Mine has 200,000 MILES (not KMs) and the fucker still sounds like a wicked symphonic beast at wide-open-throttle... Let's see how many Chargers, Challengers, and M5s are still running as good as new at that mileage without at least 1 full rebuild and 4 transmissions.. The W210 E55 is in a class of it's own, the last of the hand-assembled 210 Benz' from Affalterbach. These cars will be an expensive, very sought-after classic in 20 to 30 years and I can easily see a fully-restored one in mint condition selling for an easy $100k USD in 20 years. Naturally aspirated, single overhead cam, perfectly tuned, expertly balanced and all-around one of the best AMG Mercedes out there. It's a complete pleasure to drive, and I don't think anyone who has not driven one can understand. I've owned several Benz, this one is by far the best of them all and it actually rides, feels, and responds better that many post-2010 Mercedes.
@@slick3627 hah sorry just realized this comment's 10 months old. A reply would be appreciated though, I just picked up quite a nice e55 and I'm interested
The E55 AMG is likely going to be my future ride even though I’ve been looking at becoming a detailed for Jaguar. It’s also entertaining to say JAAAAAAAAAAGGG! Nothing against the XJR though.
Isn't it messed up how the british gave the jag a proper introduction and then gives us false performance claims of the E55 which is really the faster car here.
Seems insane that in the early 00s the fastest E-class had 354bhp while todays version now has 600+.... Absolute madness where will it end!? lol
Ah, the times a 5 litre engines produced only about 350-380 bhp :-)
