    Another thing people that's not from our area don't understand the type of ground that we have to work on and have worked on all of our lives anything can happen but you pay more attention on steep ground than you do flat ground I've been on a tractor since a 5-year-old great video

      You’re right, around here we have to learn to be good operators and more aware of the equipment capabilities because of the terrain! Thank you!

    Ben, I’ve watched your channel for years. And you can tell how you run your equipment you’ve had years of experience. You don’t ram stuff, you over rev your engine, you let the tool do the work. Your channel is one of the best on learning proper ways to use your equipment to get the most out of it.

    Good afternoon Ben! Been watching your channel for awhile through all the seasons of the year. You grew up in the area and know the land and the equipment that you are working with. Your people there have worked two wheel drive equipment for ages. I know from watching your videos that the MF 245 is set up with proper ballast and weight balance for the jobs that you do and your experience through the years of running that tractor. I consider you a master at skillfully operating your equipment. Just my 2 cents. Love your videos!

    I know you have talked in past videos about how that 245 is heavier than most normal 245’s. With a few extra weights on the front it would be a beast on hills.

    Person has to own and run a 200 series massey to fully appreciate thier stability and predictability. Great video, late wife and I did a similar slope facing southward, which triggered me to ask if folks there ever seed out oats heavy with the grass seed, obviously to let the oats have there head start and then mow them as if there grass until fall. Like getting semi shade for the lawn and picking up green manure?

Again Great Video. By the way this was not that scary of a tractor video, the videos of those guys across the pond driving those tractors on two wheels pulling those sugar cane wagons and flipping backwards... and climbing and digging out from under the tractor and the wagon ....now that is scary to watch...

    Good job. You know we are now living in an age where most folks can not operate a piece of equipment , no experience, or no common sense. Maybe a generation or two had no desire to learn, became "soft", or maybe we failed as teachers to teach them.. It would do a lot of these RUclipsrs good to watch you and maybe learn something about respecting the situation you may be in and respecting the piece of equipment.

    Ben you are correct that many, if not most people do not know how to “operate “ a tractor. These lightweight compact tractors have their place but they are no match at all for a purpose built agricultural utility tractor. I would dare say your 245 will outweigh and out work nearly any compact 4 wheel drive out there. The weight and low center of gravity along with the range of gearing in your 8 speed gearbox make any of those 200 series Masseys ideal the work you do with it. I’m my opinion, and that’s not worth much I know, any of the Masseys from the old 35 up through the 135/150 and on up to the 245-255 tractors and the Ford 2000/3000 and 4000SU are perfect for any farm in the 50 acre and under category. I enjoy your videos like this and always admire your skill and the respect you show the tractor while you operate them.

    You know how to operate the Massey and feel comfortable about your ability to operate it on steep slopes. I know what you mean I have had my 8N Ford for 44 years and have the same confidence operating it. I grew up on tractors as you did and was taught and learned how to be a safe cautious operator. Those tractors didn’t have the safety features that today’s tractors do. Over grew up being careful and having respect for what could happen. Great video Ben. Thanks

    • @khtractors
      @khtractors  3 месяца назад +1

    I would call this stupid, not because you were being dangerous, and, you really seem to know how to operate on the sides of the hills, what was stupid is you have other options, you had no reason to even put yourself into a possible problematic situation, endangering yourself and your family. Sound judgement is to survive as long as possible, that is where experience comes into play, so you can pass on your knowledge, Not to pass on knowledge by example, ie... "don't do what I did to kill yourself".
