Hey thank you for the review. I'll be in a similar situation as you in a couple weeks. Going from NYC to Thailand with a 1hour connection. Also flying Air China with both gates in Terminal 3. Just wanted to ask how much time did you have to spare once you got to your new gate? Did they let you cut in line for customs or anything like that? Luggage recheck? Anything would help. Thanks!!!
Thank you for watching! We didn't ask to get off the plane early to get through customs nor did we ask to cut any lines, and we still had 15 minutes to spare. If both of your fights are with the same airline, you will not need to collect your checked bags and re-check them. The airline will transfer your bags from one plane to the next for you. Safe travels!
1 hour transit is very stressful !!!!! recently, i flew from toronto to lisbon, then transit to rome. i had to go through immigration at portugal and there was a huge line up at immigration !!! fortunately, a staff directed me to go through the fast lane and i was able to make it with about 10 minutes to spare as the airlines was announcing last call to board !!!! i will be flying Air China to Beijing in March/2020, will see how it goes. Thank you for your info, much helpful.
Great video and review, I’m flying with Air China from London to Beijing next week, and this definitely makes me feel a bit more prepared on what to expect!
Thanks for the video. We're traveling from Dulles to Phuket with a 18 hr layover in Beijing. We looked online and saw that we don't need a visa from connections through Beijing. Did you guys have visas?
Greta video! Do you know if you are allowed to bring your own devices onboard such as ipads? Are there.charging facilities? Also, are there movies in English to watch onboard? Thanks
Thank you! Yes, you can bring iPads onto the airplane and there was a way to charge, as well. Actually, most of the movies are in English. Safe travels! :) Thanks for watching!
Yes, our connecting flight was in Beijing to Phuket. We only had an hour in between flights, so if you have an hour and 50 minutes, you should be fine. Have a great time!!
Great video! I am a bit surprised that they had the seats in 3 - 4 - 3 on this flight from Vancouver to Beijing. The aircraft looked like a 777 which usually has the seats in a 3 - 3 - 3 layout, ( though there are less seats per row towards the rear since the cabin gets a bit more narrow back there, which is why your row had 2 - 4 - 2 seating.) Some airlines are trying to squeeze in an extra seat per row to make more revenue but it also means your seats on the 777 were narrower compared to few other 777 aircrafts economy class. Most of Air China has their seats in a 3 - 3 - 3 layout, which as my aunt remarked, had wider seats and wider aisles, since she had flown from Vancouver to Beijing too. Really enjoyed this honest and nice review, that tip you gave about the tight connection time is very important indeed! I hope you all have even more pleasant journeys in the future ! :D
report looks great! yeah if the connection is tight as 1 hour, and you are lucky enough to make it, bags may not be able to, as they need machines or people to sort again. Longer connection would mean less problematic.
@@7mina914 Three of us had a carry on bag 21" tall and one of us had a carry on bag 22" tall. My husband and son had backpacks as a personal item. As long as you can place it under the seat in front of you, it usually counts as a personal item. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching! Safe travels! :)
Im traveling from lax to china going to Philippines its my first time using air china. I choose this airline cause its cheap but im really scared about the catch? I dont care if no entertainment or food lol. I just want to know if k will land safe. Btw is the seat spacious or basic? Thank u so much ive google reviews but i get mixed comment some say its bad some says is good
Thank you for watching! I thought there was a tiny bit more space than other airlines, but not very noticeable. You still need to climb over people to get to the bathroom, if you're not in an aisle seat. :/ I was concerned about the short connection too; however, things were not very far apart. We made it to our next flight with 15 minutes to spare. We did not stop to use the bathroom, shop or buy food. Have a safe and fun trip! :)
I’m Chinese and I’m living in the UK now, what I wan to say that I had an unpleasant flight with air China, also the price wasn’t very cheap at all, even more expensive than European airlines
Awesome video. Looking forward to more content

Thanks for watching! I'm so glad the video was helpful for you! Have a great trip! :)
How was it?
I would have definitely checked if there was inflight entertainment before booking, especially for longhaul.
Thanks so much for the review as im traveling to UK from Hong Kong with this airline soon 🙏
Is the seat assigned? I planning to book a trip using air China to Thailand too but a bit sketchy about it. Honestly, I’ve heard very bad reviews
Mary Yang you’re able to choose your seats, which is really nice. We were able to sit together.
Should I purchased my ticket $412 using air China round trip to bkk? What do you think
Mary Yang I’m not sure. I normally go with the most inexpensive. Air China happened to be the most reasonable for our flight.

Candace White we did not leave the airport and did not need a visa for our connection in Beijing. Thank you for watching! Have a great trip! :)

It is a domestic version 777, maybe during peak seasons Air China use these type of aircraft instead of regular international version of 777.

I'm trying to find out if they allow carry-on with economy tickets. The site is unclear
Yes, each of us were allowed to bring a carry on bag and a personal item. Safe travels. :)
@@takingflightonabudget3734 thank you!!
How big was your carry on and your personal items?
First time flying I have so many questions that the site don’t answer

Hye. Do we need to have visa if we just transit in beijing for about 4 hours? Thanks!
No visa required for a 4 hour transit .

Thank you for your comment! You have a good point. Flight costs vary by location and time of year. Thanks for watching!
Their meals are predictable but edible haha. I would recommend to get the pork noodle next time. Their prawn in rice are incredibly bland
Air China normally charges higher prices, even for poor flights.
My word, you're crazy to be eating those low grade prawns
CA992 ! ! !
Speak a bit faster please.
I couldn't really see your face underneath all the botox
you could use some
