How does it work?
It has a catalyst (palladium)on the sensor which chemically converts combustible gases to other compounds, releasing heat which is detected by the electronics.

My old master use to tell me if there is a fire on a gas line to never shut the main valve off because it will suck the flame in and cause a explosion ... I feel like that is fucking stupid and not true.
