Becareful about impulse purchases, it is a really nice truck, but if the money ain't right, then definitely put it on hold. Pay attention to what will make you money (hence the prostar). As usual talk with family above all to make sure it's right for you all. Hope for the best!
Tim Gentry has had 2 9670 International cabovers & still has the blue one that's Brax's truck, & has a parts cab too.

It's a 88. The rebuild is great but you should get the chassis checked out by a professional for sure. Spindles, bearings, wheel seals, sripngs, etc.. it could get expensive real quick. I learned the hard way.
Coming over from FSC, looking forward to riding with you for a few miles.
Another first time viewer c/o FSC, where you were talking about getting a cabover. Getting a Freightliner would make sense, more parts in common w/ the FLD, maintenance would be easier. But when opportunity knocks, its worth keeping the option open at the very least.
I think you should get it. Maybe it maybe a little more than you were expecting but you won't have to put as much money in it. Also bring Laura out to look at it. So you both can make a decision together.
Opportunities like that don't come too often , but don't wait too long to pull the trigger because someone with bigger pockets than yours will get it. Just subscribed!!
The only one I know of on RUclips Tim. Gentry had a blue and white one, but he sold it. That was the only international cab over that i've seen on youtube

It looks fine to me.[not a mechanic] As far as exterior cosmetics go, that machine would look great with some graphics. That's what I like about Steve Feszchak's Peterbilt he calls Orwell. Orwell has beautiful graphics that start at the radiator opening in front & wrap around the sides. First off though, I'd lay down some miles & get a feel for it.

The big cam is the daddy of the N14 series. I had the Celect Plus version in my last truck, and though I had to replace the injectors a few times, the air compressor and power steering pump once each, and as always, a bunch of other small headaches from time to time, she was still running strong at 1.1 million when I retired and sold her. The old (but younger than me) Canadian guy that puts out “Smart Trucking” on RUclips recently did a vid on 5 cabovers, and said though it wasn’t the best riding of the bunch, the International was his favorite.
Get the truck it looks awesome Far as haters go no need to justify why you got it. Gods putting you in areas for opportunities like this take the blessings.
It's the best of both worlds. Working truck / Show truck. Not alot of work needed to get it ready.

Check the model number on the transmission. Some 9 speeds can be converted to 13 speed.
Brantley , Tim gentrys son has one. The air force cab over. But thats a totally different situation. The one you found is a good looking truck. Nothing wrong with whatever you choose to buy. Your content is different.

Cabover semis are cool. I remember those things were everywhere here in the USA back in the 1980s & down. These days you mostly see conventional cab semis.
Cabovers are awesome!!! That would definitely be a good truck for you.
Keep the steering tires on. All my trucks had steering tires because when it comes time to change the steering, swap the rears to the front and put the steers on the rear. Save yourself the price of new steers. Put a vented cover behind the cab so as you have good air flow. This looks like it would be a good purchase. By the way, I'm from Canada and never had a problem with the steers on the rear.
Need to really think if this is something you want to buy in place of what you really want....don't feel rushed or pressured to buy this one, the one you want will come thru. Choice you have to make, if you want to sacrifice what you want for this one opportunity...just be sure.
There's a couple nice ones ready to roll with fresh rebuild down in your neck of the woods. One for $11k and one for $35k.

There one difference between international cab over the the rest when you jack the cab up you want see floor roughly like the other cab overs plus easier to get parts for I know I have 5 international cab overs I wouldn't trade them for nothing better ride than the Pete's kw or fright Shaker cab covers to me

Does he have the headlight chrome bezel trim, and a Chrome grill? Maybe put some lights on the back of the cab. I didn't see a work light on it too. Tim had two of them body style trucks.
Sometimes your first thought is the best one.
When it comes to something like that you may have to pull the trigger when the opportunity comes and work around the stuff that you don’t like about it. But if it was me and I could wait I would try to find a flat floor International. Especially if I was your height.

For an '88 that looks very decent. I'd say, grab it if it's a good deal.
It would be hard to pass that up. May be more than what you were planning on spending, but it's in very good shape. I'm like you, not really a fan of the International COE, but that one is nice.

Does she have jakes? I have a 85 362 that I'm working on and have to put jakes on it. The only other problem I have with mine is it only does 60mph and I want it to atleast do 65.

Personally I don't think you should buy this one. But it's you're money and life so do as you please bruddah. However, it feels like you're considering this because you have wanted one for so long, and feels like you'd buy it just so you can finally have a cabover. Why not wait to find what you REALLY wanted and fix that up and then start going to truck shows? This ain't the one to be honest. Just me tho. Stay safe driver!

The only person I know that has a cabover international is Braxton Gentry and he’s I’m guessing here like 10-12 years old and it’s definitely a looker and nearly truck show ready too!!! They call it the Air Force cab over!!!
