The World is Not Enough - Caravan Of Garbage

- Опубликовано: 1 окт 2024
- We're back for another Pierce Brosnan James Bond classic, The World Is Not Enough from 1999. This time the villain has a bullet in his brain but that apparently is a good thing. We also get the return of Robbie Coltrane, Sophie Marceau as Elektra King and who could forget Denise Richards as Dr Christmas Jones. Anyways there's a super boat chase, a submarine, MI6 gets infiltrated and all of this doesn't add up to much. Also we do the N64 video game. Thanks for watching!

The 50k likes is an empty threat we’ve already recorded Die Another Day.
I'm sure there will be 50K likes no matter what.
Simps, she was pretty terrible my dudes just say it
These soy kids can't even go in on a threat
Release it NOW!
This was my first bond movie where i actually understood everything happening and i liked it. It was the terrible film that die another day was. In fact i would rate it better than quantum of solace as well, too.
"Women can like men too"
James is the king of progressive thinking
That line is 100% the best part of this video.

I thought Denise Richards was amazing in this movie. To be fair I was 16 when I saw this and I didn't remember her name, anything she said, or anything she did, but yeah. Brilliant.
That was definitely the Denise Richards market lol
Yeah, to a young Trey on the cusp of puberty, I really liked Dr. Christmas (Jones? Smith? I dunno, she’s hot.)
In the end, it's not Denise's fault. The creators could have saved everyone a lot of grief had they not kept her around for the final 10 mins!
I had no problems with her performance or Lara Croft inspired outfit 🤷🏻♂️ still don’t
i’m low-key disappointed they didn’t play on the fact that the bond song for this film was performed by garbage
wait wut
StAUG1211 the bond song in the film was done by an actual band called ‘garbage’
By Grabthar's Hammer.. what a miss..

Well there you go. This movie came out when I was 13, and probably didn't know who Garbage were. I've learned something.
I wonder what Denise thought when the producers were all "Yeah, no, she's a totally different kind of Bond Girl! Now here's your short shorts and tank top."
Prob something like “I hope I can do cocaine and marry Charlie Sheen one day.”
Denise Richards is definitely enough
Her silicone helped increase that submarine's Buoyancy
Lmao fr I don’t think she was there to act. I think it was a duality of skills she possesses. She really knows how to project a line from her CHEST🌚🤷🏻♂️
Not enough to make Starship Troopers a success
I can't. I read once she smells of cigarettes and Charlie's Sheen.

Mr.Sunday Movies: That's incredible!
"I like it when MI-6 gets infiltrated."
- GoldenEye: 006 is a traitor
- Tomorrow Never Dies: clean
- The World is Not Enough: bomb planted at MI6
- Casino Royale: Vesper Lynd is technically treasury, but yeah, mole
- Quantum of Solace: M's bodyguard is a double agent for Quantum/Spectre
- Skyfall: Silva's entire quest to kill M, including a virus in Q's bunker
- Spectre: the 9 Eyes program is a front for Spectre to perform mass surveillance backed by Moria- Max. His name is Max. Andrew Scott's C.
So in the last 8 Bond flicks, there have been 7 moles. Man, MI6 is not a secure intelligence organization at all.
It’s almost as bad as CTU from 24.
Same with MIF. Everyone is always going rogue
You forgot that Die another day has another mole, so that's 8 for 8.
@@munromister777 I didn't, just didn't list it. It's still 7/8 (3 of 4 Brosnan movies, 4/4 Craig movies).
Well, I mean, for a secret agent, every single person seems to know he's a spy, and not only because he uses his name nearly everywhere he goes.
I was a bit thrown last weekend when I was watching You Only Live Twice and he went into Osato calling himself Mr. Fisher. Especially since they immediately knew he was a spy anyway.
You should do the 2 Dalton films after this. You would be done in only 2 weeks and he was basically Craig Bond before Craig.
I loooove license to kill but am not a fan of the living daylights
People forget that The Living Daylights is more of a Roger Moore style movie. License to Kill is the one you're talking about.
I like both. Plots of both, though humour was a bit off in first, and less of an edge.
@@35antonio Really? Bond barely quips and only sleeps with one woman.
Clay3613 I mean they had toned down the quips and comedy but they still have a few quips that feel like they were made for Moore and you can tell Dalton isn’t very comfortable delivering them

Don't try to tell me 'the best and only' Connery hadn't as pathetic lines
And they thought it was strong enough to be their closer!

I wonder if the character was named so just for that joke
Robbie Coltrane is unreal in these movies. “MY KNEE ACHES EVERY DAY, twice as bad when it is cold. Do you know how long the winter lasts here? Tell him Dimitri!.... silence!”
He's amazing but I also love Minnie Driver yelling "STOND BY YOUR MON" in the background
I love Dimitris reply. "Well it depends..."
Had Zukovsky never been shot by 007 in the knee (as we learn in goldeneye), he'd had never been in position to save Bond's life with the cane gun 😮

Bond should have used his magnetic watch to kill the villain by pulling out the bullet lodged in the villain's brain
bullet made of lead... it non-magnetised ....
@@campkira Yeah, yeah but it could have been steel tipped ! or even tungsten! Oh BTW most modern bullets have copper jackets but that doesn't help much as copper is only weakly magnetic.

I actually liked this film. I love the villain she manipulated Bond and it looked like Bond was genuinely hurt by her betrayal. It is also shows How cold blooded he is.
I might be in the minority but I actually really like this film. I think the twist of the real villain is brilliant & subversive for a Bond film. It also convinced me that Brosnan with better scripts & less goofy antics could be a great hard ass 007. He just had the unfortunate task of coming after Dalton, the roughest, most serious Bond to date. Because of that they opted to go campy with Brosnan which is a shame because his last 2 films had flashes of what a brilliant Bond he was & could be but he was overshadowed with surrounding garbage. Prime example? The absolutely horrendous and terrible casting of Denise Richards CAN NOT BE DEFENDED! lol
I agree with you I think this movie is awesome. The only Brosnan Bond film I have a problem with is Die Another Day. The script... ooooof
Shayla M I literally did a double take while watching Die Another Day! I couldn’t believe how bad it was!? lol
@@langleymneely there are parts of it that are good but WOW what a bad script
Dalton's movies were terrible. They could have easily resulted in the death of the franchise. Super-low stakes, boring plots that drag on. Campyness is an integral characteristic of Bond; set by the foundation laid by Connery.
Sam To each their own but I am not a fan of the campiness that was solidified by Moore’s era. I’d counter that the original books and early Connery films were far more grounded than what the franchise eventually became. Austin Powers became a success when it did for a reason: almost 2 decades of over the top camp in 007 films. I think that almost destroyed the franchise long before Brosnan was ever cast.
"Grow up, 007," is my favourite Q line of all time. Just his delivery. 😂
Oh, I have such a weird story about this. When I was 11 my school used to takes us to see a kids movie once a year for a special screening. But for some reason, there was a screw up at the local theater and they played this instead of some kid's movie (probably one of the Beethoven movies. It was always Beethoven". my teachers weren't movie savvy at all and thought this was a kids movie. Y'know what maybe they weren't good teachers because they probably even left the theater. So it was this bunch of kids just hitting puberty and seeing this movie. Our faces were red by the time the movie stopped and my friends and I didn't talk to each other for the entire day and pretended nothing happened. Also, one of my friends told me that Bond girl means that they are related to Bond and everyone thought those women were Jame's sister. I'm pretty sure few kids cried and that's when the adults realized they were playing the wrong movie. It was pretty late in the movie too.
It was a chaotic day and this was my first James bond movie.
Day 50 of asking for Sky High on caravan of Garbage.
I do love the obscure Australian references you guys include. Makes me proud to be an Australian!

The World is Not Enough is way more interesting than Tomorrow Never Dies. And I'd say that Sophie Marceau is actually one of the most underrated Bond villains ever.
Agreed!
11:20 Why does the fire extinguisher create a fiery explosion?
Perfect video game logic, everything explodes. 😆
Hollywood magic
Because you shot it duh.
Because it's a red thing in a video game.
Denise Richards was something else 😍
Please do Space Jam. Would love to trash that movie that I loved as a kid
I don’t remember Bond being in that.
The World is not Enough definitely falls as my second favorite of the Brosnan films, but it's definitely a guilty pleasure type of movie.
(How could you gloss over the fact that the title, later referenced as Bond's family motto when Bond is talking to Elektra, actually isn't BS and dates back to On Her Majesty's Secret Service? I am outraged! /sarcasm)
Sophie Marceau is single-handedly responsible for kick-starting my puberty.
Oi .... are you boys gonna cover Bionicle content????
"Women can like men too" is one of the funniest things you've ever said, I'm in tears
"Toot toot, here comes the Robbie Col-Train" had me laughing hysterically. Well done on the graphic.
That "... Christmas comes... " line was literally the only part of this movie I remembered from when I saw it in theaters. That's how much of an impact the movie made.
Sneaky bionicle reference at the end there. I’m all for it.
I literally forgot about this one, I only remember the opening.
Which is, ironically, the most forgettable part.
@@WillWilsonthesafetyguy after fully watching this, It wasn't the opening in the bank which I went "Oh yeah that was the actual opening", it was the boat chase I actually remember.
This and the newspaper one were different movies? Huh.
@@jims9685 newspaper one I always liked growing up, but I don't think I hardly watched this one
Adolfin Himler that is definitely the most memorable part. Otherwise it’s a forgetfest. I do like the relationship between Electra and Begbie, but the film is otherwise an empty fart. Still, better than the next one!
Sophie Marceau is the best Bond Femme Fatale ever. This is Brosnan at his suave best. There is a great, twisty storyline moving things along and giving Bond emotional hurdles. Great use of M. A truly terrific boat sequence. Intriguing locations. Stellar directing. This is an underrated classic. I will inflate my jacket into a protective bubble and weather the snow fury of people who disagree. Yes, Denise Richards is bad... I get it.
Plus: the bad guy who has a bullet lodged in his brain and subsequently can't feel pain is a pretty awesome concept. He's played by Robert Carlyle, I think.

Denise Richards aside, i think this is a great Bond flim.
Elektra's a great main villain (It's not Renard) and the proper bond girl of the film.
Before Skyfall, this film gave Judi Dench's M the most to do.
Brosnan is at his best here too if you ask me.
Dont just tease me with Bionicle

Please do a Caravan of Garbage on the Batman Begins game. It’s so shithouse.
Before Arkham it was the best Batman game we had. Post Arkham and it's hard to think what was actually good about it.
Yeah, you’re totally right. I played the hell out of that game as a kid but looking back now it’s hard to know why, haha. It just goes to show that Arkham didn’t need to be half as good as it was. It just needed to be better than that. Glad it turned out the way it did though.

I remember being 20 and seeing this in theatres with my GF at the time. At the end of the movie when James Bond says that joke “I thought Christmas only comes once a year”
I could not stop laughing!! It was like I just heard the Dave Chapelle’s “juicy Smule” joke for the 1st time. Worst part was I was the only one in the theatre laughing and everybody was looking at me.... That is a good joke though!!
You just know they named her that just to do that joke.
21:50 Bionicle!
I actually enjoy this one. It was after I saw this film that I came up with my username (back in the AOL days). Denise Richards was the weakest part of the film. I actually enjoyed the rest quite a bit. I was always a Roger Moore fan and this one seemed to up the campiness so maybe that’s why I connected with it.
Let's not forget that in Tomorrow Never Dies, Q just stands with Bond as that car comes screaming towards them. The man has bigger balls than Bond.
iv been watching the bond films for the first time and hes honestly super unproffesional. drinking on the job , having sex with women on the job ect.
How many STIs and STDs do you think Bond has contracted?
He’s not even a very good spy. He’s always falling into traps and narrowly escaping, usually with outside help or luck. I have started to view the movies as less about a super spy and more about a terrible spy that somehow keeps getting the job done with luck and style. It’s more of a spy movie spoof than I thought it was as a teen.
Meme Lord there’s no way of knowing , he defs has a drinking problem and it’s remarkable how he considers getting intoxicated whilst in such dire situations appropriate. The next bond film should just be an intervention for the man.
Cody Monroe yeah true ! I feel like it’s like someone behind the scenes is living vicariously through the character somehow.
fenix funny you say that because that’s how a lot of people feel the character came about. In WWII Ian Fleming served as a Navy Commander (just like Bond) gathering intelligence on Germany. So many theorise that Fleming more or less based the character on himself but exaggerating certain traits and placing Bond in heightened situations that he (nor anyone really) ever got to experience.
"women can like men too" is my favorite quote of 2020
Denise Richards - can't pronounce nuclear.
"Christmas only comes once a year" Doesn't that imply he's bad at sex?
lol
I watched this just to hear what Caravan of GARBAGE thought of the GARBAGE song, but they didn't even mention it. I'm so sad.
"there would never be a person called Christmas Jones"...
BUT there is an ACTUAL person called January Jones..!!! 😁🤣
Why the random Bionicle reference at the end? XD
Actress for Electra is in more well known movies than Lady who was married to Charlie Sheen? Or Matt Dillon, forgot which.
She's also an actress with alot of controversy and my grandma dislikes her alot cause she so bad.
I am hoping you guys play 007 Nightfire for gamecube. Just make sure not to play the PC version cause that version sucks and was made by a different company. It's an original story and a really fun game. I feel it was better then Goldeneye for N64.
These bond films were still great but over cheesy camp and unrealistic
I’m so glad they changed to Craig
This movie’s video game was one of my favorites growing up. Most kids had Goldeneye, I had this one
Yes TWINE on 64 had better graphics, levels, gameplay and immersion than the very overrated Goldeneye.
I honestly don't understand the hate that this film gets from some people? Is it one of the best Bond films, no. But it's solid and entertaining enough. Brosnan and Judi Dench are both really good, Elektra King is actually one of my favorite Bond villains, Robbie Coltrane is a lot of fun, it's got some cool action scenes, etc.
Is it perfect, no. Denise Richards was miscast, Renard is somewhat wasted potential, and the plot is nothing special, etc. But I thing that it deserves more respect than it gets.
I think it's a small step up from Tomorrow Never Dies, but The World Is Not Enough is not as good as Goldeneye or as bad as Die Another Day.
I think this is the strongest Bond film of the 90s, they didn't cast Denise Richards well at all however the rest of the film is solid and brought Bond away from crazy gadgets.
I always wanted to see the double 0 who shot renard in the head.......DIE ANOTHER DAY is next lads!
I always pictured Reynard pissing himself laughing as he's watching bond rappel out of that bank window.
Um actually at 21:52 that Bionicle clip is from the Mata Nui Online Game II not a Bionicle TV Show so I'd like an apology.
Could you please consider some Prequel era Star Wars comics for Caravan of Garbage? Also two of them (Jedi Council: Acts of War and Obsession) have a Jedi side character called Bayts... who eventually becomes a master.
Anyone else read this film as Elektra actually manipulating Renard and convincing this international terrorist to do her bidding?
This Bond had the hottest Bond girls, Denis Richards is awful but at the time she was a big deal. But Elektra, the assassin and even the Doc are all 👌👌
I honestly think Electra King is one of the better Bond femme fatales and that her death is one of pierce Brosans best moments. But almost everything else about the third act and Denise Richards casting cannot be defended.
This movie will always have a special place in my heart ,because this was my first Bond film . My uncle bought it at ..Blockbuster ?Some video store .. and I watched and fell in love with Bond. I've been a fan ever sesne ,watching all the movies (besides the new one ) .

It's my second favorite Brosnan movie, after Goldeneye, and I still think is a pretty great movie. It has a dark plot and we see Bond get hurt, a first in the series. Also Elektra is one of the best vilains in the series.
Mine too, I think. Goldeneye, this, TND, and prob DAD at end, for how... silly it got.
It did START very well, though.

@@langleymneely No it was overrated for years, only recently have people seen it for the bore that it is.
