Came back to make sure that this video wasn't part of my freaky ass dream from last night
What was the dream
@MimeThe I was playing minecraft(??? I haven't played in like 2 weeks) and I came across some other people's base, and I don't think they liked me(I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be a single player world??) Anyway I hid in their little bee hut and heard a chainsaw(?????) for a little bit and an extra bee hive appeared? Then they spotted me and tried to attack me but the bee hut started flying away(again, ??????). One of them managed to hop on when it started moving so I flew away over an ocean and saw a weirdly large ocean temple and something else was happening but I couldn't seem to keep my eyes open.
Something happened before that too but I'm not sure what

Yeah idk about this one. Seems the dev has backdoors in order to force events based on things in there. That's a huge red flag in modding, hell in game dev in general...
Yeah it feels real icky to me that they have this much access and they're posting folks from chat. Also makes the mod unfair because at this point it's not a mod. It's just someone fucking around with your PC.
I mean from what I can tell they dont actually have access to the conputer itself, an app opening a link isnt like unheard of, and the images/videos/text being displayed seemed to be soley on the app aswell? like the images arent opening on his computer just the game (which can do chat messages bc like you can just screenshot them)
but like I would definitely not do this with someone I dont deeply trust, only because opening links can get dangerous with all the phishing links out there. an app being able to open tabs isnt unheard of, but the mods do seem to have access to what the link is which is really the only dangerous thing going on

The unmedicated ADHD comment really hit when Spiff commented "Am I just waiting for it to end or...?"
The pixel section at the end makes me feel mad respect for anyone that can make a game with that few pixels actually work.
Also I hope Spiff did malware checks or possibly a system restore after this mod, giving anyone that amount of access to a computer is dangerous. Especially with how obnoxious the devs got towards the end of the stream, I wouldn't have put it past them to have installed some shit on the backend somewhere.

the mod was much better once remote control was turned off, that whole beginning was pretty icky with how much they were controlling the computer...

@@kittygladiator7561 the messages in red that said “ let me out of the basement” or events happening that weren’t even listed or twitch messages showing up IN GAME (SUPER SUS) same thing with spiff pics showing up AND the mod opening up tabs that route to copyrighted music (EVEN MORE SUS)
It's fun that the devs can send messages and change text through the game but am i the only one frustrated that they do it so much? Not to dunk on the devs and joke not intended but it kinda ruins the viewing experience
100% agree. was genuinely annoying and was way too much attention seeking constantly. spiff was clearly done with it too, considering he was asking them to stop

I love the chaos mod but I'm gonna have to pass on this one chief. They have way too much access to your PC and at this point it's not a mod. It's just them fucking with your gameplay and PC. It's too invasive and it takes the fun out of things. If you ever play this again, I suggest asking for a version that doesn't have a fucking backdoor installed into it. That's a quick way to never get anyone to download your mod.
I do like the mod, but I really dislike the devs messing with it the entire stream. I can see them doing it for quick fixes, but causing events to happen and trying to "help" makes this borderline unwatchable.
It's the point of having a "chaos" mod. They *weren't* trying to help.
The backdoor is kinda fine, but the annoying thing is thay all the effects are PERMANENT. Part of the fun of a chaos mod is watching wacky shit happen around you with a list of effects on screen to see whay exactly is causing so much bullshit, and trying your best to survive and progress
It's NOT fun (imo) to have absolutely no idea which effects are on, and have a bunch of invasive effects that make it impossible to progress AND last until you die
Suddenly being flashbanged in the middle of a tough section might be funny. It's not funny to have your screen just be a white screen after that for like 5 minutes while you wait to die and reset, but you can't even do that properly because your screen is still white and can't even see the other wacky effects happened because your SCREEN IS STILL WHITE (I know there aren't any exact effects like that here, but a lot come really close)
That plus the fact that Ruin isn't nearly as open as base SB makes this a lot less fun to watch, but the devs can't really do anything about that

@@Speak22wastaken I think the backdoor is fine because Spiff was told about it from the get go and was fine with it being used. In that context it's basically TeamViewer
You could argue that was a poor decision on spiff's part, but we really have no idea how his relationship with the devs is behind the scenes. I don't see the backdoor as malicious, just kinda annoying
@@Steamlazer Was every person who downloaded the chaos mod informed about it beforehand? Also Spiff definitely didn't know since he thought they were automated messages and did not initially think it was actually someone in his computer
