Yes, and as a former PA on Glee told me - Lea was told NOT to acknowledge fans, as that would lead to a slowdown in production, which costs a lot of money. I wish these paparazzi types would educate themselves about what these actors are up against. Contractually, they MUST do what the producers say. Lea may have wanted to wave and sign autographs, but if she had done that, she would have been seriously punished by the studio.

anyone who would yell "ignore your fans" is not a fan. Fans might yell her name, but would not insult her. I've also never heard anyone say she was a bitch - they say she is a serious professional and focuses on the work - but that is what gets her jobs.

dude, she's working. wouldn't you get in trouble if you were at work and a bunch of your friends came in and started talking to you and distracting you from your job? same thing. just because she's a celebrity doesn't mean that she still has a job to do as an actor. It takes tons of mental preparation to deliver a scene well...she's not going to break that to say hi to you. totally unprofessional.

Yes, and actors get in a lot of trouble for slowing down production, especially location shoots. Lea was explicitly told NOT to wave or acknowledge fans, as that would lead to a slowdown and cost money. I was fortunate to have a friend who spent 2 years on Glee as a PA, and she told me this. I had no idea, but now I understand why actors who are shooting scenes are simply not allowed to talk with fans.
Even if she wasn’t working she has no obligation to acknowledge people

All I see is a young hardworking girl trying to do her job.
For all those who watched this and are saying she's not very nice. I've seen her in the city tons of times. When she was in Spring Awakening (which she did for years) she never missed a stage door session after the shows - even when only her, Jon Groff and one or two others showed up, and she was always sweet, talked, signed autographs and posed for pics. But, when you're on the clock doing scenes that just happen to be shooting on the streets, you're working-not socializing. She's a nice girl.
This is my experience with her, too. She's a lovely person who certain people are trying to paint as "difficult," probably because she's a strong Jewish female. She was so sweet to my nana and me at the airport, signing for us and allowing us to take a selfie. All of the folks who are piling on her now can go to hell.

She is obviously in work mode here and preparing for her scene. Lea is VERY good to her fans . . . the ones who are actually fans and aren't trying to exploit her and use her to make money for themselves. The guy filming never seems to lack disparaging comments about Lea and what she "gives" to the fans. He said something similar when he filmed her during the Fox Upfronts in May and was immediately proven wrong when she approached countless legitimate fans to sign autographs. Jerk.
I love Glee. But damn, the fans can be so annoying. She's a working professional. Many people don't get that this is a JOB. She may love what she loves, but it's still a job that needs to be done correctly. That calls for no distractions and blimps in schedules because fans demand attention.

Fans are freaking crazy. It'd be exhausting to greet them while you're working. They often have 16-17 hour days. There are time and places for meet and greets. On the clock is not one of them.

Wow, I couldn't have said it better myself! Seriously, everything you said was perfectly stated, and I completely agree. Lea was being a professional, and she wasn't being rude to anyone; she was just staying in the zone. If I were her, I would be overwhelmed and kind of annoyed by all those people staring at me while I'm trying to act. I don't get the big deal about following around celebrities anyway.

Why does the security and crew have to be so rude to the fans? Many people wanted to get a glimpse of her (Autograph or Photo). I know she's working but they need time in between for the actors to meet their fans.

Aside from the poor use of the word "retarded" (especially considering one her her costars, lauren potter, is part of a campaign to end the use of that word) this. People need to learn that when people are working, they're working, theyre not on their time, their on someone elses time. it's the same as when you're at work and you cant take personal phone calls or sit and chat like your out with friends. Celebs don't even owe it to you when they're on their own time, let alone when theyre working

That is exactly the kind of thing he wants to happen There's going to be a nice picture of her coming after this guy and yelling at him or hitting him. He get's front page on the entertainment magazines. The incident will be written up in ALL the media as lea striking a photographer and he could file assault charges against her. He get's a couple hundred or so and she gets bad press. A good deal for the photographer.
