This duo gave us so many gems!!! I've been listening to their songs for a project I'm doing and having a blast listening to all of these amazing songs. The harmony, guitar, everything is beyond cool!! Thank you Kenny & Jim!!

I love Loggins and Messina, especially their longer songs. The interaction between all those top notch players and different instruments. Great production, Fantastic songs.

The best concert I ever attended, hands down, was a Loggins and Messina concert at Northern Arizona University in the early 70's. Maybe it was '73 - not sure. What a fantastic evening that was! I was completely straight, there in the audience, and high as a kite with their music and playing.

Ravi Shankar said it best when he said he didn't want his audience high because he wanted to make them high, and if they were already high he felt cheated.

Angry Eyes is a great song. Been covering that one for years and it always kills.

Jim Messina is both professional and humble. Kenny is honest and likable. Both seem like very kind people.

I saw Loggins & Messina in the "old gym" at UT, Knoxville their first tour. Knew Messina from Poco. Great concert! They rocked that old building!
Never really cared for Loggin's later "pop" music, lost track of Messina. But together they made terrific music.

Love Kenny Loggins! That voice, and all those hits! Man…what a time! Great history here! ❤🎉
Edit, the whole band was good, and Messina was amazing too! Mixing, or production of these albums is just fantastic!

Great interview series with these guys John. I still listen to L&M, Full Sail, Mother Lode, On Stage and Finale to this day. There was no one like them then and really no one comparable like them today combining all those disparate musical strains from folk, country a little soul and jazzy interludes by the late great Jon Clarke and Al Garth. Thanks!!

There aren't producers like Jimmy Messina anymore.

I think it's amazing how some of the people get together and they just click. Great interview. Can't wait for more of it. Take Care.

Let’s have a Mention for Loggins and Messina’s fantastic accompanying musicians. May have been one of the best touring groups of that era.

Really enjoy your discussions...they are more than just interviews. Did you ever speak with Dan Fogelberg ?

  • @Rezcat-y6r
    @Rezcat-y6r 3 года назад

Brother John! Dan Fogelberg was a nice young man? Jim wasn’t even 4 years older than him. That’s classic. Jimmy was the “Duke “! Great interview my friend. Have a great 👍 Friday and weekend. God bless.
    PS: How’s Shannon’s foot 🦶 healing?

Would've liked to hear Kenny's response to more of what Jim had said! Sadly he doesn't seem too eager to talk about the L&M era. Luckily Jim has enough willingness and ability to recall the past for the both of them.

Kenny didn’t bring a guitar because he knew Jim had better ones he could use. Pretty smart!
