  • CONSISTENTLY Australia's greatest racer throughout the 70s and 80s, Phil Crump led his country to their first World Team Cup triumph in 1976. For the first time, you can now view all of his races on that epic, historic day at London's White City, plus the qualifying round at Ipswich where the Aussies sensationally knocked out holders England.
    This unique double-disc set, spanning almost four hours, showcases the class of courageous Crumpie from 1974 until 1991, featuring 127 races across seven countries, including six different Aussie venues and 16 British League tracks.
    * Racing for Newport at Wasps' Somerton Park track and also at Swindon and Oxford.
    * Starring for Swindon Robins.
    * Marathon man shows his strength and durability as winner of the 16-Lapper at Ipswich.
    * Powering to outstanding success in the 1975 Australasian Final at Sydney, featuring his debut on the new Street four-valve engine.
    * Leading his country to victory in the 1974 World Pairs semi-final at Rodenbach, Germany and to the silver medal (with John Boulger) in the final at Belle Vue.
    * His ruthless, controversial battles with main Aussie rival Billy Sanders.
    *Phil in action at various other Australian venues, including his Mildura stomping ground, plus The Ekka (Brisbane), Speedway Park and North Arm (Adelaide) and Newcastle Motordrome.
    * Beating reigning World Champion Per Jonsson and racing wheel to wheel with future great Tony Rickardsson as well as the best of the Aussies in the early 90s.
    * Rare long-track action from Haldon, Devon, where Phil roars to victory showing his back wheel to Ole Olsen and Bruce Penhall.
    * Contemporary interviews with Crumpie, including a chat just prior to his 1990 comeback for Swindon.

    Crumpie was the master around the Crewe Kings “Sugar Bowl” as we called it.
    Still the longest posthumous track in the country, beating the mighty Exeter, even mentioned in the Guiness Book of records courtesy of Barry Meeks and latterly Davie Morton, brother of Chris.
    Happy happy days 😌 🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏁

    Funny how you remember wrong. I always think of Crump having the Robin on his bib, but I wasnt going to Belle Vue by 79. It would be Newport or Bristol. Ashby and Crump definitely at Swindon, but Ashby left as Crump came. Dont know where I got it from.
