Hi there! I am Joseph.
I have been an immigrant / expat living in central Portugal along with my beautiful girlfriend Mariana for seven years now.
Together Mariana, my father Clinton and myself, would like to show you a bit of the daily goings on around our Portuguese farm / homestead / smallholding and all of the work we are doing whilst renovating, starting building projects, working with our livestock, DIY and trying to grow our little families own food!
See our journey to self-sufficiency / permaculture / organic farming living in Portugal, trying to produce as much of our own food planting vegetables, growing fruit trees as well as looking after all our animals, such as our chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks, quail, rabbits and sheep - Shortly pigs too!

Thank you honestly for this comment! I've found this channel some months ago now, and have been dreaming of owning these types of properties outside of my comfort zone and country of the US. This was a very comforting and informative comment to continue researching and saving!

very nice property ,great job joseph wishing you a great olive harvest this year , we have started our olive harvest here in Jordan and somehow its okay, I and my foamily will be glade to visit you one day when we visit Portugal, watching your video's made me anxious to visit and might invest in Portugal.

The plant is called, Aloe Vera, you can make skin cream out of it (watch on youtube) In Belgium the sell 1 leaf for almost 5 euro.

A fabulous little farm, almost turnkey ready for an individual, couple or family. Couple of downsides, the nearby farm looked pretty scruffy from the aerial and the buildings on the drive could be an issue, but also an opportunity if they could be bought at reasonable cost. This farm is probably the best I have seen presented by all the channels that I watch, for the money be asked.

I do not need to wonder about that personally, my daughter would never have been born, I would not have met the love of my life, I would be stuck in a dead end job and not doing what I love…. This one is very tempting :). I have determined that I am too old to be getting involved in bone-deep restoration properties and really want somewhere that I can just buy and move in ... of course there is that whole moving-to-another-country and getting residency problem to overcome :sigh:

My grandmother immigrated to Brazil, place I was born, when she was only a child. I had the chance to meet her mother as well as they died very late in life. I the Portuguese passport because of my Portuguese family. I live in Ireland for 17 years and its a dream for us to go to Portugal. I hope to do it soon.
I think the Portuguese are very clever to use what resources they have. I never would’ve considered getting milk fro goats.
The best milk , I grew up on goat milk and cheese, never had any illnesses!
You can get goats milk in supermarkets in the UK
Ever eaten Feta cheese? Goats. Goat milk is very popular in the USA.

I cannot wait until I retire in April, I’ll be able to see the cherry blossoms maybe. I will not miss the US and there isn’t enough room for me to live comfortably here. I know that I will want to spend the rest of my life there. I get to come fora short trip in January. Yeah!

A very nice farm house. I love to have it. But I’m not a resident in Portugal and don’t speak the language . Secondly am 68 yrs old , hard to maintain the farm , although am still active.

Hello there!!! Thank you for subscribing! We are slap bang in the middle of Porto and Lisboa, just depends which is easier for your connections. Lisboa has a train journey without changes to Fundao. I moved here only knowing English and learning Portuguese was an amazing experience :)

hello are you a real estate agent? For agriculture, there are guide value tables in Germany, divided into arable land, meadows, forest, water moor etc. = UN Unland and depending on the federal state at 0.20 € / m2 pasture at approx. 4.50 -6.50 € / m2, there are also such tables in Their country?

Property in Portugal may be much cheaper than the UK, but much on the same level as the US. And, from what I've seen on other video's, you should plan on doubling the price to pay all the taxes and fees. Fairly nice little farm though.
