Surely that handset on the door would have to be the most annoying spot you could have put it. Opening and closing door, near your knees. Is that the temporary bit ?
As I thought........that is a good mount. Some out of the box thinking for the handset mount there - good. The passenger can't access it tho, maybe that's a good thing. (hope me missus doesn't read this :) Thanks for sharing your improvements to the bus. (not like some people. hope those comments are running off the ducks' back)
Haha always mate appreciate the feedback it’s honestly a good spot I haven’t had a drama with it being there so far but I’ll keep ya updated comments never bother me mate it’s all part of it.
had the same style mount on my LX570 and looking at getting 1 for our Y62 when it arrives.. issue I see is that on the Patrol it will be in the way of the snorkel. Drivers side could be an option but then it's a bit more in the way and as the wife will daily the rig I'm trying to make the mods as least intrusive as possible. :/
How easy was it to thread the power cable up through to the engine bay or visa versa, did you use wire and then pull the cable through. Installing mine tomorrow. Thanks Mark
Hey mate, I'm an idiot and can't find there that grommet opens up on the inside of the car. Any tips on where to look and what I might need to remove to get access to it?
Does your Aerial bracket have a slight bend? Your aerial looks to be sitting up nice and straight. I got a bracket and fitted it to Drivers side and it leans forward a bit, did you do anything different to make it straight. I'm gonna say they are the same bracket just flipped over to suit what ever side you want to fit them on.
Nah mate that was my first thought but there is a spot where the cord can go straight through with no hassles I put some conduit around it to make sure it won’t bind up but it wasn’t really needed
Hey Mate, just trying to find the location to mount the main unit behind the dash, could you shed any more light on where you mounted it or even a pic?
How do you rate the GME unit? I'm looking to upgrade mainly for the GPS location feature but not sure if its worth the money. Am yet to see any videos on actually demoing it working!
Thanks for the video, will assist in my installation coming up. Perhaps showing a little more of the installation itself rather than yourself constantly repeating yourself and rambling on would engage the viewer more. Also, when installing any electrical circuits you should make sure the cable is fused as close to the battery as possible. Fuses are there to protect the wiring from bursting into flames from overload and NOT the equipment at the end.
I hear some people saying that if you put the aerial next to the A pillar you will be de tuning the aerial. What are your thoughts, do you notice cut out or bad reception?
Hey mate I did test it on my most recent trip and I didn’t notice much interference I can’t see why it would make a difference being next to a metal pillar as these are normally line of sight etc I’ll do a check moving forward but it’s been awesome so far.
Hey mate, great vid. Just ordered my Y62 yesterday and driver side for me is the way to go with this bracket I think (future snorkel). How much was the bracket if I may ask? I tried the vogue website and couldn't find any info.
Hey sweetheart since you can’t read it said “watch this space over the next few months bucket loads happening to make it the best (TOURING) Y62 in Aus” Again your words not mine 😘 go back to bed you must be tired 💤
That aerial mount looks awesome. What a great idea
Yeah I really like it mate better than those number plate versions
Surely that handset on the door would have to be the most annoying spot you could have put it. Opening and closing door, near your knees. Is that the temporary bit ?
It actually doesn’t get in the way with anything to be honest mate I’ll see if I can get it in a video but it clears everything.
Yeah that aerial mount is pretty slick. Good job mate!
Cheers cobba

It will get in the way of the snorkel mate I had to move mine when I got my snorkel.

Fairly easy mate behind the steering column there is a plug you can access to get the cable through
Another good vid. I just got a handheld at the moment mainly because working wires through the firewall and dash is a suckful job :D
Yeah even worse when you have no idea where the Gromit is 🤪
the aerial mount looks tops on the mirror Brayden
Thanks Rolly I agree mate it is much safer there than the front and it’s super durable which is great for hitting the occasional bush/branch

Hey mate no nothing special just the couple of bolts that go underneath
Are you sure the cord won't get caught in the door when closing it?
Nah mate that was my first thought but there is a spot where the cord can go straight through with no hassles I put some conduit around it to make sure it won’t bind up but it wasn’t really needed
Hi mate, where exactly did you mount the unit itself? Everything else seems easy enough
Inside I have put it under the dash mate little spot it sits and does not move and I cable tied it up have not had a issue with it since
Hey Mate, just trying to find the location to mount the main unit behind the dash, could you shed any more light on where you mounted it or even a pic?
Good video just started watching you. Where can you get the aerial mount from as it’s a great idea as I don’t want to fit any bar work
Thanks for watching mate it’s from Vouge in QLD mate

Comes with a pre built in fuse mate there is no need for extras,
@@4x4CampingandAdventures Ahhh...Ok you're the expert!
If reading the instructions makes me a expert then sure.

That's good to hear, I'm looking to do the same. Looks really good.
No worries mate I’ll do some tests see if it makes a difference but I was on the highway and it didn’t seem to matter when speaking to other rigs etc
Greetings, great mount, do you make them for both sides ? if so I will order them... Thanks Gary
They do mate left and right mirrors
Hey mate! Just curious, is the aerial you’ve installed the medium duty one? Or the heavy duty one?
Medium I’m pretty sure mate
No, it’s the Heavy Duty GME AE4704B
Problem is the antenna transmits from the bottom of the antenna, so the car cuts down most of the signal going on.
Didn’t really have a issue with signal but if your doing long distance stuff this ain’t the setup for you I suppose. I now have a 6db on the roof
Have a drink every time he says ummm or ahhh
Your gonna be smashed
