If you haven't seen either of MatPat's two Film Theories about Episode 1, you should totally check them both out.
Also, I'm pretty sure the comment about "the reaper winked at me" was supposed to be a joke about the Grim Reaper. The crocodile guy was saying he had a near-death experience.

I think Jax cared about someone who abstracted. It broke him, and he wants to push everyone and everything away as a result.

My MANS- poor guy gets force-glitched through a rock into the backrooms and has his entire view on his existence fundamentally changed forever, makes new friends, makes decisions for himself, and then is just instantly deleted from existence at the end 😭 the whole episode feels like this ragtag family goes to the fair, and the parents go on this shit crazy adventure to get this toy for their kid and then their kid just winds up getting a balloon instead, which is promptly popped to shit at the end by some guy, and the parents just have to stand there and watch their child go through all five stages of grief again for the third time this week

A surprisingly descriptive yet accurate analogy for the episode.

@ThelooneyBin-jg9hh oh no, yeah, I'm hardwired to talk too much 😭😂 over-explanation, situational humor, and long-winded analogies are my only skills in any form of communication

3:47 You’re thinking of Sugar rush! OMG! I’ve been thinking the whole thing, digital candy kingdom themed world with car chases and some kind of developer place inside the inner workings of the game/world outside of the map. 🤯

Fun fact: that scene 7:14 of Pomni stretching her arms is a reference to Scrat at the end of the climax in Ice Age 2 made by Blue Sky Studios, which is more of a coincidence as (Kevin Temmer) the lead animator of "The Amazing Digital Circus" did work at Blue Sky Studios as an employee animator for Ice Age 5, Ferdinand and Spies in Disguise.
    Pretty cool, right?
Yeah, he only works at 3 movies, but the sad thing is that Disney bought Fox before the pandemic happened, and then the unfortunate news occurred when Disney shut down Blue Sky Studios.
    RIP Blue Sky Studios 1987-2021

from what I heard, Jax is the youngest person (Pomni being 20-something), but if you go back to episode 1 he says that Kinger's "supposedly" been here the longest
so I don't think he's a beta tester, just someone taking advantage of the simulation to be an asshole to stave off boredom and abstraction

Before things might go well with auditions, Caine (and Able) for the logo of Last episode, Jax is the one who has "Jacked" his own character and choices, see his absence of an irrelevant event for an irrelevant character, Kauffmo; He's ABLE to seemingly do what he wishes, as CAINE does what he's suppose to, Supporting the characters he has.
    Very, very intriguing.

A reaction! I always love seeing people react to GLITCH showcasing their ability to put their characters through Hell. 😂
If you wanna check out something else by them in the meantime, their first show, Meta Runner, (niche as it is, compared to this show it's basically unknown lmao) is surprisingly good for a first project, and the soundtrack is imo the best they've done yet. It starts out slow, and I'll be the first to admit it likely won't perform as well view wise, but it's a fine show to check out. (A few concepts used in this episode reminded me of it, actually, from the vehicle chase to the asset room) Sorry for the long comment, have good day, and keep doing what you're doing bro!

I didn't think this show would give me a side of meaningless piled on to the meaningless, it exceeds expectations to say the least. That Jax is a real piece of work in my opinion he seems like he tries to occupy himself with anything as a form of rebellion, in a way it could be a form of a coping mechanism and he doesn't want to break down because that is the only thing keeping his current self sane.
