This. Is seriously. The best. Movie. EVER. And my absolute favorite. I cried harder than I've ever cried at anything. Tim Roth is highly underrated

It was a bit naive at moments but yes quite good 👍😊

This ending has always been a shelter for any deeply introverted person.
When loved ones are gone and friends are forgotten, there will be a place in ruins down there, and someone impeccably dressed as if still waiting for the moment to start living a normal life, even if that means waiting for the current one to end.

This is one of the greatest Masterpieces of Italian cinema, pure art on motion, life encapsulated in a sequence of images. This is what cinema should be.

I cried so hard during this… the fact that he knew that he wasn’t ready for the world, he wasn’t ready for what his talent could bring him. Honestly, I cried so hard. 😭😭😭

    I love this movie.
Truly Brilliant in every form. I disagree with the ending though, 1900 is unwilling to live with endless choices, which is what we all have to do (even he did though he didn't realize it), its a greater number of keys, not an endless one.
I honestly believe that the banter at the end was a desperate plea to Max to Convince him to leave, he needed to be engaged intellectually.....still.
A beautiful moment, this film is one of the best.

Having worked on ships and then got off to have relationships, family and to 'make' it in the wide world, I perfectly understand what 1900 is saying. I chose journalism which seeks to engage with the entire world, equipped myself to succeed in it, studied at the best journalism school in the world, got married, ...looks like I was too ambitious...Maybe I was better off on a ship...the machines needed to be maintained...but if you opened the right valves, kept putting grease, did the regular maintenance, the machines worked perfectly. I remember speaking to my engine and hearing it tell me it was happy. In the wide world, that's not the case. You do all the right things, yet you make mistakes and flounder. I am planning to go back to shipping now...

This movie became a metaphor for my life. Stuck at a dead end job where I too was a virtuoso, but not of music, rather in the culinary arts. I worked at a College dining facility, and year after year watched the world pass me by 2,000 students at a time. The place was called Plaza 900. Eventually, I stepped off the ship, but rather than finding shore, I find myself on another ship going back and forth and ultimately taking me nowhere.

I don't think 1900 is real here. His suit is oddly clean. Our guy is just imagining his friend here.

1900 and "Conn". Max the "Conn" trumpet player,. No End. Yes I will sign up to that, now.
Confluence ~ Cue Elf - Conn
Almost Heaven. Yes. We heard the sound of Trumpets last Sunday - no pate foie gras to scoff. To eat. The late Reverend Sydney Smith wit may have had to call that therefore - Almost heaven. 1900 mentions to Max St Peter and for reasons Coldplay cannot explain..... never mind.

U got it backwards, havin lived confined on tha ship his entire life, he cannot deal wit tha overwhelming virtually infinite amount of possibilities n choices n options dat life on land entails; he cannot accept a existence in which one is xpected to perceive tha multitudinous potential of life n actively choose just ONE of erythang out of vast infinite potentials: just ONE job, just ONE house, just ONE wife. Hed rather have nothin & stick wit wat hes always known than make dat choice, cuz wat terrifies him is tha endlessness n limitlessness n eternity implicit within tha choice. His comments bout gods piano would seem 2 imply dat he een considers making tha choice 2 act against tha circumstances of ones birth & rise above ones station n navigate lifes infinite possibilities 2 b almost blasphemous in nature

    • @tylernietvelt2026
      @tylernietvelt2026 3 года назад +3

He literally says everything has an end. What he didn't see on land was an end, too many possibilities for him, on the ship he had a finite amount that he could grasp, but out there as he puts it is God's piano, you can't play music with infinite keys, only finite
