So does Daisy actually work to make the sour cream? There seems to be debate if using cream and yogurt makes yogurt or sour cream, and I have Daisy, but am trying to find out of it works because it is cultured cream but doesnt say it is live cultures?
If you’re using yogurt cultures aren’t you just making yogurt not sour cream? Does it taste different? Or is it just that maybe the yogurt was made with lower fat milk and this is made with cream?
Yogurt cultures are used to make sour cream because they contain the necessary bacteria (lactic acid bacteria) that ferment the cream, producing lactic acid which thickens the cream and gives it its characteristic sour taste; lol I had to goggle it. I wasn’t sure if the answer but the taste is very good. Hope this helps😊
I usually just turn my oven light on for at least 30 minutes, and then I put the jar in and leave the light on. Especially during the Summer.😉

Don’t use Daisy. It has to be live culture. Once you make this you never want to eat store bought again.
