Bryan Stevenson is national hero. As Desmond Tutu said, he is America's Nelson Mandela. His courage and tireless advocacy for the wrongfully convicted, AND a real conversation on truth and reconciliation around race in America is courageous and vitally important. Thank you, Mr. Stevenson for your humanity and your brilliance.
He is a treasure WE NEEDED!!!❤
Thank you Mr Stevenson for helping this wonderful man. You did a great job to gain the release Mr Hinton
Thank God for Brian Stevenson. I am moved by the Mr. Hinton's story and I am so happy he is free.
Happy birthday Mr Anthony Ray Hinton June 1st.🌟🎂🍧
Thank you for this miraculous life and testimony.
Thank Brian Stevenson for all the work that you do. May God send His angels to camp around you and your family. Mr.Hinton's story has touched me to my core. My brother has just died and this story has lifted me this evening.
What a story of frightening and disgusting injustice and blatant racism, but at the same time an amazing lesson of forgiveness, compassion, love, friendship, strength and hope.
Throughout the Q&A session, many of the questioners turned the program to be about them and their experiences rather than to keep the focus on Mr. Hinton. This man is a hero and should be respected as such and recognized as the center of attention at presentations like this. Respect his time and knowledge so that he can speak and relay information that is pertinent to the problems of injustice. Thank you.
It is just... Nothing short of amazing how Bryan thanks Mr. Hinton and says how grateful he is for him when I know Mr. Hinton is the most grateful for him too.
Subhanallah😭! I couldn’t stop crying 😢! You are such a miracle and a hero for being innocent and spending 30 years on the death road and didn’t become insane! The wold would benefit from your strength if they could know how you did it!
I have no words....this is beyond words. I'll keep the rest of my comments to myself..you know big brother is always watching...
This speech is both happy and sad. You are awesome and angel sent to speak for thousands of innocent men. You are one strong man. Thank god for EIJ.
He should be the head of the department of justice
Yes plus compensation from them as well, he should see them face to face, eye contact I saying
On behalf of Alabama I am very very very very sorry what you had to go through .. Jesus walks with you an knows all your pain.. Forgiveness is key.
I cried after watching the documentaries. I have learnt a lot from these heroes.
God Bless Bryan and the EJI. Fantastic story. Anthony is an inspiration.
Happy birthday to Mr Anthony Ray Hinton June 1 🍧🎂🌟🙏🏻🌟

Happy birthday to Mr Anthony Ray Hinton June 1.🎂🍧🙏🏻🌟💜🙏🏻
Incredible story ..Love his sense of humor.
Bryan Stevenson, if he isn't married needs to be married. I elect myself as a potential mate. He wouldn't have to sleep with me if he didn't want to. I would cook, clean, sing and mend his clothes and grow a vegetable garden and make him laugh and support him in all his endeavours. He needs a partner. I will. LOL
GRTV too cute...lol
I agree! Please go take care of that man so he can continue to do amazing work.
I know you would! I can feel your love from here! God bless your beautiful heart!💕💕💕
Haha you beat me to it
😂
Thank you so much for what your doing. My grandson was out in prison for defending himself from a man with a gun trying to rape and kill him.
Bryan Stevenson is a modern-day saint !
I was crying after I watched this .
hearing the humanity in Mr. Anthony Ray Hinton's voice just put such a smile in my heart, though his story just had the tears roll down my face for the unbearable injustice. the world needs more people like Mr. Hinton & Mr. Stevenson. thank you for being. also thank you to brooklyn museum for hosting. I was certainly annoyed by that older white guy who asked 4 questions (seems selfish knowing that there's a time limit & other folks have questions too). but more importantly, to ask Mr. Hinton what he plans to do for work....I don't know about anyone else, but the way he formulated the question to me sounded like it was coming from his place of "white privilege"....can't you see what he's doing to make a positive impact?? stupid ass!!
I don't even know where to begin with this. I came here after reading his Mr Hinton's book.
Exactly!! I just finished reading his incredible book. My husband couldn't believe I was " crying over a book" but they were joyful tears. My only criticism is there's been no compensation for this 30 year atrocity!!
i think the best point made during this whole fine discussion came at the very end, when bryan stevenson mentioned the utter lack of accountability for police, prosecutors, and judges when they willfully withhold evidence of innocence or otherwise act in a grossly unjust manner in denying an innocent defendent his freedom, as was done to ray hinton for many, many years after the prosecutor's case against him was proven to be utterly baseless. without accountability it's far too easy for outrageous abuses of power to go on.
Im so sad for mr Hintons story
We can donate people to EJI. There are too many more in prison who just need a chance.
John 15
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Thanks for your labor of love 😘
🏃🏃🏃 God Bless y'all.
This should have way more comments and views than it does.
Ppl just do not care
Thank you for your intro!
Mr.Hinton it will take time to recover. You can do this!
Anthony Ray Hinton is to the legend of injustice miraculously overturned as Michael Jackson is to entertainment.
Ray is a super angel.
🙏We can All trust that God Delivers In Full 😀

Make no mistake that the sudden malfunction of the microphone was deliberate
Nah, not buying it. Just seemed like a simple technical issue, and I'm glad Bryan was able to adjust to it so quickly.

I love this story
Happy birthday to Mr Anthony Ray Hinton June 1 🍧🍿🥤🎂💜🌟🙏🏻🌟🍧🎂☺️
This hurts, it hurts my heart, to know there is still innocent people in prison sadness me. Isnt it a little crazy how guilty people who get sentenced will commit suicide unable to pay for the crime they did.But a man who done nothing sat and sat with his head held high, so unfair and tragic. I'm so happy and sad for him.he missed so much. I love you mr. Hinton
Happy birthday to Mr Anthony Ray Hinton June 1 🍧🎂🍧🙏🏻🌟💜💝
Gran ser humano!
I am black and not American but I wish no other person gets to go to death row ever! The ones that have committed crimes can be taught the human way again but please lets not kill!!! Put them away and teach them people are precious and we don't kill!!!
I love this man
My God...
He speaks at 11:22
I am sitting an hour driving time from the prison farm where Anthony Ray Hinton was incarcerated...
modern day slavery
Yes, it is modern day slavery, and it doesn't appear to be getting any better, it appears too be getting worse.
the detectives, the fbi, the kkkops, prosecutor, and judge- owe him THEIR pension
I hope they compensated him above board!
Wow crazy
"Today in Alabama"...Tell me about it...Clarence Norris of The Scottsboro Boys--in a legal lynching in 1931--talked about smelling burning flesh of men he got to know in Alabama's death cells.I did not know humans burning flesh was still....
Ballad of Anthony Ray
O listen my friends to the tragic tale
Of an innocent man dragged off to jail
The story's not pretty but it's sure as true
As the sun is hot and the sky is blue
It'll make you faint, it'll make you cry
How in the world the crooked did try
To ruin the youth and and freedom of one
Who wasn't the criminal and no crime he done
Those slippery cops and detectives vile
Without a second thought or honest trial
Put Mr Hinton on death row in a cage
It will quickly fill an honest soul with rage
One day Ray Hinton was mowing his grass
It was hot and he drank lemonade in a glass
A revival meeting after dusk on that date
Would not see Ray there, as came instead a twist of fate
Two sleezy men showed up at his door
He wondered whatever the reason for
Mr Ray was a soul quite honest and kind
But those rough guys cuffed his hands behind
"What wrong is this for which you guys
Don't hear with ears, nor see with eyes?
I haven't done the double murders nearby
You haven't captured the real guy"
Ray begged the justice thugs to find out
What the heck this was all about
Double murder was the answer he heard
But it happened far away; it was absurd.
Ray was working that night of the crime
He wasn't any where near at the time.
Ray was on the job, his boss surely knew
Those accusations were not at all true
So in her drawer Ray's mom had a gun
It was dusty and could not have been the one
Still it was labeled as evidence to the court
And so went the allegations as a horrid sport
Well the rich can find representation with ease
They hire the skilled lawyers as they please
The poor are not given a solid voice
You see then, they haven't got a choice
The poor get help that is not worth a hoot
They should be shown the door and given a boot
The ballistics man was shoddy and blind
With his one eye, Ray was further confined
More time on death row
Was a stupid and inhuman blow
After 3 years of silence in his small space
Inmate Hinton slowly gathered grace
A great lawyer was to come to his side
And this man dedicated to be Ray's guide
Hallelujah was in his heart all along
But with a guide Ray was singing an even more powerful song.
Thirty long years is not a mere token
Any other person might have broken
Death row for those long years
Was the only place for Ray's tears
Sometimes the Bible was under his bed
It's verses forgotten and not in his head
Ray married pretty women, he won a tennis match
His mind took him where no evil would catch
But the final end of Mr Anthony Ray
Was not to be in a prison, no way.
He won his freedom to be in fresh air
To see sun and feel rain as one's God given affair
A devoted friend visited Ray on a regular basis
Never missing a chance to exchange happy faces
That was a blessing from above
For rare is such steady friendship and love
This ballad is sad to relate in a way
And yet it has to be told, this story of Ray
Why do we act as shameful aggressors
Why do we think we are successors?
We cannot inherit rights to others
We are all sisters and brothers
We cannot transgress with ill will
That which the Lord desires to fulfill
We are not to act as animals do
When we know what is really true
Let's relish with joy the works of the divine
Let's let the light of all good people forever shine.
With power, opulence, beauty and fame
God invested His Holy Name
Mute your damn phones!
💔💔💔💔💔😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Without constitutional authority or vote of the people or their elected representatives , the US Supreme Court opinions of unelected judges became the greatest power in USA .The common law system was not part of the Constitution or approved by Congress. SCOTUS [Supreme Court of The United States ] control USA . SCOTUS maintained and protected slavery. See Dred Scott v. Sandford, 60 US 393 (1857) . The oldest record of judicial opinion is the Talmud. The Karaites reject Talmud (judicial opinion ) preferring law of God to opinions of men .Jesus was a Karaite never once said an opinion of the Sanhedrin was worthy of merit equal to God .Jesus was accused of opposing the legal system of followers of Talmud but said he came to fulfill the law not destroy it. SCOTUS created absolute immunity, qualified immunity , gay marriage and protection of abortion .SCOTUS is more powerful than laws passed by the elected leaders . The Sanhedrin are followers of Talmud whose opinions were treated as sacred .The members of SCOTUS are mere men whose opinions are treated as supernatural or above natural men..Scotus is similar to Sanhedrin elevating its opinions above statutory law. Scotus (learned elders) who converted their temporary appointment of first justices to lifetime appointment of today's justices without a law of Congress. The Sanhedrin ordered the murder of Jesus the embodiment of the truth based on their opinion even though the legitimate Roman governor found no fault in him .Join the Karaites that support statutory law but oppose the Talmudic system. The Constitution and US laws not SCOTUS should control USA . Void lifetime SCOTUS appointments. Void absolute and qualified immunity without a vote of the people. Abortion and gay marriage should be voted on by people not granted by Supreme Court. If all men are equal, then the opinion of SCOTUS member is no more important than opinions of any man in USA.. If you join Jesus and the Karaites and they will treat you like they treated Jesus and the Karaites. Should anyone be surprised about the lack of justice of our system when it is an extension of Talmudist system.
measurements, we must deal with the MATTERS of evil which will update the needs of our societies. Education has produced cures and we must realize points of needed challenges.
You missed the entire point... it is about hope and the fair and just treatment of all people! That is his hope!!! Nothing to do with the US Supreme Court... Everything to do with what Jesus taught! Do unto others as you will have them do to you! Ijs
Jehovahs Witnesses apply the God given councel at Acts 10:34 &35 which says " now i truly understand that God is not partial but in every nation the man who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. Therefore people of all races are welcome and treated as brothers and sisters in the congregations of jehovahs Witnesses world wide organization. We have international Conventions every year which bring people of all races together to experience our world wide brotherhood and worship our loving God Jehovah.
There's a god alright. He's name in this case is Bryan Stevenson.
Mr. Barack Hussein Obama, if
it is not too late, you and your wife desperately need to listen to and
study the soul of this super beloved angel lawyer brother Mr. Bryan
Stevenson, who also is an Harvard alum like the both of you! The
difference is he in his soul has not turn an advocate of white supremacy
as you have done after you got into the White House!
