Please don't worry what an interior designer or anyone else thinks about the number of plants you have. Yours are beautifully/thoughtfully displayed-and plants just make a home/space feel so much more alive/lively/interesting. They also personalize a space and tell us something about who you are. Nothing is any more boring than going into a home that's been "designed," where all the "design rules" have been followed. The spaces come off sterile and don't reflect the owner(s). Just MHO, but seriously, embrace your own style and aesthetic. Whatever makes you feel good/comfortable/happy/at peace in your space is what you should have. If that means a couple of plants, fine. If it means many more, fine, too.
I'm not necessarily worried, it's more that I'm interested in hearing her perspective from an interior design standpoint. I believe I've paired my plants nicely with unique pots, so perhaps her viewpoint on "too many plants" will be different. I wouldn't alter my plant choices for anyone other than myself!
I love when your videos are longer! I usually draw while watching your videos so it’s really nice to have your peaceful video in the background for so long! ❤🌱 Also, I think painting you bookshelf a nice olive/avocado/earthy green would be really pretty! Or maybe a rust? 🤷♀️
Benji your videos lift me up when im at my lowest. I always look forward to your uploads, thank you for always being there. Thank you for being my favorite comfort creator. ❤
The window nook area looks so beautiful, I love how it came out! I have also been wondering what Paige will have to say about your space I can’t wait for that episode. I think you can really only respect your creative choices. You are benjiPLANT, you know the names of all of your plants and keep them looking so pretty and healthy- while also thinking about how they work in the space as a whole. If anyone is going to get away with having a lot of plants and having a beautifully designed space, it’s you. Keep it up Benji, you inspire me!
To be honest Benji, who cares what Page thinks? she should be happy you're having her in your home and on your channel. You have way more subs than she does, if anything, she gains more from collaborating with you. Your home is beautiful, especially because of you as a person and all your house plants. You're home is you, noone, especially page should have you question your home. We love you and your home, plants and all😊...oh! Happy Birthday to your Mama bear🎉🎂
Yeah, and i think she'll actually like it. I watch her videos sometimes and one thing I noticed is that she usually doesn't like when the decor is "fake" (like going to ikea and buying the whole display) but in Benji's home the plants are beautiful and part of his life. They're a way to show his personality 🙂 (and yes, she doesn't live there so the only ones to please are Benji, Chris and Theo)
Paige Wassel is not an interior designer but rather a freelance set props stylist. She is not in any way educated in interior design. In less than one she has replaced her living room furniture 3 times because she doesn't know how to create a cohesive look with patterns, fabrics and scale. She is a RUclips star for being acerbic, foul mouthed and whiny in her ironic videos.
Happy Bday to your Mum 💜 I found this episode so very relaxing, and I hope to see more content just like this one as it is my favorite of all your uploads. Thank you for sharing your chill day with us ☺🌱
Hi Benji...love the Bedroom plant display! Bravo for your educating us fans on how light affects the growing cycle of plants...but did you know that, also, it helps to rotate (at least a quarter turn) plants frequently?! Happy you're over your "guilt trip" of getting another dog!LoL! Theo is too cute! But your childhood dogs are loved by mom and dad, how sweet that is!!
What about making a smaller ‘containment box’ out of thin card or something when making the desert terrarium, so you can make sure the sand layer goes all around the outside right to the bottom and doesn’t mix with the inner substrates, and then just pull it out once you are happy with the setup… that make sense?
I feel so calm watching you tutorials Benji. You have such a calming voice. I have learnt so much from your videos and changed some of my plant care ways. Greetings from Australia
Little Theo watching is so adorable! I have been so curious about the staghorn, would love to see how you water it? I am learning so much and really enjoy your videos. Im in Santa Cruz area now, the succulents are insane around here, Im getting into them too!
I appreciate the look of staghorn ferns, but they look so much better mounted on cork than a chunk of wood. Im so jealous of your entire plant collection and your particular aesthetic.
Love Paige and love your channel too. I can't remember if I suggested that she review your place or not but I also think it will be interesting to see what she says as you have incredible taste and an interior style with many parallels to hers (but with more plants, obviously). I expect to see her come around a bit on the "too many plants" comments as you have done it so intentionally but also understand it's a lifestyle difference. Some people would rather spend their time on other hobbies and as I've learned over the years, many people don't understand that it isn't always as much work as they might think. (can't tell you how many people have made comments like "how much time do spend watering them each day?" as if the plants need watering every single day, hah!)
8:41: This area is interesting. Because of the two pillars/support poles (?), it looks like three vignettes (you are sitting in the middle vignette). I could see designing three different "scenes" for each vignette. You also have the added benefit of the window, which looks like a framed picture of trees.
Interior designer is gonna love your space! Thx for add’g a fern mount session in this video. It’s the first time I’ve seen you cut the shields and if you say it’s okay I may have to do the same. I purchased a platycerium superbum. Waiting to collect all right tools to mount it.The size in grow put is significant. Really enjoyed learning some of your care tips and your effort to design intentionally with your plants while being mindful of their growth patterns and light needs.
Love your videos and your quiet, gentle spirit. I also love how you can take a plant with a funky shape and just turn it into art. You have made me think more about my pot/plant matches and while I kind of have too many plants to strike gold everytime, its really helped some of my more "statement" plants. I always love when you show and work with your staghorns. I live in Wisconsin and our forced air heat for 6+ months of the year (which dries out the air terribly) makes them such a challenge, but when I see yours, it makes me want to try one again... Maybe just one, small one that I can really focus on. (Ive had to move all my mounted orchids back to pots because i just cant keep up with the dry air. Even the Vandas in baskets are now vandas in pots). Anyway, love your videos and thank you for always inspiring me! Hello Theo!!
If you wanted to change the layered substrate effect in the terrarium, slide something flat along the glass and then open up a small gap by levering it into the terrarium. Then pour the sand into the gap you created
Hello Benji, Really enjoy watching your plant repotting or restoring😊 I'm definitely Not a Plant Lady but my Mom sure was. Till ur next video, God bless & keep those Plants growing🍂
So far I like the dish garden in the square glass container/ terrarium, as I have a very similar thick glass square. I am very impressed with the way you make your landscapes in the planters and i feel you have an intuitive, artistic sensitivity and even when distracted by bugs you created a beautiful little landscape !❤
love your cacti/caudex window! I've been struggling a lot with the window grown aroid situation in my apartment as well. I've resigned myself to the fact that the only way I'll be able to enjoy the leaves from the inside of the house is to use grow lights.
Regarding the blue bookshelves, I'm kind of confused why they're even there. Most of the shelves are removed and spaced out quite a bit. I feel like that area would make a lot more sense without the bookshelves. Especially because you already have the really large ones in the sitting area. I would remove them entirely and put your nice art on the wall, maybe add some wall mounted shelves to display some of your things and then the desk would look like it belongs more in that space. Just an idea!
I love Haworithia Cooperi so much! They're super easy to care for, and they actually appreciate more water than a lot of other succulents. I would definitely be careful with pests on the Haworthias, though. I got scale on a few of mine, and they were impossible to get rid of because of all the tiny cracks in-between the leaves 😭. Great video, and I love that you're starting to focus on a lot of succulents!
Could you drill a few holes in the terrarium ,if it is made of Perspex so it can be used more often, and it’s good for the plant❤, , I enjoy you and your plants very much❤❤❤❤❤ I hope your family are all well , and your cute fur kid❤
I think your place should reflect your personality and hold the things that you like. I think some well-designed interior spaces lack that because they leans to far toward aesthetics and trends. But, I love your aesthetic and think you make some excellent design choices.
I just love your terrariums. Now on the search for a small ball. Would love to make on for my kids. I have never made one before will search your videos
I love Paige's channel and yours pretty much equally and I think there's basically no way she wouldn't love your home. Especially since she loves buying secondhand. Maybe having a lot of plants isn't for everyone but it's something that makes you super happy! I also think that you think a lot more about aesthetics when potting and positioning each plant than most people do. Her main complaint is that people have a million tiny plants scattered instead of in groups or just one giant plant. Can't wait for your episode of check out this f*cking home!!
Love your terrariums! I seriously looked into an RO water system because buying distilled is so expensive, but the amount of waste water generated has made me hesitant. 🥴 Your bedroom display is so awesome, too! I live in TN and the mosquitoes are horrible here too, especially since our city cut back on spraying during the pandemic and didn't want to spend the money to start it back up. And have as many plants as mje you happy. Your home is for your enjoyment, not for other people to judge.
Benji, mosquitoes are a solvable problem, you just need to find the source of those mosquitoes! Look for standing water and eliminate any you find. If you can't find the source in your yard, talk to your neighbors. I am sure they would be happy to help get rid of them as well
Was nice to see your staghorn ferns again, you introduced me to them and now their probably my favorite plant! I got one tattooed on my leg haha, and i have 2 of my own since they're hard to find where i live but i hope i can get more soon, lovely video as always 🌱
I like the mix substrate look from the sides, it looks like that part of the lasdscape is cut from the earth and that’s how it looks, dunno if that makes sense
Hi, I came here from Paige Wassel's channel. I love your bedroom window lattice! I was wondering if you have a demonstration somewhere of how you made it? I'd love to do something like this in my kitchen.
I am a new sub and big fan! I see you struggling with mosquitoes in your backyard. In your area, do they sell citronella geraniums? Here in the SE they are popular and they’ve worked for some ppl I know. I used to have a yard with tons of tall trees and shrubs. Over time doing yard work, I realized the mosquitoes mostly lived near the shrubs. That was helpful bc I knew what areas to avoid. Basically they live in leafy areas. Maybe your landlord would allow you to limb up the trees a little to push their territory up higher above lounging level? Also, they prefer shade and dislike sun. Keep the great content coming, I love your aesthetic and vlogs! 🌿
What are your thoughts on a deep blue color for the bookshelf? The blue colors in this video like the pot and even your hat color are very complimentary to the deep tones in your environment.
No drainage isn’t necessarily ‘bad’ for the plant either. It all depends on conditions and how you care for it. When using a clear vessel, its actually fool-proof in my opinion. You can see exactly what’s going on, and how much water it needs…just saying!
I love that theo is sitting so cozy on the love sack watching with us as benji is preparing the aquarium is so wholesome for me
haha love sack

I think the mixed substrate looks quite cool actually. Reminds me of the different layers of our planet, making it more natural
1:36 OH MY GODDD I just noticed Theo watching you lovingly from the window behind you!!! literal angel
If you're ever in Munich, Germany make sure to visit the Botanical Garden. They have a greenhouse with the hugest staghorn ferns, it's amazing
I love when your videos are longer! I usually draw while watching your videos so it’s really nice to have your peaceful video in the background for so long! ❤🌱
Also, I think painting you bookshelf a nice olive/avocado/earthy green would be really pretty! Or maybe a rust? 🤷♀️
This is really inspiring. The bedroom plant display looks like a part of gallery or museum 🤩Thank you Benji
Benji your videos lift me up when im at my lowest. I always look forward to your uploads, thank you for always being there. Thank you for being my favorite comfort creator. ❤
I am so shockedd you didn’t turn that space into a reading nook, your love for your plants isss beyond earth
10:00 that is already such a cool idea, it's only going to get even more beautiful over time!
Right now Im in love with the idea of a Mediterranean garden. That us such a cute project, loving your vibes. Benji Sundays ❤ hi Theo.

As usual Theo is looking absolutely adorable in the background.❤️👏🏽🐕🍀🌱
the length of this video brought me so much joy
Happy Bday to your Mum 💜
I found this episode so very relaxing, and I hope to see more content just like this one as it is my favorite of all your uploads. Thank you for sharing your chill day with us ☺🌱
loving all the happy re-plant things
benji u got lots of mosquito bites
12:03: Parrots? Wow!
Hi Benji...love the Bedroom plant display! Happy you're over your "guilt trip" of getting another dog!LoL! Theo is too cute! But your childhood dogs are loved by mom and dad, how sweet that is!!
The "sitting" plant shelf area in your bedroom could use some type of track or rectangular light. It would make that area look, VERY GOOD!
What about making a smaller ‘containment box’ out of thin card or something when making the desert terrarium, so you can make sure the sand layer goes all around the outside right to the bottom and doesn’t mix with the inner substrates, and then just pull it out once you are happy with the setup… that make sense?

Greetings from Australia
The fish lamp in your shelf is soo cute
The bedroom plant area is styled beautifully! The red color in the artwork from Vietnam would be amazing for your bookcase IMHO.
This was one of your most relaxing videos ever, i'm not sure why but the intensive plant care was so extremely soothing... I feel blissful.
Please upload 2 videos per week. We are really like your videos. Love from India.❤
Little Theo watching is so adorable! I have been so curious about the staghorn, would love to see how you water it? I am learning so much and really enjoy your videos. Im in Santa Cruz area now, the succulents are insane around here, Im getting into them too!

Yay Benji posted 💚
This has been worth the wait

Love the interesting array of plants in the bedroom now!

I could see designing three different "scenes" for each vignette. You also have the added benefit of the window, which looks like a framed picture of trees.
Sorry I just finished watching the video and realised the planter was made of glass❤ great video❤
Finally, a staghorn fern mounting video!! This was super helpful too see. :)

I would paint the bookshelf a dark color to add drama to the room.

Never stop posting I luv this kind of content
would love an update on the moss aquarium soon

a long vid 😭😭 im so happy
Benji! I didn't know that the FSQ got curled tips like that. Mine is hanging near my skylight. Can't wait for it to take on that characteristic.
Thank you for this chill plant care video...I love your aesthetic! And Happy Birthday to your Mom!

Hey have you considered allying with dragonflies to fight the mosquitoes?
Fenestration is an architectural term that refers to the opening/window patterns in a buildings exterior.
Very nice video. Peaceful and informative
Hi 👋 i always enjoy your videos. It's therapeutic. Thank you!
theo on the backkk looking so cuute

The rock's and the sand are same colour that's why it look's a bit off.
Dark colour rock's would be perfect for this
Hello fron Brazil 😊😊😊😊😊

may you grow ur outdoor garden with mosses that looks like japanese zen garden?
13:19 is a dessert rose i believe
I love this video! Can you tell us where to get the type of spray bottle you are using? I like the focused spraying.
I was going to ask this too!!
Ahhh I love videos like this
No drainage isn’t necessarily ‘bad’ for the plant either. It all depends on conditions and how you care for it. When using a clear vessel, its actually fool-proof in my opinion. You can see exactly what’s going on, and how much water it needs…just saying!
my fiddle leaf fig looks exactly like that after watering because of perlite too 😭
I'm new to your channel and love it.
