In any organization (or locker room) those with influence call the shots, and they may not be the ones who have the talent or the formal authority (i.e. the coach.) Maybe Christy Sides would be happy for C.C. to run the floor but if the boss upstairs or the players "who count" won't willingly agree, it doesn't matter. Racial and sexual politics and personality factor in, and the players themselves may not care whether or not more fans come into the W or the W does well financially, knowing that the NBA has their back. Whether it's the Fever or some other team, C.C. needs a team that will develop and maximize her talent. Hopefully, she's got a good agent.

I would rather Viviens play CC over Diggins. If it is Diggins then CC will get blitz with multiple people. With Viviens in may be more one on one. CC can get her shot off against Viviens and also get her into foul trouble. CC does not really guard her assignment anyway. She play center field. She lives in the passing lanes. Is what it is. The CC green light statement seems ominous. Sides was backed into the corner from reporter questions. I just do not believe her. I could see a 3-8 game. Wheeler might double her minutes and that is all it would take.

Don't even want to watch tonight. Most likely Sides will do her best to undermine the team, then blame anyone who didn't manifest her game " plan". I don't want to see CC be neutralized by this strange coach. I really hope I am wrong. It was great to see the team chemistry build for that brief period where CC ran PG and they were playing easier teams. Icing on the cake would have been to see T come back and Celeste used...but Sides has made it clear she would rather lose and have matters her way. Storm wins easily and perhaps a blow out. Worst case scenario all issues like no passing to CC, bad layup misses, no proper screens that work, no in game adjustments by coach and bizarre subbing.
Look for Smith to play better. She's been sitting on a bad game against Reese for a few days now. Clark, hopefully will assert herself in the 4Q. Temi won't play much if at all. Expect the same from Mitchell and Wheeler.
Don't be surprised if the Fever lose. They just don't match up well against the elite teams in the league. Storm beat them twice easily. It's not all on CC, Fever still over matched in the front court.
