The teacher that violated the daughter should have been jailed , that would have made the movie excellent, award winning.

They are deceitful ladies wise up.Ella is truly a good daughter i appreciate her duty as the senior daughter and she stood firm for the family. The parents left their duties and the one that pains me most is the wife she goes to church to pray even attends all night leaving her duties undone and also drive her husband outside because she denie him sex. Married women you are the cause why this men go for second wife,no matter are tired you are attend to your husband sexual urge and also pay attention to your children. It's sad how adults can be and bring children is such situations of extra marital affairs and kids born out of it. Its always the children who suffer the most in both families especially if done in secrecy.

This story is annoying and educational at the same time. How can both parent be insensitive, even when they were told their daughter is being molested they did nothing about it. They both wallowed in their emotions for so so long and refused to face the problem squarely by communicating as partners...😞
