I should clarify as it was never really that obvious. This is not exactly double elimination.
(For top 64) The way the danger zone works is that the 8 slowest drivers get added to the dangerzone to fight next round and the bottom 4 of the dangerzone gets eliminated.
So its not actually double elimination, you can go in and out of the dangerzone at anytime.
You have to make 2 mistakes in a row to get eliminated

I like the elimination format. That way if you get a bad respawn or mistake early on, you aren't out immediately and can claw your way back to doing well.

Why are yall ending the comp?
@@nukewurld Zetorate who is the main host won't have the time anymore due to personal reasons. What makes the cup interesting is that it's a brand new and unknown map made for the cup every week, so it takes a lot of time to put everything together with all the rest (talking with mappers, testing, hosting, uploading the VODs, sending messages in the discord etc).
On my side I'm creating the cup visuals, tweets, results and such and due to my job I can't do much more too, sadly.
That beeing said we are also open if another person we can trust wants to keep running it :) And who knows maybe we'll have the time again in the future.

Yeah the editors usually choose a game to base the OST's around. One day it was a whole bunch of Kid Icarus:Uprising music and I was losing my shit the whole video 😅
The have also been times where there was Kingdom Hearts and Avatar: The last Airbender.
I hope to hear Ace Combat one day for an action packed video!

I appreciate showing unpolished and not so perfect runs. It's easy to think that a player like Wirtual's caliber can always do everything perfectly given how many World Records and insane CoTD competitions he's had. There's always other skills, there's always the practice that happens in the background, and there's always obstacle maps that look simpler than they are. GGs and WP. Thanks for the content

I really like the way the content is going lately. I think showcasing the cool tournaments and events the community put together is a great concept
Just a heads up, there is actually an impact on a real car, bike etc when it's in the air that's dependant on whether or not you're holding the throttle or not.
For example, the reason you see a monster truck go full throttle when it's doing a back flip, and motorbikes for that matter is because the wheels rotating increase the rotational moment affecting the whole vehicle. It's also the reason you'll see motor cross riders hit the rear brake when they're finishing their flip, because it reduces the rotational moment of inertia.
This is true, but it affects the rotational momentum, not (directly) the linear momentum as it does the tm car.

The elimination format is lovely. Small mistakes are forgiven and new 1v1 matches even against top players are formed.
They should include this in COTD.

I used to play this game quite a lot some years ago. I think i even remember playing against you Wirtual (definitely remember Spammiej). I sucked at it, but it was a lot of fun!

Honestly, this style of Cup makes for way better content than CotD in my opinion. Much more dynamic gameplay, although I understand the appeal of regular cups and the purity of fast car go forward.
This is so sick i definitely want to see more of this.

I wanted to add, throttle and brake in a real car off a jump cam make a difference, it's better seen on motorcycles as over larger jumps they will throttle to spin back a bit and break to spin forward a bit using the motion of the wheels, physics wise it happens on a car to just to a lesser degree because of weight and aero, but it does affect the cars position in the air forward to back
This is fun, hope wirt plays more of these cups

I thought the Silksong delusions finally caught up to me when I heard the Hollow Knight music
be careful about those places. I went to place called “the foreigner” in the Shinjuku Golden Gai. First warning was there was no one in there on a Friday night, second warning sign was there was no prices on the drinks. But i had already been in japan for a month and thought everywhere was great so no problem…
I ended up paying 12,000 yen for 6 beers and 2 shots of cheap whisky. anywhere else in japan that would be 3,000 yen at most! at the convenience store a whole bottle of the whisky was half the cost of each shot. Still a great country though, was my only bad experience really.
Actually, ”accelerating” in the air has an effect on vehicles. This is the most evident in monster trucks . Spinning the wheels kinda provide a gyro effect and slamming the breaks can slow the rotation
