EXPLORING DOONG ISLAND, BANTAYAN, CEBU

Doong is a small inhabited island in the Don group, to the southwest of Bantayan Island in the Philippines. It is part of the municipality of Bantayan, and hold two barangays-Doong and Luyongbaybay. It’s population as determined by the 2015 Census was 2,531. This represented 3.20% of the total population of Bantayan. Doong is situated at approximately 11.0847, 123.6477. Elevation at these coordinates is estimated at 2.6 meters or 8.5 feet above mean sea level. The island can be reached by pumpboat, either from Hagnaya, San Remigio directly or from Bantayan mainland. If you want a totally remote vacation getaway, try going to Doong. Not only is the island beautiful, the trip will definitely be a real adventure. (Wikipedia)
