One of the best places I ever worked in, so many memorable stories to tell, like for example, we spent about 6 hours setting up the Dinning room table for about 84 guests, once we had set up I was heading home, going out through the main Gates which brings you out onto Bailiffgate, a Lady stepped up to me and asked, " Excuse me young man, could you tell me where Alnwick Castle is please", with out trying to laugh I just pointed over my shoulder and said, " its just there".
I Loved all the architecture and the detailing not to mention those books amazingly exquisite! Thank You so very much for sharing. I will plan a visit.
Northumberland close to the Scottish English border. It is the original dwelling for Harry Potter and all of his friends. Undoubtedly one of my favorite castles in all of Great Britain and I believe it to be another frequented by my English and Scottish ancestors.
The home of my Percy ancestors! On my must-see bucket list. Even today, hard to beat a nickname like "Hotspur". Harry Potter is fantasy; the Crusades, the Gunpowder Plot, the Border Wars are real history!
Yeah yeah yeah she’s my 14th grandmother to my best friend is her grandson, the local librarian her too, all my neighbors she is their 14th grandmother too, same with my mechanic, and the manager of my local grocery store yeah yeah yeah so is the homeless guy down the street from me he is related to her too no lies
My ancestor was Maud de Percy, wife of John Neville, 3rd Baron Neville de Raby and the daughter of Henry 9th Baron Percy and 2nd Baron Percy of Alnwick and mother of Ralph Neville, 1st Earl of Westmorland, Baron Neville de Raby and Lord of Richmond. I bet her life was exciting. LOL
Hello! This castle is a building site at the moment! It's not worth visiting at the moment! An entrance fee of 20 Pounds and the missing permission of taking photos in the inside are two more reasons not to visit this place! ;-) Greetings Renate and Olaf #Trackbreaker
@@qvxnfn9034 yeah I grew up there too, so did my best friend, and the local McDonald’s cashier, and all my neighbors they use to live there too. And the cashier at the gas station, the local librarian, lol
